If you're a PC gamer there is a mod called N'Hanced. It removes a lot of the unnecessary and repetitive bloat and I quite enjoyed my time with Crash 4 after installing it. EDIT: NVM it's mentioned in the video. I'll leave it here in case you missed it or skipped it.
@@russellwestbrook462 Most of Bethesda's games are buggy and lacking content in some areas, so they mostly rely on their community to indirectly fix their games with mods. This has even lead to Bethesda selling some of these community made mods on their in-game stores. They really have become complacent over the years.
as much as I love crash 4, I just can’t see myself ever 106%ing the game. as rewarding as I’m sure it is I’m not sure if I have the will power to die on toxic tunnels in the same place 4921 times while attempting the perfect relic.
Certainly. I had few key moments like the super fast metal bouncy crate in "the gauntlet" part, that when I got to it, I had roughly 50/50 chance whether I will continue the level, or hit restart.
@@blue_red_screen Blind hype when it came out and I was too deep down in the rabbit hole to get back out. I simply pushed forward since I wasnt too far off at that point. At the end, there was no satisfaction, just a sigh of relief I was done. That's why.
@@birthd-y I enjoyed it but never even slightly considered completion as I realised how bs that would be early on. Infinitely benefitted from that realisation
As someone who spent many hours doing the Polar sections because of the pre-patch hitboxes, I can tell you the frustration significantly shortened my life.
All you really get for 106% is a 7 second cutscene that reveals Uka Uka isn't actually dead, so I wouldn't say it is. The regular 100% ending gives you a rundown on what happened to the characters after the events of the game, and I'd say most Crash fans can at least get a kick out of that one.
Crash 4 is such a great any% experience and one that can be enhanced by setting your own personal completion metic (i.e. if collecting all Hidden Gems or Sapphire Relics works for you, then go for it), but the designated 106% completion is just ridiculously demanding that I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking to retain good memories about Crash 4 once they're done. I just fully completed it on the new N. Hanced mod for the PC version created by Rayrobi and that mod is such a game changer! Completely overhauls the definition of completing Crash 4 and remixes crate placements while adding in the new Hyper Spin that feels faster and more consistent to perform than the regular Triple Spin. If going for completion, I'd only recommend it while using that mod, otherwise set your own goal and peace out before it drains you. Forgot to mention, N. Hanced completely removes N Verted levels and more than halves the Gem count so it's all just SO much more refreshing to work through. Highly recommend it!
Hello, I just bought Crash 4 and also N. Hanced mod, but idk if it will ruin my gameplay.. like, if it makes the game so much easier, or only does it only makes the make more fair? I know that Crash 4 is extremely dif but I do wanna a hard game... is it worth it to play it the first time with the mod?
@@emmnueljm Hi there! I think it evens out the difficulty curve fantastically. It keeps the hard bits the same (stuff that actually required dexterous reflexes and well time jumps are still there), but makes it so the more questionable completion metrics are extremely toned down. Luckily, if you're still looking for a tough challenge in this mod and feel the main stages are a little easy, the remixed Flashback levels will DEFINITELY give you a run for your money. The last couple ones were probably the hardest parts in this playthrough for me. Of course, you'll have to play to see if you enjoy it, but I have a feeling you will!
Wow! This is the best review I've heard for Crash 4 in general, way to go! I personally got burnt out with it for the reasons you've covered, and I haven't gone back to it - at all. I think it would have more sense to "unlock" the N-verted mode upon completion of the game, i.e. 100% the game then you can "200% the game" through N-Verted mode etc. Your suggestions were also very on point and I honestly hope Toys For Bob watch this in their staff room XD
Crash 4 is a lovely game for someone like me, a retired gamer, to watch someone dedicated and skilled like you play. I've been watching Crash 4 gameplays since its release and it does look very painful that the N. Verted gems are required. God bless you for enduring it!
Guys am I the only one who noticed this? So in crash 4 the gag is about cortex being constantly defeated for the fourth then fifth time but it’s actually the 5th and 6th time in warped after u get all the crystals u defeat Cortex for the third time but when u get all the gems u need to fight cortex again which makes it the fourth time then fifth snd 6th time
for your health: no if you want lose your goddamn mind with all the inverted gem nosense and absolute atrocious hidden boxes just for a secret 10 ish second cutscene and a save file with 106% written on it?...ehm...yep sure why not
I loved Crash 4 and how much it reminded me of my childhood. But I play games to enjoy them, so I did not have any desire to complete it which was a little sad. My favorite was the flashback tapes by far because of the challenge and simplicity. If you're looking for more content, I'll say I enjoy watching deep analysis of mechanics of games and what people think about individual mechanics and levels. I'm new to the channel so I don't know if you've done stuff like that already, but I definitely prefer opinion and analysis videos over simply gameplay videos. But that's just me! 😁
In the last one year and a half I’ve completed Crash 2 and Crash 3 Platinum trophies and am 7 platinum relics away from finishing Crash 1’s trophy. Then I will tackle CTR racing’s platinum. Finally next year I will start my journey for Crash 4 106% completion. These have been literally the most challenging things I’ve done in gaming, by far. Only Yiazmat from FF12, DMC’s Virgil, and god of war queen Valerie came anywhere close. But the joy and feeling after completion really is one of the highest highs of life. So for me, I’d say in the end, it will be worth it.
It's not like playing n-verted mode unlocks extra new levels or something, it's just late game skins and a 6 second long teaser ending. I think it's fine, I guess people really feel bad when the number doesn't go up at the file select...
Great video Lewis, having recently got the 106% I completely understand the N.Verted Level comments. It just felt like they finished and went, it's not long enough and someone said "Add a filter, double it and pass it on"...! Rush Hour with the water filter, BECAUSE THAT LEVEL NEEDED TO BE ANY LONGER?! 😂😂 I'd have taken more Flashbacks over N.Verted any day.
My 106% save file ended at 101 hours, so not too far off yours. Loved it apart from the N.Verted Gems and the repeats in alternate timeline levels. Some hidden gems and boxes were kinda dumb too, and the gem count was N.Sanely padded. So yeah, my answer is "with the N.Hanced Mod yes. Without it, no"
I think the flashback tapes should have been the no death reward especially as they are moved further in the level as the game goes on instead of the N sanely perfect relics.
Honestly, no. Unless you like to annoy yourself. I do not like the route they took for completion whatsoever. The next game should be more like Rayman 2 or Toy Story 2 in terms of completion approach. They should drop the relics & NVerted mode entirely i'd say, and the hidden collectibles.
It's worth it if you're looking for a good challenge to overcome in a game. Seeing all the achievements done in my steam profile and having both N sane trilogy with platinum relics and crash 4 106% with all 38 developper relics feels satisfying. One thing for sure is that I'm not touching time trials until Crash 5 drops since it was really time consuming.
The N.Verted levels are just a quick and easy way to massively add to the game’s play time to make it seem more worth the price point, while adding no actual value to the game. The game would be better without them
I've owned this game since it released and only now finally had the courage to complete it and honestly I fell back in love with it, the triple spin definitely put me off at first but like, yea, it's so much more engaging and just more fun than holding forward and run
Ive never loved and hated a game such as this in my life. Crash 4 is 1 of a kind that ill never forget completing and would never touch again. The inverted levels is the absolute worst part of the game followed by the insanely perfect relics and time trails. Everything else (minus the hidden boxes and music) was fantastic
Yea i think the series was at its best with the original 2 games where they didnt have the time trials and im my opinion crash 4 and could have been a vary good game if they hadnt had them and also let you have the nsanly perfect relic as long as every bot was broken
@@MR-SINISTER76 I will never understand why adding optional content to give people more things to do is a bad thing. That's exactly why I think it's so dumb when people bitch about the fact they added relics to Crash 1 & 2 in the N sane trilogy. Nothing is forcing you to complete them, and in fact you can still 100% complete the game without even touching them. They're just giving you something else to do, and lots of people find them fun and rewarding. Just because something exists in the game that CAN be completed, doesn't mean you HAVE to, and if you choose to do it while knowing you're not going to enjoy it, that's entirely your fault.
Have you thought about playing the new AstroBot game on the channel? I think it would be sort of a nice breath of fresh air after the tortures that is 106% completing Crash 4. I would certainly watch it.
The levels are too long and trying for even basic time trial completion. Warped was better designed for that (coming from someone who got all platinums back in PS1 version). And having to mash the spin button to go faster adds an extra layer of annoyance. It should have been the run ability and allow the player to perform good times by focusing on the core platforming challenges.
Crash 3 was literally designed around those time relics. I agree. They should have implemented the running shoes. But even then to keep one button pressed the entire time with levels that long is weird.
after 106%ing the game twice, heres what i'll say. completing crash games is the way to prove you're a master at it. when someone platinums the trilogy or beats the developer times in ctrnf you just know he's perfected the game. with the crash 4 platinum, it doesnt feel like that. half of the completion process is just redo-ing things u've already done. getting inverted gems, n.sanely perfect relics after getting all the gems, etc. so 106% didnt feel as rewarding as the individual feats like the plat relics. i feel like its more satisfying to say "ive beaten all the levels in crash 4 without dying" than to say "ive 106%ed the game", cuz the 106% is stuffed with garbage nonsense and filler. the filler is the worst part of the game. the devs didnt have faith in the core product so they added a bunch of extra stuff to lengthen it, which is honestly insulting to both us and them. i wouldve completed this game tens of times if they removed ALL the gems, since they are literally just the n.sanely perfect relics in bite-size form. i think getting the plat relics and perfect relics are worth doing, but nothing more.
Depends how you define fun. Challenge is one thing. But everything in moderation. Crash 4 took everything that made the trilogy challenging and amped it up to 11. Between 8 and 9 I would have had more fun. But on 11 the game developers just expect too much for too little to gain.
I had a blast getting 106% on Crash 4. I put off the platinum relics for years and was sitting at 104% until two weeks ago when I found out you don't need to use the triple spin or slide spin to get platinum. I was able to get all plats in under a week and I feel very accomplished. It's absolutely worth the bragging rights.
Just got the platinum trophy for this game not that long ago. It was very painful but overall I had a lot of fun going for full completion. The first 3 games are nothing compared to Crash 4 in terms of difficulty. I’m pretty excited to go back and revisit them.
I agree with the N. Verted Mode. People don't like the perfect or platinum relics for completion but I think those were actually fun to collect. Though the perfect relics can be annoying because of many hidden boxes, but they can be fine when you know where all of those boxes are hidden. Platinum relics are tough but they are tough by its level design. They also alter the crate design more noticeably. In my opinion, the platinum times are less strict in Crash 4 than they were in Crash 3. You can cut so much more time in this game that it doesn't surprise me that some developer times are like about 20 seconds earlier than the platinum time, even in some shorter stages. Also I prefer the triple spin over the running shoes. It takes more skill and breaks boxes and defeats enemies a lot better without having to slow down. Also you can combine it with the slide spin. The N. Verted Gems are easily the worst ones, they are just padding. But credit to that mode, they made some hidden crates like from Rude Awakening 2:03 or Blast To The Past actually easier to spot and Mosquito Marsh was generally fun with its increased speed, too. So I think keeping them but making them optional would have been a good idea. My only real complains about this game are the N. Verted Gems, the overuse of hidden boxes and gems and the timeline stages not ending with the other character already. The game is still my favorite in the series even after completing it nine times (you read it right). Once for every developer relic and once for speedrunning the game in less than 15 hours.
Im supprised u didn’t mention you need a TH-cam guide for almost all levels to find the hidden gem or hidden crates. But then again you had the chat for you there
I'm glad you mentioned the N. Hanced mod. It just makes a good game great by removing much of the gratuitous fluff that brings Crash 4 down a bit. I liked Crash 4 when I played it a few years ago, but I never bothered to complete it. A lot of the extra content just all felt unnecessary. I probably will never replay Crash 4, but I still go back to the original trilogy as they just are more replayable since they have more reasonable completion requirements and levels don't really drag on too long. If there is a Crash 5, I hope the developers realize that more content does not mean quality content.
The N. Sanely Perfect Relics are the only thing i hate about the game. I'm actually okay with all the other 100% requirements. I love the challenge of going for all the gems in a level and I don't mind getting the gems in N. Verted either. I wouldn't even mind if the 3 death gem was a no death run gem instead. The Flashback Tapes and Platinum Relics are great and add a lot to the Crash experience. But man, the N. Sanely Perfect relics suck all the fun from it. The absurd amount of crates in a level wouldn't be a problem, but mix that with all the hidden crates and having to do it all in one go, it makes me not want to do them.
No, the triple spin sucks, the inverted levels are just an ugly filter sometimes, the hitboxes are broken (rip crate gem on riding levels) and the non crash levels still have a crash portion that is near identical to a previous crash level
Doing a 106% run for the third time and the game truly does feel easy now. Apparently the devs are good at it too because in an interview they thought the game would be too easy lmao
I’ve got the original trilogy platinum and currently finishing Spyro 3 to have its trilogy done. I started crash 4 5 months ago to grind all achievements out while working on other games in between. So far I’ve done 6 platinums and still don’t have crash 4. I’m almost at the point of calling it off given it has been a completely unenjoyable experience. The normal game is fantastic, 106% however has been an absolute nightmare.
I've completed this 106% and have just finished perfection/n.sane relics (platinums still to come) in N. Hanced. As the current me, I think N. Hanced makes it a lot easier to go through a lot - which messed with muscle memory, even getting Perfection relic on Toxic Tunnels on my first run and made me feel like it is too easy. But for someone who is new, it most definitely feels like the game as it should have been from the start ,and it gets rid of all the unnecessary bloat and BS box placement that will frustrate people -- the only downside is when you play as other characters the levels are shortened too much make those levels feel short, but if I was new and did not know about the existence of those levels, I would be better off for sure and it would have made the 106% experience a lot more palatable.
0:39 there there Lewis, dry your tears. 😔 my nephews played CB4 2021-2022 then they uninstalled it later that year. They only collected the gems, Normal & N Verted mode. They mostly gave up on time trial cause they had more gold, & 3 or 4 platinum relic..? and that was their game history with CB4.
Personally i think it would be worth it. Crash 4 is by far the hardest Crash game to date and if i could complete the game it is definitely something i be happy about. I even think they should do a achievement certificate that you can print out for completion. This game is for the hardcore gamer.
yea i never rly finished this game lmao, it just wasnt my thing honestly but i dont think its the game cus alot of people loved it and completed it, im just so attached to the main big 3 but still gave it a try, really hope we somehow get another kind of kart racer
What is it worth if you need months or even years to get everything? People have lives and other things to do. Besides as a gamer I have other games to enjoy. It is not so that my life hinges on one game. If the levels were like in the original games, shorter and with better hit detection, I would consider it. But let me ask you this. How many times do you go out of your routine and platinum Crash 4? Once in your entire life? I tend to play games multiple times IF they allow me to. Crash 4 felt a bit short on the replay aspect.
I'm so close to earning the platinum trophy, the whole game wasn't that difficult to go through, it's just Crash Landed, this level alone took me 1 entire week of attempts to get the perfect relic, even toxic tunnels didn't took me that much
no saved y'all 20 minutes a longer comment would've been smth like "doesn't respect players time" blah blah blah you get the idea. This game feels like every level is Cold Hard Crash, my fav level from Crash 2, it wouldn't be my fav if EVERY LEVEL was like that in Crash 2. Crash 2 doesn't have a worthy reward at the end either but it's by far one of the best games to complete, doesn't take that long either so for any newcomer reading this, 2 is the only one worth completing. CTR as well and perhaps 1 if you're a masochist like yours truly
I would say that some of the compilation requirements are very fun to do like the flashback tapes and most of the gems are satisfying, the n verted mode and the perfect relics kinda kills it for me because they've just here to force you replying the same levels but slower or with more pressure on you to not die once, I love this game a lot and it's my favorite in the series but they should have not added the n verted mode and the perfect relics as a part of completion.
To be honest... is anything in life really worth anything at all? (...well... if you compare it to the Crash Bandicoot 4 completion, then yeah, it totally is. ...big respect to anyone who got the platinum, though!)
If you loved Crash 4 and it's one of your favourite Crash Bandicoot games but you never completed it because you've heard horror stories of it from your favourite youtubers or something, I think you should give it another shot when you have time. Surely you won't mind spending so much time playing a game you genuinely enjoyed, there's great stuff in this game and you may get some satisfaction from completing the game. There are also a few things you can do to make this process less tedious, like playing levels with more of a "spare time" approach rather than starting a level with the objective of doing everything in one shot as if you could know all its secret as soon as you enter the level, maybe doing this stuff on your own pace and choosing which tasks you would like to do first instead of thinking too much of what you have to do first in order to save time. Rushing to 106% is a pain. If you think Crash Bandicoot 4 was good (and I do), good enough or just fine as a whole, I recommend taking the good you had from the game (and even if It's About Time is not one of my favourite games, I still think it has its great moments that make it worth playing) and leaving because it doesn't get any better after the credits roll; I personally liked the time trials (mostly) and the flashback levels, but the rest of it was not worth my time at all
I think Devs tend to think of the community as one group, in this case, the group that are good at these games, I don't really think they consider the middle of the road kind of players. I'm trying to decide if I want to get the platinum trophy in this game. I might try and play through on a different account and finish the story to see if I would be able to do the relics and gems.
For me no. It was stressful enough for me to achieve 100% wit all gems n verted gems and platinum flashback medals. I can't imagine doing platinum relics and n sanely perfect relics. Toys for Bob definitely went a little sideways making this. Love them for doing but hate how they executed it.
I'm the rare breed that actually enjoyed getting the Nsana Perfect Relics. Also the Platinum Relics are the best in the series and not that hard at all, original Crash Warped was waaaay harder for platinum. Nverted gems are clearly filler but I didn't mind them since I would get them in my practice runs for the Nsane Relic, sometimes getting all the nverted gems and perfect relic in one go.
See, I think some of the Platinum Relics are super hard whereas others aren't in Crash 4. This is just my opinion, but I personally think the difficulty of achieving the relics in Crash 3 vs. Crash 4 is about the same, especially if you factor in the length of the levels in Crash 4. In other words, sometimes the levels of Crash 4 can be long and the plat. relic times take that into consideration so the times are a little more lenient. But also when I consider levels like the last few (Cortex Castle or even Nitro Processing - I think that's the name?), they can be tough just to get through the level, let alone get a good time. I think some of the times are strict in Crash 4's plat. relic times like Crash 3 had. N. Sanely Perfect Relics take forever to complete, but some feel satisfying to complete; others, just... annoying, imo. See, that's exactly my issue with this game -- it's the amount of filler content it has. But if you are just going for a casual run-through of the game, sure, I can understand how people don't mind playing the game and enjoy it. But, see, from my perspective, having played the original games, I always have that desire to go for full completion, so this game kinda kills my desire to go for full completion, lol, because of it's intense difficulty and completion requirements. I'm actually someone who didn't mind N. Verted mode, either. Though, I certainly think the requirements for completion (having N. Verted mode included) are once again kinda silly. Some of the N. Verted modes worked and others didn't. Though, I find it cool that this mode exists, putting different filters on the levels and such.
Preach. Crash 4 has the easiest platinum time requirements of the 4 games and you don't need to use the triple spin or slide spin. I love perfect relics too!
@@tellemstevedave5559 Uhh, bruh, I'm pretty sure you do need to use the triple spin in some levels (I would even go as far as to say most levels) to achieve the platinum time trial relics. Some times were so tight you couldn't make them without the triple spin.
To me this game would be a lot better if they chopped moat levels in half and each part half is a separate stage. The game made to me 3 choices that each on their own improve the game, but together break it. Longer levels means more fun but less ability to squeeze in just one more quickly. However, combining this with the stricter player requirements broke me. I'm a crash trilogy in a weekend kind of guy. I got the familiarity and love with the franchise. I love starting on a friday afternoon, and racing full completion of all three games before sunday night, including the extra gem from all golds in 3. This game though... The longer levels, often combined with a lack of in-game hints at secrets, the nsanely perfects and the base requirement of plats with this much harder movement mechanic, is too much.
My only issue with the game is that they advertised it as crash 4 that follow the original 3 games when it nothing similar at all! Wish they said its a spin off game of crash.
I completed all the gems and the N Sane perfect relics, because that was enjoyable for me. I stopped before the Platinum time trial relics because that didn't seem fun (honestly would have felt like punishment)!
To me it was worth it although it's pure pain and agony. I don't know how to describe it, but the game have the perfect difficulty for those who were heavily into original Crash trilogy and because of that the task of completing the game for 106% felt like a challenge designed specially for these kind of people. I felt like child again trying to remember my platforming Crash skills.
There are 2 types of people: those who find the Platinum Relic the hardest part of the level and those who find the N.Sanely Perfect Relic the hardest part of the level
Yeah same here. If I could do it, ANYONE CAN! (I cant stress that enough) Its just, it aint worth it. Regular 100%?! Sure. The ending at least is satisfactory. PS. (Its STILL 0.2% people that have got the platinum trophy for this game, at least on Playstation.)
It's one of the most frustrating games I've played in my life, and I've been a fan of Crash games since the ps1. I managed to complete the original trilogy multiple times in the ps1, and got the N Sane trilogy first day it was released. I completed everything in the N Sane trilogy in less than 60 hours, and after 80+ hours I managed to complete barely 60% of Crash 4. I got to the level "Run it Bayou" and after about 5 hours of failed attempts to get the N Sane perfect relic I said "Fuck this shit" and just used a trainer to complete the rest of the game. As soon as I got 106% I immediately uninstalled the game. I haven't felt more frustrated with a game in years. The triple spin also sucks. What a terrible end-game "reward"
As someone who just did a whole stream of the crash series and with a challenge of collecting ALL gems and crystals i say to this HELL NO I AM NOT DOING THAT AGAIN!!!! (We also did a death counter)
Something else is that 106% completion time with vary a lot depending on skill level. I took around 70 hours I think but I'm also decent at platformers. I've seen people get through it in just 50-60 because they looked up every hidden gem and bum rushed it. I think I only ever looked up one or maybe two gems; I went through every level multiple times gem hunting and easily could have shaved off many hours if I didn't. For people that aren't good at platformers you have the problem in that it can take 150+ hours to try to do everything because they have to do those super hard sections multiple times which can turn people off the game entirely which is a shame since it's a great time. Love the game to bits but the repetition made it miserable to platinum.
In my case it was worth it for the sake of overcome an incredibly difficult challenge, but the 106% cinematic is lame. I know it is supossed to be a teaser for a sequel, and it's not meant to reveal too much, but it's still not worth it.
Honestly, the completion requirements for this game make it far and away my most hated Crash game, it really dragged the experience down for me. What made me enjoy the Crash series was the N. Sane trilogy and in particular, completing those games felt like a decently fair and fun challenge. Crash’s identity to me felt based around completing those levels and getting the gems. So with Crash 4 and all its bloat and their love of hiding crates, I can’t really find a good middle ground for playing the game in a way that makes what works here fun. I hated 106 percent, so that’s just automatically out. I can’t just go from the beginning of the game to the end, since then it feels too substanceless. And if I try and just go for box gems, those hidden boxes rear their ugly heads again and it becomes unfun for that. And it’s a shame since this is the best Crash himself has ever played. Your movement options feel amazing, the new masks are fun, the whole experience is just a really solid time on that. The extra characters are all decently fun, but Crash (and Coco) really do make this game feel great to control. What I would do to fix this is make a LOT of the experience optional for bragging rights. Time trials were my most hated part since the triple spin caused me physical pain to try pulling off on harder stages, so dial that back to gold relics for completion. N. Verted being optional is also a good call- it’s a fun way to give levels more to do, but it’s tedious. And Perfect Relics REALLY needed to be bragging rights rewards. Most everyone hated that system in Crash 1, which is why N. Sane changed it. So just make it optional here so people who want to can go for it, but people who aren’t as skilled or just hate bringing back terrible, hated mechanics (like me) can just not bother with it. Maybe make Flashback Levels only need a clear, not the full completion, but those mostly were neat even if a few were not fun near the end. Crash 4 is a good game, but MAN the completion requirements and bloat just ruined it for me.
I remember when I saw all the requirements for completion I was like "nah not for me mate" but here I am with 106% completion since march 2023 and watching you complete the game made me realize how excrutiating it is and I still can not believe I managed to do it without feeling burned out. It didn't felt that hard when I was doing it because I wanted the 106% so much. It was so much fun for me !
Only one out of the trilogy, 4 and ctr I’m not ever completing. I’ve done the others but not this. Great game but the completion is the definition of pain
Crash 1,2, and 3 were easy to 106 on replay because of the levels being easy to remember as well as to navigate as well as the requirements being more friendly. Crash 4 takes that shit and ramps it up to be impossible. Hidden gems are fun to find, the less than death 3 can be a pain. Not to mention getting cassette tapes without dying cause if you do, you’d have to restart the entire level til you get the tape. The all boxes gem makes a return and it’s devious as all hell. To the point you’d have to question yourself did you really get all boxes or is the game trolling you. The time relics are fine in this, but getting developers relic is beyond hard unless you’re good at the game. And even if you have all that in the normal levels, you’d have to do the same shit TWICE!!! In N verted mode. I literally gave up on 106% the game because of….polar…that level made me quit 106% the game entirely. The controlling on that bear is so bad that it’s so unfair to get all boxes, not die three times, get the hidden gem, and then even after all that do it again, TWICE!! So no, it’s not worth it. You’d have to be an absolute king at the game to 106% the game.
16:48 that exactly what i thought, TfB genuinely thinks the game is too easy and perhaps they want to extend the playtime with the game so people will talk about for longer and perhaps satisfy Activision's interest. The last half of Crash 4's completion can already exceed the playtime of Crash Trilogy combined lmao You didn't mention this, but on top of all of that completion bloats, there's the stupidly hidden boxes and gems without giving you hints, which already demoralizing enough on your first run, and you're more likely to forget that 1 specific box are when you're revisiting the level, which is really annoying and demotivated me to replay the level because 1 hidden un-hinted box. Especially when you're on a N-sanely Perfect pace At the very least Crash 2's secrets are cryptic, but this one barely gave you hints at all without somoene else helping you.
Personally, i would cut the n.sane relics and maybe change the n.verted to just a single hidden gem (not the others, just to make you try the mode for each level and not force you to do anything except finding the new hidden spot). I was about to lose my mind with those fucking n.sane relics and made me somewhat hate this game
I am currently on my second attempt at 106% the game. my first completion took 93 hours. my second attempt is at 102%. I only need the time trials done. I am at around 30 something hours.
Crash 4 is so bad it’s actually incredible. The art style is disgraceful and looks like the game is intended for 5 year olds, yet the levels are designed in a way that they’re trying too hard to “be hard” it’s like the OG crash is dark souls, a great game that people think is hard and crash 4 is a souls like, terrible game that was made to be “harder” but the gameplay isn’t fair at all. One of the most disappointing games of all time for me, the only positive things about crash 4 are the levels with no new mask gameplay, only crash gameplay, so basically like 5 levels
I'm trying to achieve 100% through gold relics and tape bonus levels. N. Sane and platinum relics are a no go for me. Could I get them with patience and practice? Yes. Do I want to invest an important part of my free time in the next years or so doing it? Nope.
Imagine installing a mod to make the base game "better".

as much as I love crash 4, I just can’t see myself ever 106%ing the game. as rewarding as I’m sure it is I’m not sure if I have the will power to die on toxic tunnels in the same place 4921 times while attempting the perfect relic.
Certainly. I had few key moments like the super fast metal bouncy crate in "the gauntlet" part, that when I got to it, I had roughly 50/50 chance whether I will continue the level, or hit restart.

Boi that cutscene doesn’t matter much
The platinum does tho
Yeah, the ending to Crash 4 is anti-climactic.. ngl
I just wanna get all skins and maybe to 100%
The food space levels made me go into another hiatus with this game
@@Weighty68 Thank you so much!! I guess I'll use the mod then
So in crash 4 the gag is about cortex being constantly defeated for the fourth then fifth time but it’s actually the 5th and 6th time in warped after u get all the crystals u defeat Cortex for the third time but when u get all the gems u need to fight cortex again which makes it the fourth time then fifth snd 6th time
The Snaxx Dimension N-verted levels genuinely gave me labyrinth zone flashbacks
for your health: no
if you want lose your goddamn mind with all the inverted gem nosense and absolute atrocious hidden boxes just for a secret 10 ish second cutscene and a save file with 106% written on it?...ehm...yep sure why not
I loved Crash 4 and how much it reminded me of my childhood.
I hope to get the Platinum Trophy before Crash 5 releases. Which gives me at least 12 more years to do it.
You have plenty of time
@@WumpaLewis great review in Crash 4.
One more thing you forgot to mention is hilariously hidden gems. I personally think that person who found them all by themselves is a cyborg.
Mainly because most people will just look them up, whereas looking up platinum relic attempts doesn’t mean too much until you beat it
@@WumpaLewis The thing is with the hidden gem they are mostly fine not too cruelly hidden with the exception of a few like the one in Run it Bayou.
At least in the old games they told you which levels to go to.
Even more dumb is the hilariously hidden boxes, which sometimes are even more hidden than the gems for whatever reason
I would kick that madman in the balls who came with up with the hidden crates
Always nice to see polar upload
My 106% save file ended at 101 hours, so not too far off yours. Loved it apart from the N.Verted Gems and the repeats in alternate timeline levels. Some hidden gems and boxes were kinda dumb too, and the gem count was N.Sanely padded. So yeah, my answer is "with the N.Hanced Mod yes. Without it, no"
I think the flashback tapes should have been the no death reward especially as they are moved further in the level as the game goes on instead of the N sanely perfect relics.
Famouse last words "hey im going to get %106 on crash 4.
I died 256 times on Toxic Tunnels just trying to get the box gem alone, so there's your answer.
The game would be better without them
Because for losers like me learning how to plat every level isn't gives more playtime with the game 😂
Fuck you Toys for Bob, fr
Really the only gems they need is the all box gem and the hidden gem
This is spot on, people are always complaining about the perfect relics but they add a fun level of challenge to the game.

As someone who loves Crash 1, I wholeheartedly welcome perfect relics lol. They're so fun to me.
No, the triple spin sucks, the inverted levels are just an ugly filter sometimes, the hitboxes are broken (rip crate gem on riding levels) and the non crash levels still have a crash portion that is near identical to a previous crash level
Yeah. Hitboxes are a disaster in this game
106%ing Crash 4 actually inspired me to go back to the N. Sane Trilogy and beat the time trials there.
my nephews played CB4 2021-2022 then they uninstalled it later that year.
I don't think most people completed the game to 106% tbh, it takes a lotta patience
It’s about time, literally physically mentally actually 😂
I also think they should have cut the box count down a tad and not put to many stupidly hidden crates like the ones of screen
Man with all platinum relics across the mainline crash games says he isn’t good at the games. Give yourself some credit homie
I'm so close to earning the platinum trophy, the whole game wasn't that difficult to go through, it's just Crash Landed, this level alone took me 1 entire week of attempts to get the perfect relic, even toxic tunnels didn't took me that much
7:15 They needed to add 'Crash Boom Bang' mechanics "BOOM"
New filter, it crash! Boom! BANGED! all over the screen as you play. FANTASTIC IDEA! 💀
no
saved y'all 20 minutes
a longer comment would've been smth like "doesn't respect players time" blah blah blah you get the idea.
I got my platinum A month ago,literally August 7.
It wasn't worth it. Sh*t destroyed my mind, Lmao.
100% yes. 106% heck no.
15:21 what about Stormy Ascent The high road road to nowhere and sunset vista
Possibly,if you love the game and want to to it all,go for it,but if you just want to do the story, nah
I completed all the gems and the N Sane perfect relics, because that was enjoyable for me. I stopped before the Platinum time trial relics because that didn't seem fun (honestly would have felt like punishment)!
Got 106% two weeks ago, it was a great experience but at times felt irritating! Safe to say I’m finally done with Crash 4 👋🍻
Good question.
5:35 Let’s all be grateful for not having N. Verted time and N. Sanely perfect relics included. 🙏🏻
Great video
There are 2 types of people: those who find the Platinum Relic the hardest part of the level and those who find the N.Sanely Perfect Relic the hardest part of the level
N.Hanced mod for PC folks. It makes the game incredible to complete
Yeah same here. If I could do it, ANYONE CAN! (I cant stress that enough)
Its just, it aint worth it.
The 6 second Uka Uka cutscene doesn't even mean anything, now that they cancelled the Crash and Spyro crossover game...
I mean, spending hours and hours just to see 5 seconds extra trailer of game that got cancelled
Crash 4 is a good game, but MAN the completion requirements and bloat just ruined it for me.
you kinda inspired me to plat every stage now witch its only missing form 100%
I cant do it boss
N sanely perfect relic will be my demise
I remember when I saw all the requirements for completion I was like "nah not for me mate" but here I am with 106% completion since march 2023 and watching you complete the game made me realize how excrutiating it is and I still can not believe I managed to do it without feeling burned out.
It didn't felt that hard when I was doing it because I wanted the 106% so much. It was so much fun for me !
Well when i did the 106% it was fun I won't lie it was tough but it was hella fun but would i do again definitely no
Can’t believe you did that
Only one out of the trilogy, 4 and ctr I’m not ever completing.
I’ve been challenged by a friend to get the platinum in this game… dreading it lmao 💀
RIP. 💀
Good luck tho. 👍
😂 cheers dawg
If they were to remove the nverted they can have 2 hidden gems per stage, keeping the only unique collectable
16:48 that exactly what i thought, TfB genuinely thinks the game is too easy and perhaps they want to extend the playtime with the game so people will talk about for longer and perhaps satisfy Activision's interest. The last half of Crash 4's completion can already exceed the playtime of Crash Trilogy combined lmao
You didn't mention this, but on top of all of that completion bloats, there's the stupidly hidden boxes and gems without giving you hints, which already demoralizing enough on your first run, and you're more likely to forget that 1 specific box are when you're revisiting the level, which is really annoying and demotivated me to replay the level because 1 hidden un-hinted box. Especially when you're on a N-sanely Perfect pace
At the very least Crash 2's secrets are cryptic, but this one barely gave you hints at all without somoene else helping you.
The only thing worth completing Crash 4 is to get that Platinum Trophy on the PS4/5
Nope.
I feel so lonely for liking the Snaxx dimension underwater filter, every single Crash 4 review I come across ranks it as the worst one 🤣
Are you playing the N.Hanced version?
I don’t play on PC
