Xlnt Video and what a character you are. I just got a 2010 Subaru Forester as a gift for helping this thankful woman who was upgrading to a Mini Cooper Countryman. She had the HeadGasket/Timing Belt replaced at 133,000 (good for another hundred thousand). Now it's my featured car along with my 1996 Toyota Camry - I'm set for life. Save the Turtles.

Easy upgrades are the auto dimming mirror, tweeters (simple and huge difference), and fog lights. Easy maintenance that nobody ever does is clean the MAF and throttle body. I also replaced EGR and PCV. Super easy and important.

Thank you for this video! I just got myself a 2024 Forester (I'm in love) but my first subie was a 2009 silver Forester that I purchased right before my son was born and had about 7 years. Looking at the exterior and interior has brought some really nice memories back.

Was parked at a lot some time ago, and a lady asked me about my 09 Forester, and how I felt about it as she was thinking about getting one. Told her that it's been my favourite daily driver and has been extremely reliable with good cargo/passenger room. She looked convinced!

Gen 3 Foresters are everywhere where I live. I drive a silver 2009, and pretty much any parking lot I park in has another silver one in it somewhere!

I have 2 foresters, a 09 Limited and a 10 , I guess it’s more along the lines as a base model..has no sunroof or leather or fog lights .. I like them.. super fun in the snow.. we get snow by the foot over night.. sometimes 4-5 ft in less than 24 hrs.. so Subaru’s are my go to for the winter months.

Yes! Resale holds quite nicely on them.

We just bought one the other day. It's the 2009 Subaru Forester (NatL) and had 165,000 miles on it. For right now it just needs front brakes and rotors, headlight bubls and transmission fuild changed. It's going to be my daughter first car once she gets her permit later this month. It's a really nice vechile and runs smooth. It just needs tone up.

Nice!! Just keep oil in it!! It will live a long time.

Hi , really enjoyed the video of your car. I have a2013 Forester with a stick shift. And like you said fun and easy to work on. Parts seem to be reasonable. I just love the car and you will be blown away this winter when you see how good it handles the snow. Just like yours it a plain jane , very practical ab basic. The longer I have mine the better I like it.

They say the more miles a Subaru has in Australia, it’s holds value. Might of been taking care of!!!

The pouch doesn't exist on the driver side because these cars are intended for interchangeable left and right hand drive depending on the country. The seats I suspect are initially placed in the spot for right hand drive in Japan, UK, etc.

@@FixingWithPassion it's only a guess. I have never owned an American car (even though I myself am an American), I assume the pouch is behind the driver seat OR there are pouches on both sides nowadays?

If you're willing to overlook Subaru's flaky engine and short lived suspension parts it's a very nice car. I miss driving one but, ... sticking with Toyota.
