      @@sailingindependence9927 dude even if it was fake there’d be better ways than using CGI. Antarctica isn’t the only place that has water covered in ice, and Lake Huron has some really similar looking bacterial mats down in its sinkholes.
      but anyways that’s all irrelevant because you’re a dingus and you should shush. If you doubt Antarctica has life like this so much, then how bout you go on an expedition there. And don’t give me that “thEy wON’t leT mE inTO anTArcTIcA bcUz tReATy” because there’s no such rule. Hell, you’ve almost certainly never read the Antarctic treaty.

    • @sailingindependence9927
      @sailingindependence9927 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Oberon all you dummies sound just alike, lol. You are the one that seems to have reading comprehension issues. If you had read my earlier comments you'd understand that I'm not saying these things don't exist, I'm saying they faked this particular footage, probably because the pussy videographer they sent in to do it freaked out again, like he did in his first dive and after having spent all the money to get that far, they decided to finish it with CGI - which it OBVIOUSLY IS TO ANYONE WITH TWO EYES AND A BRAIN.

    • @oberonpanopticon
      @oberonpanopticon ปีที่แล้ว

      lmao what
      do you even know what CGI looks like buddy? what about this looks fake to you?
      also, *why* would they fake it. what’s their motive to?
      also also, that looks like other bacterial mats I’ve seen. I actually grew my own in an anaerobic environment once, and it looked somewhat like a mini-version of this before I accidentally killed it. In another comment thread you argued with a diver who had gone diving near a similar stromatolite colony. so tbf I don’t think there’s any hope for you. but remember, just because you struggle to understand it doesn’t mean it isn’t real. When 99% of people are telling you you’re wrong, you might have to stop being stubborn and accept it. When people start assuming you’re a flat earther because of how insane you sound, you may want to reconsider your life choices.
      The cherry on top is that even if the BBC had a reason to fake this, there’s another dive to a very similar Antarctic lake from 10 years ago. You can find the video on a channel called natural history museum. Along with that there’s likely numerous scientific studies on lakes like these, possibly even about ones that haven’t been documented in video.

      @@jessepaynter3752 Aside from what the video said, the exciting part is how unique it appears. For example, consider nudibranchs. They look like aliens, so people are interested for that reason alone.

      @@jacobshirley3457 well as cool as the Ice water boogers are its about as interesting as paint drying. And let's imagine they find life on another planet, if this is the only thing that lives on that planet it is still boring as hell.

      Im not trying to sound crazy but we know what CGI looks like... its kind of more crazy to act like this isnt CGI until we can prove indisputably that it isnt because ALL of this footage looked exactly like early stage CGI or blender shit. idk i dont want to say its all fake but it looks exactly like bad CGI until they directly explain why that is and show way more footage/pictures its going to be a possibility in peoples minds. Ive never seen such CGI looking footage on planet earth EVER even the footage from mars and other planets/moons looks more real than this.

    I’m glad I live within visiting distance Lake Huron, because there’s very similar looking bacterial mats in some sinkholes. You can find footage of exploratory dives on TH-cam, it looks a lot like this except less icy!
    although, I could be more glad if it wasn’t for the fact that whenever I’m swimming I remember I’m in the same lake as them.

    More seriously; mad props to the diver(s).
    Also: for some reason I keep needing reminders that Antarctica has mountains; it's so easy to think of it as a flat white wasteland when it's a weeee bit more interesting than that.

    I didn't read the description first, and it took me until the very end to understand "Untersee". I guess it's the same as pronouncing the wonderful Valencian dish as "pie - ella"... Calling it Lake Untersee is also like referring to the big Rio Grande River. Sigh. As always, a wonderful video.
