I don't agree. The problem with keeping RWBY's worldbuilding(aka plot,characters,power system,etc.) as is is that you're essentially building on a foundation of sand. The source material simply doesn't do enough to make RWBY feel like a lived in world because the writers left a lot of things either unexplained or underdeveloped,with the few pieces of worldbuilding they did do were supplementary material,and even then they were happy to retcon that without care. I guess the one thing you could do if you don't want to change too much is actually using Beacon advantages as school setting. It's so stupid to me that they never thought about it and it's one of the most underutlized fantasy school setting I've ever seen.

Sometimes, even when a Hunter's Aura is at zero, they'll either retreat until it recharges or continue fighting regardless. The latter is reckless but sometimes it shows that the Hunters aren't going to back down when lives are at stake.
I did like your idea of fleshing out the some of girls a bit more by giving them characteristics from team JNPR, but I think they could still fit in somewhere, like more of a rival team we see ever so often.
They definitely could, it's just that for being the titular characters, RWBY seemed to get sidelined for Jaune, Nora, and Ren quite a few times. A show only has so much time, and the more characters there are that need attention, the less time each of them can get.

All that being said, you said this was mostly the broad strokes, annd while I think there's interesting details to cover in more detail, it's understable to just move on and go cover another thing, we already have a good few channels doing series on alt rwby takes after all.

But ever since Monty Oum passed away, the show, his creation, has devolved into a series of nonsense and plot holes. Characters acting stupid and unlikeable for the sake of the plot. World Building that gets more confusing as the series goes on. A drop in Fight Quality as the characters spout exposition during fight scenes. Fans quitting the show for good, after they were promised so much. A decline in viewership and fan interest. Behind the scenes drama that paint the show in a dark light. And worst of all, the show straying far away from Monty’s vision and instead, used as an IP for both Rooster Teeth and Warner Bros, who shut down Rooster Teeth in 2024. Rooster Teeth had only themselves to blame for screwing over their fans and employees. just hope that Viz Media will make the show better in Volume 10, even though they got the two writers that ruined the show to begin with.
What is this so called "Monty's vision" bullshit that I keep hearing you people regurgitate? Do have any concrete details and proof on what this "vision" entails? I doubt I will even get an answer anyway and that's when I'll know it's pure bullshit and nothing more. As for RT screwing over its employees and fans, that is nothing new. Pretty much every company ever has done things just as bad, if not worse than RT, so I wasn't even surprised when I heard about the drama. This is what I didn't like about V3. It shifted the tone and serialized the show too soon. They shouldn't have ditched the episodic formula too early. There is so much about the show's characters and world we never got to see or explore. It makes their universe feel small. So much that they had to create those WoR shorts to explain things instead. I don't mind supplement material to explain things but I wish could get to see it in the show instead of giving us homework. Star Wars does this kind of thing. As does Halo and Transformers. But thanks to RT's impatience, the show can't do any of that unless "the plot demands it". But even the plot needs a breather. Otherwise, you'll be relegated to telling and not showing.
This show has the same tonal shift problem that seasons 3 and 4 of Young Justice has. It’s like the show was screaming, “Look at me! Look at all of the blood and gore! I’m an adult! I have unnecessary sex scenes! I’m not for kids!” High Guardian Spice also has that problem, but the show doesn’t know who its marketing itself towards.
The change in tone was extremely abrupt. There were obviously serious moments in the first two seasons, but it had levity to balance it out. From season 3 onward, it was jarring how things kept escalating, but with very few lighter moments to counterbalance it.
I think ditching the episodic nature in season 3 was fine, but instead of jumping to a darker tone immediately it should have been a much more hopeful plot, with things getting gradually more brutal each season. have the fall of Beacon happen in season 6 or later and throw out the fall of Atlas entirely (Seriously do we need to destroy every last element of civilizaion?)

Yes, they should've kept the Hopeful tone and only get darker as the show progresses instead of just jumping into it. Shows like MHA and Black Clover started out hopeful and got darker as they progessed. They even had greatly timed funny moments to counterbalance it. The worse thing is that in RWBY everything almost ends in the villains' favor while the heroes get nerfed to the point of being careless idiots. It's even more blatantly obvious in V7 & V8 and I hate it. We're supposed to be rooting for the heroes and wanting them to win. Sure, the bad guys can win, sometimes. But that doesn't mean they have to win more times than the heroes.

You can blame the shippers for ruining the sisterly bonds between Team RWBY. Because Rooster Teeth caved into the demands of the Bumblebee Shippers, they made Blake and Yang a couple in Volume 9. Thank god that Kaneki x Hide from Tokyo Ghoul wasn’t made canon. Even though Chapter 125 of Tokyo Ghoul Re: was hated because it made Kaneki and Touka a couple, at least the author wasn’t trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator, the Yaoi Shippers.

I never heard the argument Yourself the new star war sums have a different A tone for kids to adults. The truth is you can be both a comedy and Take it seriously. Help kids shows and stars wars shows still do show you can take it seriously and have darker fiends but have a bit of a comedy with it. RWBY Can take it so seriously but add comedic elements. That's not the problem. If the cruiser team of rwby want to take a look at darker they can.
There is a win state for RWBY though, at least from a meta/audience perspective there clearly is: bring humanity and faunis together and bring the gods there. Seems to be fairly clearly checkoff's gunned.
Maybe that's the point of the series and I'm just being dumb, but things like removing aura and making it magic, and the grim forming out of thing air, make the setting and show something entirely different. And honestly, the grim thing makes society fairly unworkable unless you make everyone either a huntsmen/huntress (or something similar in terms of power levels) or dead. Maybe exceptions for people particularly positive and optimistic.
I like the overall idea but think it diverges a bit too much so I'll add my own course corrections to the course correction. 1. Instead of boiling semblances into schools of magic but Semblances into effectively innate magic. A special kind of magic one can use naturally and for those unable to use magic it's the only kind they can use. You could still catagorize semblances into types to give them more structure instead of them just doing whatever random power the writers want at any given time. 2. Rather than erase Aura entirely just have aura be a kind of defensive magic everyone learns by default or maybe it's a kind of innate property of mana/aura to protect the body. Furthermore rather than having it tied to stamina specifically add better visual indicators for them running low on mana/aura. 3. Rather than cut the gods out entirely just have them be more of a background thing rather than something characters have actively dealt with. Like instead of litterally fighting the gods and isntantly getting humanity wipped out, maybe Salem tries to become a god of death by harnessing Grim power which are directly born of the dark god's power. But in doing so she accidentally unleashes a wave of death that kills everything and is cursed by the gods to loose her physical form as punishment who see the world as dead and abandon it. 4. Rather than purely science experiments creating the Faunis. Maybe Salem creates them from the residual power of the gods in an effort to restore humanity. Meaning the god's power doesn't just randomly revive humanity, it's her. This could create an interesting dynamic where Salem is both the destroyer and creator of the world. But she's still not a god because she did so manipulating the left over power of the gods. Thus her ambition to acheive godhood in order to escape such limitations. This also gives Salem a more concrete motivation without changing the genera almost entirely to SCi-fi. 5. Rather than having the 4 relics becoming her philactories (basically turning her into Voldemort) have them be prior experiments to harness the residual power of the gods. have them be things Salem created to try to master the god's power but were stolen from her by Ozpin. Her getting the relics gets her closer to achieving godhood, but at the same time collecting the relics would give the heroes enough power to possibly undo her curse so they could finish her off for good. 6.I like the changes to Ruby and just want to add on, expesically put emphasis on the idea sacrifices have to be made and youc an't win every battle. The big issue with the Atlas storyline was how Ironwood was demonized and character assasinated for having an actual plan to save people at the cost of accepting sacrifice, in favor of trying to save everyon e... and utterly failing to do so. The show largely sweeps his under the rug. Also Just drop the racism plot entirely ... listen we've had litteral decades of racism subplots and ones that did it better. With RWBY it got in the way more than it did help. Maybe have some minor undertones and brief subplots touching on the subject, but considering everyones strugglign to even survive at this point it's rather foolish to try to balance racism with that, even in the real world people reach a point where they'll stop caring about such things for the sake of survival.

With Oz gifting his cane to his successors, would he still gradually take over the body or would it be instant? Also once Oz fully takes over the body would the persons consciousness still be present alongside Oz's?
why does this just seem like a basic dnd 5e adventure rather then rwby, i feel like the changes are a bit too extreme though that might just be only me, i enjoyed semblances because it let characters have more variety rather then everyone doing the same thing and having access to the same things, also im pretty sure making everything survailenced would just make every kingdom the same as atlas but thats probubly because im not imagining the different kingdoms the same if they were all forced to be under a iron rule to prevent the grim, although i have to question 2 things specifically im confused on, stamina? why call it that instead of regular mana if your making all semblences magic, and removing jnpr? why i get you may want to focus on our main cast only but the main show has quite a few seasons and was able to focus on multiple storys with multple characters at a time just fine, i enjoyed when rwby got to have more then 1 team working together and interacting if you want to foucs more on rwbys team i think thats fine but having a supporting cast of people they can interact with such as coffe and jnpr as well as other teams made rwby far more fun to watch rather then only focusing on our main 4 the entire show, as for salem being just a regular litch seems a bit of an interesting choice but i have no issues with it. great video though and a fun fought.
RWBY is still my thing, and I still hate everyone for disrespecting, bashing, lashing, insult, etc. at RWBY for no damn reason for the past years throughout Volumes, unacceptable.
And I understand that, yet everyone is allowed to criticize the show, the writing, and the problems with it. It's ok to point out when someone is being a hater for the sake of hating, but it's important to respect when someone is criticizing the show, specifically when it comes from passion and affection for the show and its ideas. I don't hate the show, but I'm not going to pretend that is perfect and it don't deserve criticism.
I know. But I’ve noticed a drop in quality in the writing of RWBY during Volume 7. Sure the fight quality went down hill in Volume 4, but at least it was trying tell a story, only for it to suffer from slow pacing, scenes devoid of logic and characters being a shell of their former selves.
@@samflood5631 Don't forget that they're prioritizing the show's story over everything else. A story about characters should prioritize its characters while telling a good story. Not over the other. The main story needs a break every now and then to give characters a moment to shine. Plus a good story need good world building. If not, then their universe becomes small.

Yeah, I never had any problems with Aura in this show, either. It protects them from damage and harsh weather. And it buffs their Semblances.

Rather than having the 4 relics becoming her philactories (basically turning her into Voldemort) have them be prior experiments to harness the residual power of the gods. have them be things Salem created to try to master the god's power but were stolen from her by Ozpin. Her getting the relics gets her closer to achieving godhood, but at the same time collecting the relics would give the heroes enough power to possibly undo her curse so they could finish her off for good.
6.I like the changes to Ruby and just want to add on, expesically put emphasis on the idea sacrifices have to be made and youc an't win every battle. The big issue with the Atlas storyline was how Ironwood was demonized and character assasinated for having an actual plan to save people at the cost of accepting sacrifice, in favor of trying to save everyon e... and utterly failing to do so. The show largely sweeps his under the rug.
Also Just drop the racism plot entirely ... listen we've had litteral decades of racism subplots and ones that did it better. With RWBY it got in the way more than it did help. Maybe have some minor undertones and brief subplots touching on the subject, but considering everyones strugglign to even survive at this point it's rather foolish to try to balance racism with that, even in the real world people reach a point where they'll stop caring about such things for the sake of survival.
This I like😮 but I would still add team Jnpr to the story they could be either team rwby foil or lancer keeping them in but still about Rwby.

@@metazoxan2 yep a good way to fix that it's a leave team Jnpr in Kingdom of vale while Team Rwby are in Mistral then have them show up as reinforcements in the the ending the battle for atlas.

why does this just seem like a basic dnd 5e adventure rather then rwby, i feel like the changes are a bit too extreme though that might just be only me, i enjoyed semblances because it let characters have more variety rather then everyone doing the same thing and having access to the same things, also im pretty sure making everything survailenced would just make every kingdom the same as atlas but thats probubly because im not imagining the different kingdoms the same if they were all forced to be under a iron rule to prevent the grim, although i have to question 2 things specifically im confused on, stamina? why call it that instead of regular mana if your making all semblences magic, and removing jnpr? why i get you may want to focus on our main cast only but the main show has quite a few seasons and was able to focus on multiple storys with multple characters at a time just fine, i enjoyed when rwby got to have more then 1 team working together and interacting if you want to foucs more on rwbys team i think thats fine but having a supporting cast of people they can interact with such as coffe and jnpr as well as other teams made rwby far more fun to watch rather then only focusing on our main 4 the entire show, as for salem being just a regular litch seems a bit of an interesting choice but i have no issues with it. great video though and a fun fought.
RWBY is still my thing, and I still hate everyone for disrespecting, bashing, lashing, insult, etc. at RWBY for no damn reason for the past years throughout Volumes, unacceptable.
And I understand that, yet everyone is allowed to criticize the show, the writing, and the problems with it. It's ok to point out when someone is being a hater for the sake of hating, but it's important to respect when someone is criticizing the show, specifically when it comes from passion and affection for the show and its ideas. I don't hate the show, but I'm not going to pretend that is perfect and it don't deserve criticism.
If someone who criticizes the show on TH-cam gets you so pressed then I can’t imagine how it is on other platforms for you.
Preach it, man. But you know I don't mind if they criticize the show, as long the person is civil and constructive about it. I'm constructive.
I know. But I’ve noticed a drop in quality in the writing of RWBY during Volume 7. Sure the fight quality went down hill in Volume 4, but at least it was trying tell a story, only for it to suffer from slow pacing, scenes devoid of logic and characters being a shell of their former selves.
@@samflood5631 Don't forget that they're prioritizing the show's story over everything else. A story about characters should prioritize its characters while telling a good story. Not over the other. The main story needs a break every now and then to give characters a moment to shine. Plus a good story need good world building. If not, then their universe becomes small.
I like you would rework this show, I say the parent company hire you on to do it.

I mean The Simple Solution is that the move team Jnpr down the season the after you will establish Team Rwby.
Team jnpr occupied the same role as team rwby and steal screen time. Removing them is the best option.
