The line up sounds great but I think they're a little pricey for basic fuji components. I don't mind that its lower modulus but if Raid is going down in graphite and still asking $400 it should have something a little more fun than an ECS reel seat and EVA grips. The warranty helps but those are $6 parts. They look good, I love the concept, just feel like Raid is asking a bit much.
Man I thought the same thing. Until I actually fished the Joker and the Baltoro. God they are sweet rods! FYI if you can wait and assuming THUT has any during there next decent sale. There not price protected like MB and Loomis, Diawa and others. You can generally score an Anti for $350 or so and I scooped up a couple Gladiator Max rods for $460 or so DEFINITELY worth that price point!!
@@The_Bass_Stunters I don't want it to come across like the rods don't fish well, JDM tapers are awesome and are definitely worth it. However, lower modulus material is less expensive and so are EVA grips and the ECS reel seat. The margins on this thing have to be nice. Ben did a good job explaining why this line would be beneficial I have zero issues with that, I just know how much those parts cost.
Ive been down rod wormholes before. A few years back when i started fishing kayak tourneys, i went down one. Because very quick on, i realized that rods i used from a boat or from the bank acted completely different when fishing them from a mostly seated position right on top of the water. My jig rod, and my number 1 texas rods were too heavy and too fast to fish from seated……and basically i had to figure out everything over again. Rod lengths and actions both. I also had to make chsnges in terminal tackle and hooks. I needed as skinny as hooks as i could get away with, for flipping and trebles alike. Gfinesse hooks solved most of my issues, the hybrid worm hook especially, and then the duo nano hooks for most all my cranks. I started using lighter rods with great success. Instead of a m/h fast t-rig rod, id use like a 6’9 medium. Everything changed, and fortunately (or unfortunately from a price perspective) several if the specialty megabass rods became the stuff that worked best.
Question, Ben. I just picked up the diffuser and powerhouse on the Bogo deal. 😊For the Diffuser, I have a Steez A II, that I’ll pair with it. 17, 20lb Fluoro? I can’t decide.
Ben, I always look at Ferrule(s) rods like a hammer or flat head axe...those aren't glued or held down by any thing other then a tight fit and I know from firefighting that we put our axes through hell...literally. These rod's are no different! A master craftsmen design is to never be questioned.
Website suggestion: these rod breakdown videos are fantastic. I would love to see a note on the product page showing "Ben's Recommendation". That way when we hit the site later on we will have the refresher before adding the rod to the cart. Appreciate you guys!
The best ferruled rod I've ever fished was the Gen1 MB Orochi XX Leviathan. The taper and fishability of that stick was unreal. The shorter handle did not bother me, in fact that made it a stellar big walking bait rod and punch rod.
I have the Baltoro Heat 2 Maximum Raid rod and I’m super impressed!! It makes buying another P5 Megabass rod very difficult except for the price tag. The Gladiator Anti rods actually are way more attractive than the Maximum rods by far! I’ll definitely be picking up a couple of the Gladiator Anti rods very soon!
I assume, from your comment, that you own MB P5s? How would you say these rods compare to P5s? I’ve been trying to find an answer to this question for a long time with no success. It would help me a lot to decide between the two. Thank you.
Hi Ben, I know it’s not in your business model but I would love for someone to compare Megabass rod alternatives to P5 in the Orochi and Levante lines. I’m not able to spend $400+ on a rod but one day I might. G Loomis has the same model designations up and down through their price points and while I know there isn’t a direct analog through Megabass, it would help me to know there is a MB rod I can afford rather than other brands. Thanks for what you do…
Ferruled grips are fine. What most people don’t realize is that most major rod companies use spacers annd inserts on the reel seat and still claim that you put your finger on the blank. If that’s the case it’s really no different than a ferruled grip.
all fishing rods for Giant Trevally are split at the handle, I have never seen a rod come off there and those fish are a little bit stronger than Bass.😂🎣
Rods are Made in China. If you buy a new rod, there is a little white sticker on the grip. The Rod himself isn‘t marked and the quality of the build is excellent!

The new Super 7-11 is an amazing deep crank rod absolutely not a punching or bottom contact blank. I’ll definitely be picking this one up! It’s like the OrochiXX Launcher but P5 specs and carbon grip.
If you’ll go to the Megabass Japan home page and look at the Bass Model New Destroyer rods section it lists the action and lure weight specs you can get an idea of what they will be used for. The New Monsterous will be a more “Big Bait” 4oz glide or soft glide bait friendly model. With a longer handle for 2 hand casting vs the Mark 56

Just buy them through japanese resellers. Got my gladiator maximum maxx queen for Like 280€ from a big japanese shop
@@The_Bass_Stuntershad a great deal on joker, looking for a topwater/jerkbait rod, is it good for for that?
Can't wait for the spinning rods
Been loving my Anti rods! They fill some of the gaps in what I need from the P5s, two very complimentary rod lineups IMO.

Trippy line up. Intriguing.
Ben, you do a good job of introducing new things to us. We all have biases/favorites.. And it's hard & expensive to change.

Let's go, been looking at these
Very cool rod line up from Raid!
I've been a huge fan of my Gladiator Maximum lately, it's such a sweet rod!
The one question I’ve been trying to answer myself for a while now is, how do gladiator anti and/or gladiator maximum rods compare to Megabass P5s?
Yea, me too

Do you have any experience with the lycoris brand of rods from Japan ?
Do you guys sell the spinning series I’m not seeing them on your site

Won’t be pulling those out of grass and skipping on the surface 😂
What is with the „Blaster“? You forgot them!?
What color is the jerkbait in the intro? I need that 😅
do you ship those fishing rods to Sweden because I know you don't ship Megabass rods there. 😎👍

Gladiator Anti “The Frogman” ✅
Gladiator Anti “Stride” ✅
Easily replaced my other rods. 🍻
Technically, lures are considered "bait".
