Hey guys!..found this channel when i got re-interested in detecting. Been binge watching. Seems like you have a blast! Wish i was closer. Im in WNY. I still have my DFX with several coils i bought in 06...and havent been out since 16 ...i used to go with my nephew after i bought him a detector. But he found girls! My Manticore just showed up yesterday...now to shed winter!
I wore a hole in the end of my pin pointer. I didn't realize it and I kept cramming dirt up the end until it shoved the sensor about 2" up. I couldn't figure out why it had such low sensitivity. Finally got home and cleaned all the mud out and got it working again.

1916 was my Dads Birth Year when I was a teenager mid 1970's I was into coin collecting and gave my dad 1 cent thru .50 cent 1916 U.S coins for his Birthday. That 1916 merc brought back some great memories. Thanks and happy belated Birthday Doug.

Great video and fun hunt, guys! Plus, you inspired me to do some sleuthing on an old mystery I've been trying to figure out for myself for years! Rich's Barber dime (at 22:30) with the circular indent in the obverse center... now what caused that indent?? I've dug two old dimes with that same indent and have seen numerous of them dug on other channels over the years. I've asked on every channel I've seen them on and have searched for the answer myself. Everyone seems ro think it's a bank coin counting machine of some sort. Well, I must have searched the right keywords tonight... because I found the answer! It's a little tube that can hold 50 dimes... a coin bank or dispenser of some sort, with a thumb-screw at the top to tighten the dimes down and keep them from rattling. That thumb-screw apparently really does a number on the top-most dime, digging into it and leaving an indent. If interested, Google B&R coin dispenser, and you can see what I am talking about. Anyway, mystery solved!! Thanks for reminding me of that, Rich. Again, awesome hunt... and good luck in the future.
The token looks like it has horseshoe, wishbone, rabbit foot, and clover.
I found a local bank token with the symbol on it that refers it as "the lucky emblem.
Has bow and arrows in a quiver and a peace pipe under the symbol

The 3pence coin had a 3 headed Thrift plant design.
