Quick update: I am still making these primarily in Stainless steel, Nickel Aluminum Bronze, Brass, and Aluminum. Restocks are still Fridays, however for the summer, I am listing midweek and trying to keep at least a few materials available all the time.
Thank you for the support! Lots of questions on when I restock, so I’ll answer now. I’ve stopped selling on Etsy for the most part, and work through eBay. Restocks are usually on Fridays, so it’s best to check on Saturday. If you follow me through eBay, it will email you when I list new products and stock.
Awesome product but the aluminum shipped price would buy 2 brand new pencils. I hope that this becomes more cost effective for you to make it’s definitely a nice option.
I particularly liked the lead hardness painted on the plastic ones. It would be great if you could find a way to print those hardness graphics on your metal replacements.
Hi there. The original plastic ones use a permanent sticker, and I’ve started doing the same on the latest aluminum versions. I’m still listing regularly, and you can see pictures of the current version on eBay. Thank you for your comment.
I just messaged you on E-bay, I really would like to purchase these upgrades, love the pencil, just needs this upgrade. It is Friday August 16th, and hope to order soon. Maybe you can arrange to market these with Pentel, many customers would love an all metal version, which would make it the #1 mechanical pencil for many, more durable than any Rotring with the upgrade (Rotring tips bend way to easily when dropped, and the click retraction of the Graphgear is superior to all other retractables - the plastic core is the one big flaw, I've had both front and back break on pencils, we use them extensively in our engineering and architectural work including field work).
@@macewindow149 Yes, the brass one fits perfect, adds a weight I like, and also I like the color. However it was the last one left. He now has aluminum ones back in stock, and wrote that he would have stainless steel soon. However I think the brass is best, maybe bronze would be nice to. You can see the golden color through the rubber on the grip, it's very nice. This really makes this pencil the best retractable pencil of all, this should be marketed better, anyone into great mechanical pencils should get this, it fixes the one big flaw this pencil has, I"m actually surprised Pentel has not thought of providing this option, it's well worth it, and if mass produced, I'm sure price could go down.
How expensiv are the metal replacnent parts ? 🤔 Hardness indicator on your buildings are without letters(numbers) I find this cool for self printed Hardness indication lables. 😊
@ryanaustria3958 Oo, sira rin yung Graphgear ko. Nakakita ako ng replacement sa eBay, pero sobrang mahal. Mas okay pa siguro bumili na lang ng bago graphgear.
Please help! I dropped by pencil and now the tip won't screw back on! If I removed the grip, the tip screws on fine, but the threads aren't grabbing when the grip is in place. This is the 2nd time this has happened to one of my GraphGears.
Are you still selling it? I favorited your ebay page a few weeks ago, but no restock since. I would love to buy one. My graphgear 1000 broke and I love that pencil, I want to fix it. T-T
Hi, I restock every Friday afternoon (PST). I should have a few up this afternoon. Although if you're interested in that many at once, shoot me a message through eBay and I can get a listing set up for you when they are done.
Yes I do. Etsy international shipping is bad, but I’ve shipped to the Philippines before on eBay. Because of the holidays my next big restock will be January 12th. Also if you follow me on eBay, it will email when I’m back in stock.
It does modify the balance quite a bit. Aluminum doesn't have a huge effect, in fact it's barely noticeable under scrutiny, but the brass, stainless, and bronze definitely move the balance a good centimeter forward.
It's a surprisingly complicated little part, and the price reflects that. For aluminum, it's $20 for one, or ~37 for two. Shipping is another ~$4-5 in the US, but eBay international is getting cheaper. Currently I have some in a variety of materials in stock, and will be trying to maintain that for the next few weeks. Thank you for your interest, and my apologies for taking a bit to reply.
@@thedragonlizardhey, thanks for the reply. I just checked, and shipping would cost me $20.31 a piece. That's coming to a total of over 40 bucks per piece, which is way beyond my budget - as I could buy a whole 4 pencils for the price of the two replacement parts. May I instead ask you what kind of threading the parts use? If you won't say, I'll just turn the parts in my drill chuck without threading - and either pressfit or glue them in place, I guess... Sorry for the hassle, and the bad news. Hope you have a great day!
Can you please tell me the thread pitch on the top and bottom or share the CAD file with me? I checked your ebay, and I would love to machine my own stainless. I will buy a brass one from you tho.
I have had five graft gears, mechanical pencils over the years and I’ve never had one ever break. It’s the way that you disassemble them. That’s why they’re breaking. You don’t need all this extra metal. You just need to know how to screw it back together.
Explain please. How are they disassembled wrong? I don't want to break mine. Hiw should they be screwed back together properly? What are some people doing incorrectly?

Hi pls let me know when you have of the metal products available.
Hello,
currently looking for 2 replacement parts. Hopefully you are still making them. Didn't want to get rid of the pencil
Bought one of your metal replacement bodies, it kicks butt. Nice upgrade!!
I would like to see a custom Graphgear 500 grip which is compatible with Graphgear 1000.
I'm curious, were you able to machine the four plastic grooves that exist inside of the plastic piece? If so, how did you manage to do that?
Awesome product but the aluminum shipped price would buy 2 brand new pencils. I hope that this becomes more cost effective for you to make it’s definitely a nice option.
When will there be new arrivals?
Do you plan on making more of these?
👍
I restock on Fridays. Usually not a ton since it’s just a hobby.
Interested in 3 of these.
I’m about to order a Graphgear. Neither of your stores has anything for sale. When is your next run?

You can find links in the description!
Do you ever plan on making these again? I want 7 to replace all my pilot graphgears with

what does it change tho
It makes it harder to break
To mirror the other comment, harder to break, and a little heavier. Rebalances the pen especially with brass and stainless.

Can I still order this?
If so how and how much?
just wanna check, you still selling these on ebay correct?
Yup! Thank you for your interest.
I’ve recently lost my spring for it, is there any replacements for it? Anywhere?
Yes maybe in a spring store you will find it
When you have the plastic body break inside, near the greaph gear cylinder, was there an easy way to remove it from the threading?
can i buy from different country? also i check the link but i cant find the stuff
Yes I offer international shipping through eBay. It ranges but it’s usually less than 15$.
can you send link cause link is broken in desc@@thedragonlizard
I've had two in three years. My problem is the lead jamming
Are you still selling these? None on etsy or ebay. Ta.
Yes I am. Restocks are sporadic because of the holidays, but I expect to be restocking normally on Fridays by January 12th.
How do I get the broken piece out
you use the other broken piece to try and unthread it or use something thin to unthread it
Question: My pentel graphgear tip is too tight any tips?
Check to see if it's dented, or perhaps lubricate it. I've used a light oil, and powdered graphite in the past. Both work well.
Your ebay page is empty. I want to buy these in India? How can I get them brother?
Hey mate do you still sale this? From Philippines here

Question: Do you have like the lead indicator printed on the metal upgrade pieces you made and sell?
Unfortunately no. However, the original is just a sticker, and several customers have previously transferred it to the replacement bodies.
So iff you modify it is it still balance? That a feather for that mechanical pencil
It does modify the balance quite a bit. Aluminum doesn't have a huge effect, in fact it's barely noticeable under scrutiny, but the brass, stainless, and bronze definitely move the balance a good centimeter forward.
Ok
Brother, how can I get the measurements of that cylinder? I already want to send it to the lathe to create one for the gg1000
