- To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Titanic sinking, here is the latest revision of the five-year-old "Model Titanic Sinks" series.
Two Academy-Minicraft 30" 1:350 scale Titanic models, specially modified by the RapidNadion W&M Shipyards to sink as the real Titanic did, were used in the creation of this video.
Shot with a Casio Exilim FC-150 and a GoPro Hero HD.

You know, I watched this when it first came out so around 8 years ago.
I came back this time and I see the emotions that they had tried to display in creating it.
A beautiful ship from the very beginning, unfortunately it had a sad ending.
I think there was around 1,500 people who lost their lives. I hope they all had some type of consolation when it all came to an end.
i think 1,557 people passed, but i'm not sure, other people say 1,537 people

Very well done! My mother is 93 and actually had a friend when she was young who was a survivor of the Titanic. Lost her husband on it. Nice commemoration, and worth all your hard work. Tragic event, but nice tribute.

You gotta take in consideration of real ships have bulkheads wich have hatch doors wich would mean each bulkhead eara would have to fill then start leaking to the next one.
The builder of the model could build bulkhead aera , then I bet it would take close to time.

Historically accurate the way the ship broke apart, first funnel being sheered off on impact, the rest on the way down to the ocean floor. It's definately unsettling when you think about the horror there must have been while this was all going on but a well-done recreation, great job!

My great Grandfather died on the Titanic, Sweet is his last name. I never got to know him and, I dont know if he showed courage by saving anyone but, I'd like to believe he did. I cant imagine being ship wrecked in the Arctic ocean and then dying in ice freezing, knife like sensations all over my body until my last breath, and I can imagine being anywhere near the center of the ship when it blew and was forced to separate into two. Although, I appreciate those who commemorate this horrific ship wreck, I am not at all happy to see people look at the Titanic as just another ship wreck or dont have some type of sincerity towards those of us who had family pass on the Titanic. It's sad to see humanity react so cold in a bold and profound way.
May my Grandfather rest in total peace and may his spirit be joined with his maker, our God, Amen.

Never thought man could reproduce the exact way it happen in detailed from a model. Amazing, simply amazing!!!
Well, the moment the ship broke in two is not 100% accurate due to recent studios however the sinking detail is indeed amazing.
I remember watching this when it first uploaded and it even inspired me to make my own sinking ship models several times.
Superbly the best video of the sinking to come along. The model size, detail & the speed of the sinking top notch work. The bonus a lot of videos don't include is her forward funnel breaking off along with her splitting. Very fine work. Five stars if not more.

I was 7 years old when this came out. And I had a huge interest in ship history. This video was the best when I was younger and I'm glad it still exist

Must have been a very complex build to so closely recreate the sinking. Quite a feat of model engineering. Nice work.

In 1997 Titanic's case, they used multiple models. A 1:1 model (exterior), a very large half part of the Titanic's (for the breaking scene), a 9ft+ rc model (for the sailing scenes).
Fascinating and yet so creepy knowing that over 1500 lives were lost.
Seeing the 2 halves begin their descent...you can almost feel their pain.

Oh god the feels. I used to watch this all the time back in the first couple years of it being uploaded. I was about 4 or 5 then. Now I'm leaving school forever in just less than 3 years. Time flies by quick.
I don't know, but as a 4 - 5 year old kid I kept rewatching this over and over.
That was both amazing & chilling.. incredible how the Titanics story still captures us..

Interesting. For the record my grandfather was one of the 5000 Irishmen that built the Titanic. For many years he sweated away working on that ship, and was as shocked as everyone else when it sank. My grandparents actually had reserved tickets for a future sailing that never happened.

Nicely done. I like the sort-of sparks that appeared when it split. Obviously you weren't going to be able to capture how the new animation captures titanic sinking without a lot more work. This captures the event quite well.
