    The reason why S2 wasn't outputting is that the the Input signal for it was set to something other than S1 (the first servo). It could have been set to S5 (the servo signal (PWM, PPM, SBUS) input on the right hand side), P1, Key, or Internal. Just rotate the knob to that channel, then change it like you demonstrated. (I'm sure you know this by now, but for anyone wondering in the future...)
    Each channel has its own assignable input, so you can gang them all together or have three of them cycling while you control that channel with your radio. This little box is fantastically powerful!
    Thank you for a great review and demonstration!

    Hi Ducht ,I have an ST8 but I think the amperage measurement is wrong, I am testing two new CORONA servos and it gives me a consumption of 1500mA and the manufacturer says that the consumption is 300/400mA, they are standard servos.

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can't say I'm really surpriced it isn't correct, but this seems like a rather BIG difference. I would not have equipment to check though.. do you?

  • @donaldsneffe
    @donaldsneffe 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    what a pitty you cannot test low voltage servos with this tester. Such as we use in Orlandoos, HK-5330. HK-5320, and more, micro planes and helis...
    I hope ToolKitRC will release an update to make this possible.
    I use a lot of micro LV servos (and build a lot of micro models).

    I have a question. I plan on using something like this as a signaler for my ESC. It is a high power 200amp ESC running a 120mm fan, around 125 amp draw steady. Would this work for something like that? Is there any output requirement based on the ESC, or will any old signal work for any esc?

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Howdy :) that should be possible yes.. basically the input-signal for any ESC is the same (analogue PWM signal) and it's the same as servo-signal input..

    Nice review but S1 and S2 were showing different readings with identical servos, and S4 showed around 30 mA despite having no servo attached?! How about taking one servo and trying it in each port in turn to confirm that they all report the same current? Also ... is there a quick function to centre the servos? This is a very useful feature on conventional testers, when setting up linkages.

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you :) yes, I kinda intentionally made the first 2 servo's perform a bit different by having one of them lift itself up a bit with it's servo-arm.. not a huge load offcourse, but you can indeed see the difference..
      I do indeed wonder what that 30 mA is on the servo-less port..
      Ans yes.. basically you set the output to 1500 mu.. that is also the value the tester starts at.

    The video is not really detailed regarding the functionality. There is much more what this thing might be able to to, which is not mentioned in the video. But unfortunately, it seems to me, that there are a lot of bugs in the software! I used the latest firmware 1.13, and I still do not trust this thing. E.g. , I could not see the current as long as I am not setting the P1 input. I could not see the real impulse, when changing the range (the displayed impulse is never changing values from 1000 - 2000 µs. although the output does!).
    For me, this thing is still in a kind of development phase ant needs to be depuged and updated!

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      One can never (short of making a video that's far to long) cover every detail (OR it's a thing I haven't mastered yet :D could be).. I guess the video is what I thought to be the most important parts but thanks for the feedback!
      Regretably the Chinese businessmodel is: release the product as beta, and if there is enough interest they then Maybe improve it.. Mine seems to still be quite good.. Did I get a cherry-picked one? I don't know...
