@@paulmuaddib3470 in 1982 he was the captain of a British Airways Boeing 747 over Indonesia. It flew into a cloud of volcanic ash and all four engines failed. They tried many times to restart the engines before they finally had some success. Had they been unable they would have had to perform a night time ditching in the Indian Ocean. With three engines operating again they diverted to Jakarta and landed with very limited vision due to the volcanic ash having scratched the windshield. When the engines failed Moody did a announcement to the passengers: “Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem. All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them going again. I trust you are not in too much distress.” If nothing else, those words elevate Moody to legendary status!

What a character 🙂 , I watched the story on aircraft investigations it was quite impressive learning about what they did even on the fly shortening the engine startup procedure to save time, Then trying to land the plane with a greatly misted up/sand blasted window etc .

So we're all concerned about airline safety? We're still talking to a pilot 40+ years after he saved his passengers, in the meantime imagine 40% of British airways pilots didn't actually qualify as pilots and paid somebody else to take their pilots' exams for them - imagine unqualified white middle class pilots flying above our towns and cities for decades in huge metal tubes at 500mph packed with hundreds of people. Once discovered it would be endless frontpage scandal until British Airways was forced into liquidation and every one of those pilots were arrested and imprisoned. Exactly this scenario happened over decades and was recently discovered after investigation into a fatal crash - not a peep out of the press - move along - nothing to see here - the double standards in the media are astonishing and Pakistani Airlines is still operating as though nothing happened.

The takeoff is fine, it’s the amount of imaginary ways The plane can come down😂😂
I’ve done many many flights specially, when I was younger, quite a few hundred flying hours The worst part of it all has been turbulence other than that plain sailing, or should I say plane flying
I had a man sat next to me once he was petrified of flying i’ve always had the devil on my shoulder throughout life. Was it wrong of me to tell him don’t worry, you’re in the right seat here in the back of the plane because they very rarely reverse into hills😂😂😂. For some reason, it didn’t help him I don’t know why😂😂
