I’m 52 and obese. I spent most of my life lifting weights and a traumatic life experience took hold hard and fast. When I started lifting again 4 mths ago everything hurt SO BAD. I bought a total gym 😂 squats with no weights to adding weights now I’m able to Bulgarian squats again.

Hope you guys all make it to 61, my age without any issues. I trained with huge emphasis on form for 25 yrs as a bodybuilder. Female. I had one of the best trainers on the planet. Have been out of gym for 10 yrs now due to injuries. I’ve got 15 levels of fusions in my back and I’ve torn my knee 3x in 8 yrs. No matter how well you train and prepare you just never know. There’s no reason provided for my injuries. I am or was one of healthiest people I know. Shit happens. Be smart. It matters as you age. I’m back at gym now. 7 moths of walking 60 minutes 7x a week. Just added weights again. Time will tell. Doing my best, but also thinking maybe I shouldn’t have squatted 225 for 25 yrs. No one really knows.

NEAT cardio is overlooked. I'm 45. I focus on getting 10,000+ steps a day. On office days I'll take 10-15 minute walks after meals. Aside from 45 minutes of fasted early am steady state cardio in my spin bike walking is the only cardio I do.

I have been a long time MP follower. As I’ve stated in other comments at 67 I certainly don’t have the strength I had at 25. But I still like to lift heavy. Now it seems I am always hurt. I occasionally ask my one day a week trainer to check my form on my compound lifts to ensure that this is not my problem. He told me it’s just something at my age I will have to deal with. So I purchased your maps over 40 workout program. I plan on sticking with my current 5 day a week bro split training until January 1st. Then I will put your program into my weekly program. I’m glad to see you have posted this 10 tips. Can you discuss a bit on stretching technique?

I'm hitting the big 40 milestone next year so this topic is so relevant. I can believe that people can go insane after 6 days of sleep deprivation. When my LO was born sleep deprivation drove me to severe PPD and it's taken me a long slow journey to recover from that. I now try to catch naps during the day to counter the effect of broken sleep with a toddler who still doesn't sleep through the night. Thanks for all the info, this show is an absolute goldmine and I'm so glad to have found you guys!

Very interesting since last couple of years (, 44 years old now and most of my live been active in fitness and combat sports), I noticed how little injuries add way more up and take much more time to recover with the result it slows down my retain and growth proces of musclemass and searching for a way to train with/around this fact.
Keep up the good work, always interesting topics 💪🏻👊🏻.

It doesn’t seem to curb that for me and so I’ve not being seeing any measurement changes. I have to track diligently in addition to reaching my protein target to stay at an appropriate calorie intake. Now (im)patiently waiting for some results! Thanks for everything guys. Turned 45 a few months ago. I went from 152 lbs in 2017 to a back injury from L3-S1 which ballooned me to 235 lbs. I just started working out again (just over a month) and I can't believe how fast my muscle growth has come back. Scared to do deadlifts and weighted squats, but I do everything I can to fatigue and strengthen lower body until I can regulate my weight back down. I've gone from obese to thin and buff a few times before but this time I feel my age and am terrified I will never get my shape back 😑

Great content gentleman and Merry Christmas to yourself and your families 🎄⛄🎁, I am 52 and have been training since my early twenties and I have been starting to see the affects of poor movement patterns 😕, it was due to not being as present in the moment as I was just pounding the weights mostly to overcome stress 😬. These habits that you have stated on this episode is a effective way to start a new life style change, I think I will save the cold shower for the warmer weather though 😅 as it gets pretty cold and wet on Vancouver Island.

14:43 @mindpump I have a question about the cold water part. So I have a condition where if I get cold I start to get hives all over my body and get extremely itch and irritable for example even in the summer if I go swimming and the water it cold I get these hives, an allergy pill will make them go away or if I take one before I know it’s going to happen it helps. Now in your program is shows to gradually increase the time of cold water exposure, is this something that might help me build up a tolerance to this or should I avoid this part of the program? Thanks guys!!

I am a 46 yr old female and I require to stretch in the AM & PM, and I just started incorporating more pelvic stretching and deep breathing and this has helped me get back to squatting. Without it, I’d be screwed.

I'm 56 and I'm not finding it to be much different than when I was 36. Maybe my knees are a little achy, but I still do power cleans, deadlifts and almost everything else I've been doing for years. And if I clean up my diet I easily get lean. I really don't think there's much difference. But maybe in 10 years that'll change.

I am 47 and began my fitness journey, in earnest, in June. I have been consistent and following a training plan of some sort since then. I am currently doing your MAPS Resistance program.
I had planned to be financially responsible and not buy your 40+ program YET, as I outspent our December budget. But I broke down. I bought it!
I mean - to miss out on a sale would be financially irresponsible, right??? 😆😬🤷🏼‍♀️

At 42 I definitely can't workout the way I once did. Warming up and keeping myself loose is vital if I don't want sore joints.

Great content guys thanks! Any thoughts on supplementing creatine while also eating 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight? My creatinine was high on my last bloodwork. I wonder if I should stop supplementing creatine?
