Only thing it was missing which we got in underground 2 was the free roam aspect of the game the best need for speeds other then most wanted In my opinion ever made

I remember just sitting in awe and analyzing how much joy this game gave me. 13 years later, it still leaves me amazed and almost teary eyed. These few games were NFS at their Truest.

I beat the game in 9:47:31 with the Civic and a lil help from skyline in January 2021 The only race I restarted was Skirt the Issue like seriously the rubberbanding was awful

I recently beat this game (last races against Eddie and Mystery driver on hard mode) with the Mazda you get at the beginning. The rubber band effect was stupid. It made me feel like it didn't matter at all how fast or well I drove since the rubber band effect would just take it all away. All that mattered was that I drove solid and didn't make a big mistake. But good thing about the rubber band effect was that it made the game a lot harder - didn't allow me to play really well for 3 laps and get a big lead which would allow me to make a big mistake and still win - didn't matter if I had 3 perfect laps behind me, no mistakes allowed.

Caleb says he liked the protagonist's reputation so he offers the protagonist an offer and Caleb also says he doesn't take no for an answer without an answer Caleb makes the protagonist destroy the Skyline then some time later the protagonist goes to Bayview and there he goes winning races and sponsorships until running against Caleb to recover everything that Caleb made the protagonist lose

Gage Mattson nope, he is not unbeatable (he is deafeated by the main character of NFS 2015), and yeah Underground 2 takes places after the protagonist did become really famous in real life (no dreaming), he does have an Skyline yet we never get confirmation that it was Eddie´s. But you dont have to take my word as the absolute truth, thats just my take on the game.

why is this game so good and loved? because the AI was an actual challenge, great customization and racing, and a kickass soundtrack!
