I was always considering one of these Chinese snow blowers with the LCT on it just worried about parts and availability. But every new MTD is practically the same. It’s either one of these with a LCT, Snapper 1024 (which is same as Briggs 1024 which is also pure China) or a older more powerful MTD with a 8 or 10 horse Tecumseh or a 824 or 1024 Ariens to replace my clapped out worn out 5hp MTD that bogs over light snow even with it revving to the moon with the govoner by passed.
unfair, honda, looked like a 29 inch cut where the yardmaster was only 24 inch so of corse it will out preform the yardmaster.I have a 24 inch wide clear path troy bilt, its a complete beast! that one will preform at your honda level for sure. Im not convinced the yardmaster is that good, it looked like you had to push and lean inrto in as you were going. If just the tires were the issue, would it preform better with chains on the tires or another form of traction assistance? I mean is that the only issue,? My troy bilt just died and i was looking at a yardmaster myself.Your video helped, but i would like to know how it would run with traction assistance being used. Please, tell me what you think.
Tire chains would certainly help. It mostly struggled with the snow by the road, where the plow comes along and mixes it with salt. Where most blowers will struggle. The Yardmax will handle what you throw at it, within it's limits. A huge snow and it just doesn't have the height in the auger area to handle a lot. It really depends on your location and what you typically experience for snowfalls.
The Honda snowblower is a much better product. However its widely known the Hss928 is Underpowered for what the machine is. Skip it and go for the 1332 instead

Personally I’d go with Honda or Ariens, but you can get parts for the China ones
