We had these in dehradun ,still might be dying in our city .In dehradun we had these for lime cuveries still lying here .And extemely rare petrol gatus might be lying somewhere. You might be having gatus also i presume. Ford cmp trucks (gatos) used in WW2
This seems to be modified if it was made in India. It seems to be a 1970s model (split windscreen) but originally it did not have a three pointed star emblem. It had a Tata logo. It did not have a vertical external exhaust too. The original Diamler Benz LPT had a one piece windscreen.
NO BROTHER THIS IS TATA MERCEDES BENZ 1967 INDIAN ARMY 4*4 VEHICLE, THIS VEHICLE HAVE ALL PARTS ORIGINAL MERCEDES BENZ LIKE ENGINE, GEARBOX, HOUSING, CHASSIS, ALL DASHBOARD METERS, UNFORTUNATELY THAT BIG LOGO IS DAMAGED SO WE ARE CHANGE NEW LOGO
@@ROYANDCOMPANY Sir, Thanks for the clarification. The Diamler Benz logo on the grill had the words Diesel written in small letters at the bottom, so I got confused. The split windscreen came in 1966 and the T logo in 1969. Also, as I remember the exhaust was not vertical, behind the cab. That came much later. In chassis meant for oil tankers the exhaust pipe was below the front bumper, placed horizontally. Maybe this was a special feature for the Army. Also, I remember that there used to be an orange blinker on the highest point of the front mud guard. Did this engine have a heater? Don't remember when the PC engine got replaced with a DI engine, perhaps after 1969. This video is of special interest to me as my dad worked in Telco from 1957 to 1987. I grew up in Telco colony and had a great interest in the trucks. I remember the changes in the models vividly.
@@TheBandana1969 these were called TMB tata merc benz trucks which were widely used in army, some of the trucks from 70s have served till mid 2000 in army, usually recovery vehicles were TMB till ashok leyland stallions replaced them in 2000s

Indeed, the vehicles seem to have been Army recovery vehicles as they have full metal cabs, observation hatches on the roof (like Army spec trucks).
