    Sadly, except for the places deemed valuable, most of the places were in the same state as they were in the unification wars until the Horus heresy. Even right outside the imperial palace was a wasteland of ruins and barbarians; showing what little they truly saved on their own home planet. Looking towards the stars blinded them from improving what was already theirs.

      +Garrus Vakarian Well he let Lorgar worship him for a century before he decided he didn't like it and started murdering his world. He shows Magnus Chaos and new he wanted him to help fight it then stiffed him at Nicia. Fucked Angron like a sheep. Knowingly allowed Sanguinis to operate believing he didn't know about the flaw. He marched Purturabo into rebellion. O and he drove Konrad even further into insanity. And just to put a peanut on the top of his intergalactic shit Sunday he told Corax that he did all of it cause it was the option he liked the most. If he isn't evil he's so self absorbed he doesn't care about humanity.

      Ok, lets unpack your response (citation listed in parentheses):
      1. Thunder Warriors Being too loyal: (The Forgotten Dead / bits and pieces of game fluff) The Thunder Warriors were always portrayed to me as a group of juiced out psychos barely better than the techno barbarians they fought. The creation that spawned them was rushed and filled with flaws that caused early death. They were also psychologically trained more like the custodies in that they did not have the familial bonds the marines had for protracted rule. The Emperor knew the Thunder Warriors would never be allowed off of Earth before he made them. CONT.

      Nathan Holstrom
      2. The Emperor gave Chaos pieces to play with. I'm willing to follow the Job concept for how the Primarchs ended up getting scattered. I think this idea plays well with the story for how long he treated with the warp and how he bartered for the power to begin with. (The Damnation of Pythos) I believe that Emp’s played on the god’s hubris and allowed for the scattering with the god’s believing they would be able to turn the Primarchs in the time they had alone with them and Emp’s believing his creations would be strong enough to handle it. I believe this for three reasons. 1 - The two purged Primarchs. The only way the two lost Primarchs makes sense to me is if they were erased because they showed a flaw in the Emperor. It’s obvious Emp’s doesn’t mind keeping people that have done bad things but he has never allowed his own errors to enter history (Battle of Mount Ararat, early warp fumbling, Khangba Marwu, etc). I think Chaos did sway those two lost Primarchs before Emp found them. I think they are erased and not branded traitors because they were the price Emp paid for his forsaken knowledge. 2 - At no point did he ever write any of the Primarchs off. Hell he didn’t even write Horus off in the end. So if he went into the fight thinking he was going to sacrifice some of his creations why would he cry over the broken eggs? I will not except “They were his kids” as an answer either. The Emperor of mankind made his second set of weapons with familial bonds because they work as good emotional ties for a large empire, the only real love he has ever expressed is for the human species as a whole. 3 - The golden thrown. (A Thousand Suns, Burning of Prospero and Deliverance Lost) ALL specifically state that the Emperor had intended for Magnus to sit on the Golden Thrown not him. So Emp’s hinged his entire grand plan on a guy he knew was going to shit his pants on game night? CONT.

      +Mr_awesome88 Dorn lost a hand. Manus had metal covering his hands. Vulkan probably got all sorts of things cut off but he got better. I think all of the Primarchs and Emp were whole except Angron before they started attacking each other. Well Mortarion had a cough but otherwise ...

      They were roid raged psychos that were so jacked up on stimulants and augments they would be eaten up with cancer and crazy sauce. Basicly Emp's made an entire army of world eaters before it was kewl. Two are in "the forgotten dead" novel if you're interested.

    • @Sliceofpi
      @Sliceofpi 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nathan Holstrom Arik accepted it while trying to hack/fuck genetic material out of space marines to keep him and his buddy alive so they could keep running their underground prostitute/ drug ring. Because he could accept mass butchery doesn't make him loyal it makes him just as psychotic. I am also fairly sure while he is explaining that he is okay with it (a scene that takes place while he has several people captured and is fixing to go Hannibal on them as I recall) he says it had to be done because the TW's could not be left to rule what they concurred because they were too violent.

      Nathan Holstrom Your fan fiction isn't canon dude.

    • @Sliceofpi
      @Sliceofpi 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jacko,
      It isn’t fanfic. He is correct on the events although I think “The Last Priest” was supposed to be “The Last Church” unless he was going for the future events in “The First Heretic”. Whatever the case he isn’t spewing fanfic and he is not making arguments without providing a line of reasoning.
      Nathan,
      Well since this popped up on my alerts I guess we can talk a bit more. I think we are both well aware that our argument lies in implied intent so let’s have the conversation as two people that know the other has read the material instead of trying to lay our argument out for everyone else to try and follow.
      I think this argument of intent falls on one point in the lore and that is “What did Emp get in the Warp and how?” To my knowledge this question is never directly answered. Here are my conclusions:
      I DO NOT believe that Emp made any deal, bet, pact or plan with the Chaos gods.
      I DO NOT believe that the information to create the Primarchs is accessible or doable by Chaos.
      I BELIEVE Emp knew of the warp prior to mankind leaving Earth and possibly of the war in heaven and Old Ones (Mechanicum, Last Church, Prospero Burns).
      I BELIEVE Emp used either the core of the throne (Deliverance Lost) or the stable warp gate on Molech (Vengeance? Don’t remember the book) to travel to the warp, find the old ones lost bases and glean information for species creation from them. If anyone knows how to make humans better it’s the guys that made them to begin with.
      I BELIEVE Chaos makes claims to a pact or deal with Emp because they are liars and because they lay claim to everything in the warp and I don’t see them letting anyone know any different.
      With those beliefs, the Emp did not lie. There are no God’s only psychic backwash that won’t stay in the bottom of the glass where it belongs.
      It also means Emp would never go for the star god prophecy. A “Warp God” is nothing more than the cast-off leavings of masses of idle imaginations. Emp is WAY to big on being human to take that existence. A mortal enslaving the material universe to ascend to “God Hood” in the warp is EXACTLY what every single Chaos champion in existence is trying to do. It just doesn’t make sense for Emp to go through all the trouble he did just to grab the goal of “Chaos Cultist 1002”.
      The Star Child theory works fantastic in the 40k setting when we didn’t have any info on what the primarchs even were really and Emp was just this plot point in the distant past but that isn’t where we are now. I am totally good with Emp having prescience (I still think he may be a precog from the 25M as described in Outcast Dead and not as old as he states.) I’m good with the webway break being an event he can’t see past. But for Emp to be waiting for humanity to turn him into a warp god so he can beat Chaos is just too simple of an answer to require all of this build up.
