My vehicle has been going dead for a few months. It was time to change the alternator. This vehicle was very easy even for a beginner like me. Thank you so much for going step by step and not forgetting any. Very appreciative and helpful.
You're welcome! Glad it helped! 🙏 thanks for the visit. Good luck with your DIY project. Please share, thanks.🙏 Thanks for the like and thanks for watching.🙏
Did you remove something above the alternator? You went right from removing the serpentine to removing the alternator, but it sure seems easy to access.
No, I always try to show everything in the video to make a job easier. Why you are asking? Do you have something different? a modified alternator with special brackets? Please share, thanks for watching.🙏
After looking again, I see I have an air duct from beside the radiator to the front of the engine, below the vacuum pump. I removed that, for access. i didnt notice that you mentioned it.@@EasySteps_Sidhu
th-cam.com/video/aYNBd7R7Wyk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=UpvS_c5oEoPJzKTn&t=38 As I have shown in the video only thing you need to remove is the duct alternator side and if anything else you have removed it's up to you to make the job easier.
The lights would be flickering inside the cab or your battery would not charge up to 14.0 volts. While the engine is running and at idle. I have 146k on the original alternator.
Why? 🙄Mercedes is a good reliable car and if you know DIY then it's easy to maintain. If you take it to the dealership then it's pretty expensive to keep. Thanks for watching and good luck with your call.🙏
OK, I removed the duct. I have a GL350,2013, and can't seem to get the alternator up and out ! May remove pulley, or remove throttle body. yes, it's been a month.
Have the battery light, terminals measure 11.5v. Battery is only 2-3 years old. Car starts and drives back and forth, but the computer disabled the steering.
I believe your serpentine belt is not correctly mounted, if the belt is correctly on then check your power steering pulley in case it is seized. If the pulley doesn't move then the power steering pump is gone bad. I hope it helps, thanks for watching.🙏
@@EasySteps_Sidhu you were right. The belt had slipped off and that was the cause of the steering not working. Apparently a leaking vacuum pump had caused the belt to slip off.

the consumption is high and i'm single@@EasySteps_Sidhu
the vehicle is large and heavy. I think i will go on an x3 more reasonable.
If you’re gonna buy an ML get a 2008 and up skip the 2006 and 7
@@blacktalnz_1290 i think i will go for an e83 better weight/power ratio, i don't need a lot of space
Tengo que sacar el mio. Gracias por la informacion. Cual es la medida del dado del alternador y tensor. Gracias

I just got the same light
Fix that oil leak! the drip-drip will destroy your belt, and the alternator below. Vacuum pump has two gaskets.@@matsudakodo
The 2014 gl350 is much tigheter space. Can't remove.
The alternator was probably not a bosch I'm suspecting. The one you replaced.
