Great videos Shaun. I was at some of these games some I watched at home or in the pub. One thing is for certain the pain is no less watching the defeats than it was all those years ago, nor the euphoria for the wins. Many thanks for sharing them.
Actually Hemmings was wrong about Mal Reilly not changing a winning side in 1990. Prop Andy Platt came into the 2nd test side with very little football under his belt. That pushed Paul Dixon back to the 2nd row and Roy Powell back to the bench. Paul Laughlin also came onto the bench replacing Karl Fairbank.
And Ellery Hanley was forced to change a winning side in 1994 due to the shoulder injury suffered by 1st test Man of the Match Jonathan Davies and the suspension to halfback Shaun Edwards. Graham Steadman came in at fullback for Davies while Bobby Goulding came off the bench to play halfback. Garry Schofield missed the first test (rumored personal problems with he and Hanley cost him 1st test selection) and was on the bench for the 2nd. Alan Bateman on the bench was also dropped in favor of Paul Newlove.
I think Harrigan did a lousy job....G B was off side almost every play the ball, missed or just didnt call a lot of scrum feeds to the wrong team and could not care less about the high head hunting of most of the G B tackles.
Harrigan did a excellent job, no incessant blowing the whistle for every play the ball/scrum like that apology of French refs. In all it meant the pom forwards didn't get their little rests. The wheels soon fell off as soon as they got tired.
stevoo keeps saying get into their face . in other words biff,, thats the main problem with brit league , they work on the biff and fall behind on fitness and skill. it is always the case, we turn them over in the last quarter nearly every game .
You can't expect a team that has been playing for 20 years to beat a team that's played for 100. We play league at every level, all the men in my family played league from kids up. AUSTRALIAN men are just harder than English men ..it's a fact. Hahaha
Playing for only 20 years? WTF? It woz the Poms wot invented RL. But hardly anyone plays it there outside Yorkshire and Lancashire. No one in France, hardly anyone in NZ. Saying we’re world’s best in this sport is a laugh.

Great to watch replays of old test matches. Hasnt the game changed over the years.😊
How was Sculthorpes try a great build up for G B? it was a great build up for Britain by Harrigan.

Harrigan was best on ground for GB! Absolute shocker!
Harrigan actually gave the British more dubious rulings than he did the Aus tralians.
Fielden "looking" at the ball? The runners were ALSO offside by miles.
You beauty 🏉
I would NOT call the first test a STUNNING victory for the British, 20 to 12...a win but not a stunning win.
harrigan was trying to give gb a bit of a break , a complete rout dosnt profit anyone.

@@grahamlowe7388 IM just copying you with ONE difference, you were on the side of the losers
@@noelbaker4689 The score was 40 NIL BEFORE they got tired...unless they got tired after the first five minutes?
Harrigan WAS NOT fair and even handed....heck any one wud think G B was paying him
he was a joke
