Btw rosa gallery has some new pigments out they have a py150 version they called it aureoline. I know you love a good py150 so I thought I would mention it. They also appear to now have cobalt cerulean.

I know this is a year ago, and maybe you tried Rosa Gallery again. I just bought the 28 whole pan Botanical set and love the paints. very vibrant. I swatched them out and wish I can show you. The turquoise and cobalt blue are very pretty. Of course I don’t have all the colors. But overall, the botanical set paints are really nice.

That quin gold definitely looks more of the aussie red gold color. Pretty.

There are now additional paints including a Naples rose / naples white. The extra paints are professional colours. Maybe your dot card it out of date? I understand some colours are not available separately as pans, only in sets. I think that's a function of the limited (at present) export ease from Ukraine to the USA and even to the UK. Maybe too, to the ability of the company to continue manufacturing whilst at war and so many peoe fled or conscripted to fight! It can't be easy to get hold of raw ingredients for manufacture either.
Thank you for your detailed review. Looking forward to more when you can access the full rance especially the transparent set.

The cobalt turquoise faded in my light fastness testing, I was very, very surprised.

I love Rosa Gallery pans. Like all brands, some are better than others.

My dot card arrived just before Easter but I haven't swatched it yet, so this was super interesting! I really love PG8, I'm going to have to compare the dot of Rosa to the pan of White Nights I have. It seems to be a relatively rare pigment, but I love it.
This is definitely one of the better dot cards out there, I think. All the relevant info (I haaaate when they don't have the pigment info), and enough paint to get a decent swatch. I approve 👍

That's amazing Lee, I didn't even know Rosa Gallery offered a dot card, I got to try them out recently too and actually have the ones I got in the database now. I'll try and get a dot card to have them all too. :) Thank you so much for all the comments and this detailed swatching, really love this.

Mars in paint is about iron oxides pbk11 is iron black, pr101 is red iron oxide

"Mars" pigments are so named not for their granulation, but rather for containing iron oxide. PY42 and PR101 could be called Mars.

Thank you for the swatch. If I was making a Rosa mini palette of 6, I'd get these: Yellow Ochre, English Red, Quin Lilac, Turquoise, Indigo, and Sepia. I love the muted colors. :)

I have the M Graham py110. I use it a lot, but I guess there may be better.

If you like the M. Graham version, there's no reason to switch it up :) I really didn't enjoy it much, something about the texture or how it mixed turned me off.

@@LeeAngold I use PY110 as a replacement for beloved PY153 - I've found Schmincke's version works the best for me. If you're interested in these golden oranges, I would recommend you give it a go.

Renea pointed out they've recently added a few new paints including a PY150, a new cobalt cerulean and a PBr25 brown to their line, which is pretty neat. Unfortunately these don't seem to be sold anywhere accessible just yet.
