What Kavin called Kanning is not excatly means "chipmunk". The meaning is a mixture of "baby girl" "cutey" "pretty" it's almost like a pick up line kind of nickname. But I think there is no exact translation to english so they went with the chipmunk
i think the director doesn't intends to make Ren & Gorya's relationship to do misleading things.
because it seemed to be like only Gorya has a crush on Ren.
and Ren seemed to be almost head over heels to Mira.
this is a pretty interesting perspective for us since we can't have this thoughts from previous versions of F4 because Mira almost(?) doesn't show up in early EPs there.
Mira in kor show up in ep 3, ep 2 in japanese ver, forgot in china but since they have like....40+ep its still considered early for her appearance. In fact, she always appear early because the later half of the story is more about ML and FL

I think when ren said “I almost late….” It refers to he is almost late to pick up Mira at the airport because Gorya miscalculated the time difference
I love how relatable you guys are because that's the same thought process my cousin and I had. my cousin didn't wanna go down rengorya route because of the heartbreak and I was already in it. I think we all would've been better off if ren didn't fall in love with gorya in the first place or he ended up with mira but none of those are endgames so we're gonna have to see our boy go through TWO heartbreaks which is, insane. imo. TEAM REN THOUGH. ALL THE WAY.
I hate how TIME does rengorya so dirty like they both like eachother at some point but never at the same time.
Btw Kavin calling her Chipmunk is subtitle but he rlly said Smallie which is leads like Baby girl in Thai.
I know a lot of people think ren is sweet and kind but I feel like he’s bad just like the other 3 because a real good person wouldn’t allow his friends to do the messed up things that they do all the time and just stir back and be quiet. Letting it happen in front of you and not saying anything is just as bad as doing the bad thing. He’s just probably the nicest one out of them and then think about it if he really was all different from the three and was a good person he wouldn’t get along or be able to hang out with them for all these years of there friendship I wouldn’t have sat right with him
What I'm loving about this Thai version is that it's heavily inspired on the Japanese one but it also clearly borrowed some aspects from the taiwanese/Chinese one - like the secondary couple being more heavily featured (and Win's looks are EXACTLY like Meteor Garden Ximen's, which I love)
Personally I honestly get (and love) that in every version she ends up with Thyme, because the way I see it a story is made so we can see characters develop, change, learn. That's what happens with Thyme and Gorya while her love story with Ren was just "ready" there was nothing to learn or develop there.
I have tried so many times to watch boys over flower and I wasn't able to( don't know why ) OR may because I already know the story. But F4 is awesome. 💜💜💜

I wish the Japanese drama had been easier for fans to obtain! The pacing is similar and some of the scenes are callbacks to that version. If there are 16 episodes they are going to have to press on to follow the entire main story. Enjoyed your reaction, I look forward to the rest 🙂

Fun fact:
When the first drama adaption came out (Taiwanese 2001), the second lead and the female lead dated in real life (I think it was after it aired).
Don’t know about Win’s love interest aka Gorya’s BFF she’s born in 2004 and I feel they casted a super young person to go with win I feel weird about their pairing as Win is 6 years older. Even if the actress actually has the age she portrays in the series I feel we can visually see the age gap.
Though as y’all said I think this Is also my favorite version, I like how they developed all the characters, the pace, the social media involvement of the story, the relationship and interactions among the characters. I really can’t wait to see what’s gonna happen next. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s episode !

Domyouji in HYD has anger management issue and he always ready to fight. In this version Thyme looks a little bit more normal.

There is just one scene I liked better in the korean version than the thai one. It's that ; when that three stupid asses attacked JanDi in the bathroom and JiHoo (2nd lead) found her, he asked what they were doing here but those guys were too stunned to speak because they were panicking about JiHoo (and JunPyo) finding out what they're doing. But JiHoo didn't even looked at them after the question and started to talk to JanDi, then he looked up and said them "Are you still here?" And those aholes ran away.
I think that moment was a good display to show how students see JiHoo as a part of F4. He's the misterious character in the group, he doesn't talk or interact with other people as much as the others do, but he IS a part of F4, the four people that everyone is jelous AND afraid of, so the other students avoid getting his bad side as much as possible because they don't know what his reaction will be.
I don't like that scene bcoz Jun Pyo order them to harass Jan Di unlike in this thai version Thyme got mad and drowned the guy who harass Gorya and he said he never order them to do stupid thing (same with Japanese version)
Thais watch this series on a pretty large number too ngl but gmmtv is not a big channel in Thailand that's why the only Thai viewers are only of the latter generation who keep up with the gmmtv contents.
Ok I’ve never seen any adaptation of this but if Gorya somehow ends up with main douchebag guy instead of Ren I’m gonna lose faith in everything lol

Not everyone can be Gorya, there some people that can't stand up for themselves like she does. I really understand Hana, also it's terrible & sad to be bully but even more terrible if it come from your own family. If people will understand that bullying have cause death maybe they will stop but some people don't care.

It shows the life of a korean family (a biiiig korean family) in Jeju Island where the eldest son of the family is a closeted gay man who is dating an out gay man who is divorced (was married to a woman and has a daughter).
Sure, it has straight couples in it but it's a damn rollercoaster!
You laugh, you cry, get angry, stressed, you care about every single character (even the annoying young uncle who redeems himself near the end of the series).
The series shows us how gay men in a conservative society navigated their lives, them being accepted by their family member, encountering homophobia. How them coming out can effect their families (girl.. if your boyfriend dumped you because your brother is gay then that ain't true love and you should thank God that you got rid of such homophobic piece of sh!t).
I'm telling you, it's worth your time, this series got vanished and is barely known. The reason??? I don't know! It was such a hit in its time and also controversial (because depicting gay men on national tv????? You are asking for controversy :)) ).
The writer is famous for creating several successful tv series (even if she wasn't famous, she's still our saviour, our lord and Jesus for depicting a healthy gay couple who *communicate!!!*).
Just please give it a chance and if you want to know more about the tv series and what went behind the scenes (because of the controversies and what was Korean society back then), you can check out this link BUT BE AWARE!!!

24:06 It's not fair to call her a bitch, I mean she didn't stant up to Gorya bc that would change nothing and them the 2 of them would get bullied so she is obviously scared. Gorya choose to defend this girl herself, she made the decision that girl didn't force her and in an ideal world the other girl would stand for Gorya too, but you could say the same about Gorya too because she saw many times how others got bullied but did nothing, why? because she has no power to fight against the bullies and just would get herself into trouble (you could argue that its ok because Gorya didn't interact with the other people who got bullied but this girl was her friend, but in both cases it would be wrong to just watch how people are being bullied, you become part of the system, even if is to protect yourself) what would be truly problematic is if someone has the power to stand up against bullies but still does nothing 💀 like all F4 does, they are the cause of all this, they are the bullies EVEN REN beause they just watch how Thyme bullies people and do nothing about it, they just start to get worried when Gorya shows up BECAUSE SHE IS THE FEMALE LEAD. So I don't like how people try to justify Thyme's and the other F4 guys with the "he does it because of his mom poor him" or the "they just give orders the rest of the school are the ones who are bullies" (like come on, they are the master minds) but when is about Gorya's classmate the judge her right away like she is a "bitch" and have no empathy when literaly she is a victim too and ALL F4 are the victimizers🚩🚩
I had to talk a lot because this reminds me when I got bullied at school (even tho it was far better than the bullying in this show) so it made me want to vent
If you watched any other version of F4 drama, you will know why many people hate Hana character🙂
