    I live in rural Galicia and we have one very elderly priest who celebrates mass at numerous village churches, so he is a busy man! I rely on videos like this for guidance and thank God for them.

    This Padre has my side splitting over the awkward asking 🤣... years ago tried something similar to the chocolate tactic with pastries. Local sister just laughed and said God would send me someone special. He did exactly that: sent me an awesome Carnelite priest, no pastries necessary! He does deserve some though... thanks for reminding me! 😁😁😁😁😁

I WENT TO PRAY YESTERDAY AT THE CEMETERY AND THE SKY WAS GETTING DARKER AND DARKER AND I KEEP PRAYING THE CHAPLET TO THE DIVINE MERCY THE DARK CLOUDS KEEP MOVING AND FOR 15 MORE MINUTES I KEPT PRAYING AND THE DARK CLOUDS CLEARED AND THERE WERE ONLY A FEW DROPS OF GENTLE RAIN. I’ve definitely done the “sneaky” “Father, can I ask a question please…?” a couple of times in the confessional to my parish priest. The first time I asked a few questions, I didn’t even ask for absolution and I felt so weird and embarrassed afterwards (never doing that again)! I’m pretty sure he knows it’s me since I go to daily mass, and one of the few my age who regularly goes, but I’m too shy to do face-to-face confession or ask him directly to be my spiritual director since I’m not exactly discerning my vocation or anything big. 😂
    Thank you Father for affirming it’s okay to ask in the context of confessional! During my last two confessions, he asked me what I’m working on this time, and then the following month he asked me what I think I should/can do to become a great person. (Perhaps he is already acting as my spiritual director😅)

      Haha, love this comment! It’s Katie writing as Father doesn’t manage this page and is currently on retreat. Father is immersed in his work at a local level and unfortunately isn’t able to take on remote spiritual direction at the moment. But hey, maybe you could move to the UK? Just kidding, but I hope you can find someone else just as good!

    Dear Fr...I have a question. What happens when your vocation has...well...sort of ended? By that I mean..what about those of us who arent as old as God but our spouses have passed away and our children are doing the whole...independent grown up, moved out with families of their own...thing. But theres still a whole heap of life in the old dog yet..? Then what?

    • @ctmcatholic
      @ctmcatholic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Anna, great question. Everyone’s primary vocation is to be a child of God, but of course that can be expressed in different ways. Being a grandmother is a wonderful vocation and you can (if circumstances allow) have a very positive influence on your children and grandchildren at this stage in life.
      If you feel God is calling you to something else, you are also free to pursue an additional vocation. All of this would be great to bring to spiritual direction. Do you currently have a spiritual director? God bless, Katie

    Priests are way too busy to do this, it will take a lot of begging and looking and looking for a willing person even a lay person unfortunately 😞. 10 minutes every 3 months would even help. It feels like nobody cares 😢

      Perhaps look for a seminary or a cathedral/shrine where there are many priests in that one church.
