    Great video as always and Indeed, RegioJet does provide excellent catering service, but I think they should also provide LCD screens on first-class too. And I really like how European countries are interlinked with each other through trains and it certainly, makes travelling easy.

      Thanks Rahill! I expect it would be quite costly to retrofit screens which is why they offer the content through an online portal instead. Yeah moving around Europe by train is super easy 😊🙏🏻

    In July 2019 i travelled by Regiojet from Bratislavia to Prague. The "only" availible ticket was i 1:st class "Business" - Yes , a 4 seat compartment - but it was well worth the money going through the pastoral land of Moravia (Mähren)

      its our Czech gold!!!
      Its an eaysy business model - best services on the market for a cheap price - that means its (before Covid) sold out in peaks and very full in non-peak times and days - and not to let the engines to chill out...
      - free newspapers and magazines
      - free hot drinks in non limited measures
      - stward(ess) on board for every wagon in train or for every coach with dekivery to your seat (no low-cost class in trains)
      - free wifi anywhere
      - free online enteratiment - movie, music, games..
      - power sockets in trains and busses - as a 1st one in Europe!!!!
      - very friemdly and very helpfull staff!!!
      ...... and it works!

    • @johnnygomez7063
      @johnnygomez7063 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The model also reflects the demand - if it is sold out befofore departue - they opperativelly add another wagon(s) to satisfy the demand . so you alwas get a seat - all you need to do is keep on checking the web page to get your online ticket
      If their bus is sold out more hours before departure - they add one more bus for the exact same departure time.

    • @afcgeo882

      The service is heavily subsidized by Czech Republic because they offer student and other groups, discounted rates. In fact, this is why their technically First Class is named “Relax” as First wouldn’t qualify for subsidies.

    • @johnnygomez7063
      @johnnygomez7063 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@afcgeo882 YOU ARE WRONG ! This is an open acces operator that makes the rail business on its own risk - doest NOT get any subsidies from goverment like any other including the national one! Its according the EU rulles! Trains in the Czech republic have been havily used because of tradition and because of the biggest track network density per 100 sq miles in the whole EU. Regiojet bussiness model is very easy - they offer the best european train on board services for the cheapest possible price - and it really works!!! Thats why this company has been so succcesfull and has been expanding all over Central Europe - it has 4 travel classes - thats the reason why can offer for example connection between Vienna, Austria and Budapest, Hungary since 9 EURO ONLY without any promotion - (in Low Cost class) (Low Cost = no food and drink delivery to the seat, no (welcome) drink included in the fare = NO bottle of water/Standart/, juice or spakling wine/Relax, First/)
      And regarding student and eldry discounts - its given by law and every carrier MUST provide this discounts to this "social groups" = students and eldery - and also by the law every carrier must be compensated from the sate budget to fullfill 100% of the ticket price. In general it has less than low influence on the demand - its just "politikum" - and evry country in the region has any kind of discounts like this...
      Regarding the fares in CZ - they are lower because the population income is lower.
      I use regioJet trains very often - they are simply amazing - I like the second lowest class Standart that divides into 2 options:
      - Standart 6seat compartments and
      - Standart Astra - these brand new open seat Astra coaches have very comfy leather seats and each seat has its own screen for watching movies, music, games, ordering drink and snacks with seat delivery etc.

    To me the RegioJet cars are pimped up cars from former express trains (called D-Zug with 6 seats compartments) to which ÖBB intruduced first saloon cars in its international relations (Vienna to Amsterdam/Oostemde). Even the 4 seats compartments remember me to old D-Zug of former Deutsche Bundesbahn. The compartments cars were interational standard in East and West.
    - Cheers, Heinz

    • @pega17pl
      @pega17pl 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Notabene: Before the fall of the Berlin Wall, the railway wagons smelled differently from East and West, e.g. the trains of the DR (GDR) or the CSD (CSSR), which were also used on West German territory. The reason for the strange smell are plasticizers in the plastic. To cover this up, you have to add small amounts of vanillin. Vanillin has the property of covering up other smells below its perception limit, means you don't smell Vanillin but your nose is blocked to other smells. Vannilin is produced synthetically. (More than 99% of production is used to mask the smell of plasticizers.) No vanilin was used or produced for these purposes in the Eastern Bloc regions. So formerly the railroad cars smelled different.

If you have in Low class this pink seats (old Frist class under Deutsche Bundesbahn), take them, much more space for you then in Standard class, you can survive without bottle of water, coffee and newspapers (CZ only), infotainment is not something what do you need today with mobile tariffs (plus you have Wi-Fi on board anyway), 10 years ago, for sure this was a plus, but today...

    Hey Max 👍🏻. So, as an American, not sure what “open access is”. The explanation given … “rail transport in Europe, an open-access operator is a train operating company that takes full commercial risk, running on infrastructure owned by a third party and buying paths on a chosen route and in countries where rail services run under franchises are not subject to franchising.” In simple terms does this boil down to train operators freely competing against each other for passengers/market share? Also, would love to see an ICE-T review 👍🏻

    • @NonstopEurotrip
      @NonstopEurotrip  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Exactly that Rob! Private companies which compete under EU competition rules with (usually) the state run operator. Like with Ouigo España. You tend to find their service and prices are always great; LeoExpress, Italo and ofc Regiojet too. 🙏🏻 I hope to film ICE T later this year 👍🏻

    • @janpf0624
      @janpf0624 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If I can add my opinion.
      These open-access operators also help improve the transport system forcing the state owned operators to buy new vehicles, rebuilding older ones according to nowaday standarts, and maybe make a schedule a little bit better and faster.
      In my case,
      the RegioJet trains attracted some passengers on Budapest - Prague route into their trains, from the then overcrowded EuroCity state operated trains via Bratislava...
      So, win-win to me.
