I like both persona's of Josh Tillman, and it's awesome to see how much he has changed with his music and character (most artist are too predictable). I think if he did Farther John Misty as his opening act and then cooled the crowd down with some of his old stuff that would make for a perfect show. Regardless, I'm a follower of his art.
"If you have to die, to kill the desires that you have" Love this man!
Love that I found this in my old likes. So beautiful.
You can tell he always had a little bit of comedian in him even before he made Fear Fun. Ho ho ho XD hilarious.
I keep coming back here, almost a decade later.... such a great moment!
C’est filmé où?
I love you La Blogotheque. You capture the urban paris that reminds me so much of my trip there. I miss paris so much.
pure voice of an angel
***** omg thank you for appreciating it! out of any video i've commented on i didn't think it'd be someone on a j. tillman video to comment on it but i guess shrek works in mysterious ways!
bilbogaybear Shrek is love. Shrek is life. I pray to him every night and thank him for the life I've been given.
I love this video! Not only is there one mother of a tune being perfomed, but theres the world championship of 'who can look most nonchalant whilst in the prescence of something amazing' going on in the background!
Oh man. This is great! My favorite song by Tillman! And is that Aja Pecknold? And the piano player from the Foxes? So cool. Damn. Would kill to be in an environment like this.
I can feel God in this Chili's tonight
@Jules Auston skyler was refrencing a tv show i think that's a little french bar
Interesting how J.Tillman stuff is similar to FJM. But that voice, god damn so pure
I love you La Blogotheque. You capture the urban paris that reminds me so much of my trip there. I miss paris so much. and I love J. Tillman's voice so much.
Mind-blowing. So pure.
This is pure beauty.
This was filmed whenever FF were in Paris in 2009. That's when Josh was wearing that goofy jacket like the dude from Big Lebowski. Standing behind them are Colin (Tillman and Siberian guitarist), Jason (Tillman drummer) and his pedalsteel player from 09 touring.
And next to him his brother (who played bass with the band) and Aja (Robin Pecknold's sister).
None of you know how good this man is. I looked down one night and said killer boots man!!!! Tillman was like WTF? haha we had the same Clarks on at the time. Long story short...he was there with Damien Jurado and Rocky Votolato, it was the best night of music in the Ballroom
I read a lengthy article about this artist in the New Yorker, and I was moved to check out his music. Well, in fact, there are many musical styles in the art world (which is a world we visit voluntarily), and our tastes vary. His music bores me to tears. But his fans -- and the artist himself -- shouldn't and I doubt would care about my opinion as such. I wish him great success.
Sentamentalist!
maybe its time for a new J Tillman record!?
So beautiful. My brother and I watch your channel compulsively. Such a whimsical median to capture intimate moments with such creative minds. From J. Tillman to Jim Harrison. Thank you for giving us this window to peak in. It is so inspiring and has such a natural, living feel.
Simply Lovely.. this song makes me feel content with my life :)
I get you point my friend, and I´m completely agree with your argument, I think an artist always have the concern of innovation or explore empty musical landscapes.
My first comment only refers to the nostalgia of that cancer and delirium sound that captivate me the first time a listened to this man.
Cheers!
ps: sorry but my english kind of sucks I guess
A gem.
I was at that show man! Late Sept in Ann Arbor, right? It was amazing. Couldn't shake the smile for several days afterwards.
I heard one of the Poor Moon tunes a while back. I need to get the album. Christian and Casey's last project was one of my favorite bands for many years.
Why is it that people with awesome beards are always sooooo musically talented?
I'm letting my beard grow long... I'll let you know if something happens
This was gorgeous stuff
Everytime I play josh's music my baby girl will either be still or lightly push toward my phone. Can't believe 4 weeks from now she'll be here.
Another Beautiful piece Blogotheque.
I had just poured myself some brandy, and this video showed up in my subscriptions :) Perfect timing
Said goooooogurt. This is America....
Great song, great song
They have a couple of LPs. Blocked Numbers is my favorite of the two. It is worth checking out. It has loads of style.
Shrine/Argument was definitely a highlight moment of that show... it was like their sound became viscus. We were all swimming in it. Cool chat tin with ya man, let me know what you think about CS if you track 'em down!
amazing voice
DAMNIT HIS BEARD IS SO GOOD! and holy crap his voice!
Still the oh ohh ohhh! dig it!
just saw the fleet foxes live, josh is a badass
PERFECT
oh gosh, i'm speechless
I know this is late response to your comment.. But how amazing were they live!? Best show I have seen yet. Very emotional for me. Their sound wrapped around me like a warm blanket. It is saddening that Tillman left the Foxes. Are you a Crystal Skulls fan by chance?
yet another amazing vid :)
awesome.
If I ever cry to a song it will be this one.
Heartbeat ^
oh, oh, oh.
@glassflowers8 the guy with the mustache, yes :)
Megalike!
@LaBlogotheque Speaking of the Fleet Foxes, are you guys going to upload that other performance? Or just tease us? ^_^
What is this brilliant place? A bar in east village or something?
thats his brother, zach, sitting next to aja, right?
nicenicenice!
Yes!
I dig J.tillman more than the fleet foxes, but thats just me.. The man is good.
Fucking beautiful.
2020 its been years....good old days when people cold sit next to each other
0:20 the moon
1:26
2:50 get that pint off the pool table!
is that Aja next to him?
yes
I believe they dated
Father John Misty should have more of this
Love this version. Haunting as hell... Going through all my fave tracks and throwing this spam up whilst I'm listening. Hate it but I'm certain Josh doesn't mind seeing as the music business is as shit as it is today. Unfortunately... But I just released my first new track after 6 months writing, posting as I mentioned only on vids that i frequently listen to myself. So check it out if ya have 5 mins! Peace and shit tons of good vibes your way
i'd do some sick sick sick unforgivable things to be in that place
i hear ya basket case
This piano arrangement sound a lot like "Your Protector" by Fleet Foxes.
Just sayin.
He used to be their drummer so...
And the keyboard player is the Fleet Foxes' guy too. So that might explain it.
Get that beer off the pool table.
