Me too. Can’t beat the long days of summer. The camp shoes are really great. I thought them from REI about three years ago. Really light and really warm. The soles don’t have a tread so slippery on the snow.
There are a couple for RB Winter SP trails in AllTrails which helps a lot. Dakota has done this many times so he was the navigator for this one. The only deviation was we left the SP and jumped on the Mid-State trail to camp.
That’s some real winter backpacking there. Really enjoyed the video. Where did you all end up eating? Backpacking with Jason turned me onto your channel.
@@JeremiahStringer Thanks! I’m a long time subscriber of yours. Welcome. We ended up eating at a Perkins. Kind of like a chain diner. Really good steak and eggs. Great end to a cold trip.
Thanks! Winter it depends on the trip and temps. Sometimes I take more fun stuff or gear for cooking real food and sometimes I don’t. My pack weight for an overnight trip in warm weather is about 16 pounds with food and water. Winter (really cold) I’m in the 40lb range total pack weight. But it depends on the temps. Last winter I did a couple trip in February and I brought my summer gear. This trip I was close to 40lbs.
Quarter til 6 and it’s completely dark 😂 I hate the time change.
I like those camp shoes.
Nice trip and gear 👍🏻👍🏻

I had the hardest time trying to figure the trails and connections when I went so I'm excited to see this route!

@@backpackingadventures4813sounds like a blast 🎉
Great video, as always. Just curious: What's your pack weight for a winter trip vs summer?
