Of course Sua's gonna take my favorite song of the entire album, but Handong almost stole it. The very end of the song was in Chinese, but like 95% of it was Korean. Also, Siyeon literally just wrote an Inuyasha end theme for her solo song. Respect. Also, note the red-haired dancer in most of the special clips. That is Hwang Sooyeon, former Happyface Trainee and former Taeyeon backup dancer, currently Dreamcatcher Company's Dance Director. She's basically their head choreographer and she's massively talented in her own right.
During their US tour ALL the members went crazy doing their versions of No Dot. Definitely R rated if not NC-17. Handong chose the outfit herself and was pretty upset when it was delayed and she wasn't able to wear it for the showcase. For the Yoohyeon special clip, fans theorize the "times" on the marquee (10 23 and 10 14) are associated with their comeback next month. She is the spoiler queen after all. Dami's song is my favorite as well, but they were all great. They have developed so much since the dark days of Love Shake.
I was also surprised by Yooh's solo because afaik Jiu is the one who's into Jazz and I expected her to do more a hot girl Yooh kinda vibe lol but it seems she wanted a vibe like La La Land so that makes sense. Hers, Siyeon's and Jiu's are def my fave solos 💖
dreamcatcher \:D/ all the members are lead writer/composer for their respective song. there's actually a bts showing the original first draft which in most cases were not much different from the final song. their usual producers then helped add all the bells and whistles to jazz it up more.
The girls all had writing creds and some production/concept creds to their solos as well. That's why the songs and genres match each ones color so well
Don't know if you did some research on it, but every member wrote the song and the lyrics to the song themselves with the help of Leez and ollounder and some other producer friends. There is even a little documentary where they talk about how they did approach it. I can link it to you if you want ^^
Dami’s was definitely my favorite solo song. It suited her so well, whoever decided that style for her wins. And I grew up with that pop punk sound so I was so happy. Sua’s was so empowering for me lol. And Handong and Siyeon had heavenly ballads as usual. Not surprised and they served the vocals. It feels like Cherry is Jiu’s lane. Like it was the music she wanted to make And expensive is the best word I’ve ever heard anyone use for HanDong. That’s exactly the vibe she gives off. But in a good, indulgent way. Money well spent. Respectfully.

I'm more surprised by Siyeon's because I didn't expect hers to be like a fantasy, story telling and magical kinda sound. I thought she'll have her usual rock/metal solo or a jazz or a blue song. So it was a huge surprised and I loved it! Hers was my favorite and then Yoohyeon's. But also Handong's and Gahyeon. I'm so glad they made Gahyeon had that sound for her. It's cheeky and cute and suits her so well.

I love all of them, but if I were to put them in order of my preference- Beauty Full,Entrancing, Winter, No Dot, Cherry, For, Playground. Just so happens that my bias’s solos are my favs.i knew I was gonna love Beauty Full, Entrancing and Winter just from the album teaser. There are Dreamcatcher Notes of each member learning their solo choreography prior to the online concert where they performed their solos in their entirety. During tour, they had Solo segment where they each did a small vocal or choreography part of their solo. There are also Dreamcatcher Notes of making each of the special clips. Cherry- bright sunshine and about JiU’s love and bond with Cherry. Such a bright song needed the bright and adorable video. Cherry, her sweet white cloud. The white outfit is ment to be like Cherry’s fur and their are some parts of the choreography are things that Cherry does. Jiu- first listed in write, composed, arranged. Falls under funky/KPop No Dot- SuA is dangerous. My other bias wrecker just wreaking me. The song is about obsessive love with no vocals ne hence No Dot. And the MV fits that crazy. Handong’s mom did not approve of Handong’s No Dot antics. Entrancing- the song is just that. It belongs in a freaking period piece k-drama. The music. Siyeon’s vocals because as beautiful and breathtaking as usual. Freaking talented. The choreography is simple but complex on its own right and fits with its elegance. The solo dance that Siyeon killed. Siyeon actually suggested the use of long one takes for some of the parts. She looks beauty, entrancing.. looking like a framing princess. The setting of the temple or where’re it is, her hanbook. Siyeon- first in wrote, composed and arranged. Falls under ballad. Winter- it’s a very warm song. It’s a song that makes me want to sit and chill too. The Chinese characters used for Dong in her name are those that mean Winter. It’s a beautiful song. I love her vocals. Very elegant. The choreography is simple and elegant. The all white setting. I loved Dongie playing piano at the start. The switch to accapella Chinese always gets me.. there is just something about Dong singing in Chinese that gets to me. Falls under R&B. Handong- first in write and compose. Dong has been killing me ever since Odd Eye to the point where she is the member that wreaks my biases and my bias wreckers.. and I am not sure what to call that spot.. not a bias but not quite a bias wrecker either. For- I love that it’s English. The retro/50’s or 60’s feel. For- left open ended because it’s for Insomnia. It can be For (enter your name) . Falls under Jazz. Yoohyeon- first in write, compose and arrange. The For part on tour was definitely amusing and someone put all of the For parts in a video. I mean if they wanted to cover Mamamoo they could be it as all 7 or a quartet. DAMI's solo is def my fave, I grew up loving avril lavigne so the moment the song came in I was teary eyed like I never expected her to do something like that tho I know she's into that type of lyrics but the way she put it into that type of sound is just so perfect, also the way she performs it on their comeback showcase 😭😭😭, the enjoyment radiates but bring backs happy tears on me watching her performed. Second favorite solo is GAHYEON, I'm just happy how perfect the song choices are, the happy songs she and Dami did was perfect for ending the full album. I love that in this album, the girls get to showcase their own identity or color yet we know they can do more different from this. This album is best for showcasing the Dreamcatcher as a group and as a solo as versatile artists.

Apparently Handong used to take piano when she was younger but hasn't kept up with it as much lately but she really wanted to play for the clip so she practiced a lot to get it perfect. She and Yoohyeon mention it in one of the behind the scenes/Dreamcatcher Note videos. And I love the acapella ending, it's so pretty and elegant and feels so like our Ice Princess Beauty-full has practically been on repeat for me. It's so Avril Lavigne and mid 2000s/2010s pop punk rock sounding to me

I have heard all their solos already, but this was actually my first time seeing all the special clips. Siyeon, Dami, and Gahyeon's were my favorite songs and I feel like with the special clips that's even more solidified.

I think my favorite solo song is Siyeon’s because it reminded me of one of my favorite jpop song that has the traditional sound too, “Morning Musume Sakura Gumi - Sakura Mankai”. And I just realized it’s 18 yrs old now 😮 lol The piano part in Handong’s song was arranged by a fan who played it during a video fansign then shared the sheet music with her. She also had another solo song that had a 2PM vibe but chose Winter instead You nailed it with Dami’s song. She specifically named Green Day and Avril as inspirations for her song. And as someone mentioned there’s a documentary where each member was going through the process of writing and recording her solo song. You had to pay to watch the episodes but it’s since been shared around. I’ve yet to watch it myself. Going back to part 1 of your reaction, every song on the album has been performed live, most of them during their online mini concert for the album. They cried (and still performed flawlessly) during “Always” because it was the first time they saw InSomnia and Mongmongie in the audience since the pandemic. Starlight was the last one performed live and it was during their recent US tour (which I wasn’t able to see bc it wasn’t in a city near me).
I thought I would have to wait for part two…Yes! It was uploaded quick. I’m sure you didn’t do a recording of the lyric videos on the side but i wouldn’t mind watching the recording of the lyric videos if you did. Since the girls wrote these lyrics, it would be nice to see what you thought

i THINK yoohyeon lent her voice to dami's solo for backing vocals? i rmr them saying it on tour. and i think dami helped yoohyeon with hers and they did it in her studio? it's so cute how even though it's a solo they still helped each other out
I don't exactly into ballads, but Handong's solo is my favorite out of the 7 (and she's really gorgeous in the video...sorry Yooh), with Siyeon's really close in 2nd. They were actually perform all the solo songs during the mini concert of the album release, with the same outfits and full choreo. That means they've worked on the song & performance way before the album release.

They've been using male dancers for over 2.5 years now. They even had some male dancers for the Minx debut.

I have heard all their solos already, but this was actually my first time seeing all the special clips. Siyeon, Dami, and Gahyeon's were my favorite songs and I feel like with the special clips that's even more solidified.

Yay! Good to see you catching up on your DC reactions. I think my favorite solo song is Siyeon’s because it reminded me of one of my favorite jpop song that has the traditional sound too, “Morning Musume Sakura Gumi - Sakura Mankai”. And I just realized it’s 18 yrs old now 😮 lol
The piano part in Handong’s song was arranged by a fan who played it during a video fansign then shared the sheet music with her. She also had another solo song that had a 2PM vibe but chose Winter instead
You nailed it with Dami’s song. She specifically named Green Day and Avril as inspirations for her song.
And as someone mentioned there’s a documentary where each member was going through the process of writing and recording her solo song. You had to pay to watch the episodes but it’s since been shared around. I’ve yet to watch it myself.
Going back to part 1 of your reaction, every song on the album has been performed live, most of them during their online mini concert for the album. They cried (and still performed flawlessly) during “Always” because it was the first time they saw InSomnia and Mongmongie in the audience since the pandemic. Starlight was the last one performed live and it was during their recent US tour (which I wasn’t able to see bc it wasn’t in a city near me).
all of them wrote the lyrics and compose their solos and i think sua helps with the choreo but im not sure!

i THINK yoohyeon lent her voice to dami's solo for backing vocals? i rmr them saying it on tour. and i think dami helped yoohyeon with hers and they did it in her studio? it's so cute how even though it's a solo they still helped each other out

I don't exactly into ballads, but Handong's solo is my favorite out of the 7 (and she's really gorgeous in the video...sorry Yooh), with Siyeon's really close in 2nd.
They were actually perform all the solo songs during the mini concert of the album release, with the same outfits and full choreo. That means they've worked on the song & performance way before the album release.
