    Watched several of these short films. This was by far the most difficult to endure. The 442nd was made of Volunteers from the Japanese Internment Camps located in the United States. These men were not Drafted, they signed up to fight in Europe and Japan. The 442nd had very high casualty rates, because they took many risks, others would never have attempted to take. Honor these Young Men for their Courage and Bravery. They left behind Family, Friends and in this Soldiers case, a Girl Back Home. Very sad.

    I truly enjoyed this film. I believe there should be a long version along the lines of Band of Brothers made of Historical Facts that still have not been presented to film these days. We have lost almost all that could confirm realities on the set of WWII movies or series. This is a tragedy for history being told correctly moving forward but, as a history buff it would be nice to see a few movies on Japanese in America during WWII also the effect it had on German Americans and also Italian Americans. America got attacked and was at war with many countries in WWII. From what I know; America reacted to save itself and others around the world. Collateral damage in the situation she was in is always inevitable, politically or in any situation there of. This film is Beautiful. It shows the beauty of conflict because of idealism vs reality. 🇺🇸 Never Forget the Americans that did their best to protect the freedom America has today.

    I was sceptical at first but continued watching and this is a really well made film. It's a shame the American soldiers are always cast with such attitude and big mouths as the veterans I have met on Omaha beach were always so polite and showed such humility; perhaps that's just because they came from an altogether more polite era?

    • @IceNinja18
      @IceNinja18 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't call it a polite era, but I think the reason those vets you met were so polite is because they have been through those sort of hardships that "groom" someone into that character. Its just like any group of people, there's always going to be some bad ones.

    Great film, all I can pick on is that one member of the squad shouldve had a Thompson and another with a Browning Automatic Rifle, then the film wouldve been perfect in the setup of an actual WW2 squad. But either way great film.

    • @wbertie2604
      @wbertie2604 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thompsons were only issued from company headquarters for specific purposes, not as general infantry squad equipment. It wasn't a full squad (12 men), so no reason why the BAR would have necessarily been present. All I can pick on is the use of 'click' for km - was that in use in WW2? And also a white T-shirt - not generally Army issue, should have been olive drab. Not all the US helmets may be WW2, but the difference is small.

    • @IceNinja18
      @IceNinja18 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also it seems like the squads is made up of some leftovers based off of what that guy when Ishakawa joined up with them about "sir, the squads too thick" and "we can take on another rice ball." My only complaint is the tactics used to ambush. I don't do a whole lot of research on that kind of stuff, but it seemed like basically no one at all was in position or ready for the attack. I was thinking maybe they would scatter them with grenades then pick them off as they flee, but then again it was a bridge. The Germans seemed to be putting down mines on the bridge anyway and they probably wouldn't have destroyed it. Anyway great film just a few things some of us like to be picky about.
