    Thank you! This is the only herringbone tutorial using half tilas that I've been able to understand. I've watched it numerous times though when starting a new bracelet, because you're right the beginning of the bracelet is the hardest part. I just love the way the half tilas look in the herringbone stitch.

    Gina, thank you so much for doing the half tila herringbone tutorial. I just made my first narrow bracelet with horizontal stripes and it turned out beautifully. I love the slinky feel of the bracelet. These are very addictive and I will definitely make more of them.

    Thank you very much! I'm trying Tila Beads for my first time and this seems like a challenging pattern to begin with but you've given very good instructions! I might be able to pull it off! I've been beadweaving and creating on the loom, stringing, making clay floral beads for about forty years, I know enough to come back and read or pull out a book should I need to. You gave me confidence. They've been calling my name for the whole month I've been building up stock! Whoopee! Beading is so much fun! Wish everybody had as much fun with it as I did! Such a stress relief, and very gratifying! I'm subbing!

    Gina, thanks for the great instructions! I love the rhythm of this stitch. QUESTION: Could you make this in full-size Tila beads? If so, what changes are needed? And if you wanted to go smaller with quarter Tilas, how would you change the pattern?

    • @ORCHIDandOPAL
      @ORCHIDandOPAL  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can definitely use the quarter tilas, and keep in mind you can also double them up to come out to be about the same size as the half tiles. I wouldn't recommend the regular tilas since this design works best with the two-hole rectangular-shaped beads, rather than square shaped. Thanks for asking!

    Hi there. I absolutely loved this pattern. I've come to the ends and I was wondering if there is any other way of ending it to eventually connect a clasp. I don't quite want to use a wire guard. Thank you in advance.

      @ORCHIDandOPAL  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Karen! You can simply create loops of seed beads at the end and connect to a tube bar clasp, or make single loops of seed beads on either end and attach jump rings/clasp to them that way. Thanks for watching!

      @@ORCHIDandOPAL thank you for taking the time to reply to me... love the idea of 3 individual loops with seed beads 🤞🏼 hopefully I can make it work. Will send you a photo if I do.

    Hi could I use a cymbal findings at the ends? if so which one would you recommend if I make the slim horizantal strips. Also could a magnetic clasp be used?

    • @ORCHIDandOPAL
      @ORCHIDandOPAL  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, T H! I'm really not sure about the cymbal findings for this since the half tilas will sit on diagonals at the end, instead of straight (which cymbal makes clasps for), but if anyone else has tried any of their findings that work in this capacity, please let us know. :) You can definitely use magnetic clasps, and attach as you would a toggle or lobster, etc. Thanks for watching!

      I think if you have seed bead Cymbal findings and used bigger seed beads on the ends. I’ve been thinking of doing something similar with the slide beads findings. I do have some Cymbal findings in my stash and might try it😊

    I had a problem with gaping on the first row. What I did to correct this was instead of going through all 3 15/0's I only went through the first one and then into the tila bead, except on the last one, that I still went through all 3.

    How do I make this bracelet wider by one or two tiles? Thank you Linda

      Hi Linda! In the first step, where you begin stringing on beads, add the additional one or two beads there, then proceed with the steps. Hope that helps! 💜💜💜

    I have a question, can this be done using size 11/0 Delicas? Does that change anything other than the number of seed beads picked up?

    • @ORCHIDandOPAL
      @ORCHIDandOPAL  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ashley! You could probably use them, the design will just appear a little "looser" since those are slightly larger. Thanks for watching! 💜

    Do you have to use a 15/0 or would a 12/0 ot 11/0 work for all of these?

    • @ORCHIDandOPAL
      @ORCHIDandOPAL  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven’t tried it, to be honest. You could always experiment and see what happens. That’s what I love about beads - if something doesn’t work, you can just start over ☺️💜

    How do you do this with mix of whole tilas and quarter tilas put together as half tilas?

    • @ORCHIDandOPAL
      @ORCHIDandOPAL  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sue! Instead of using the whole tilas, I would use the quarter tilas that you have in this project. Just use two quarter tilas in place of one half tila. I hope this helps! :)

    Could this be made into a necklace? I have made two bracelets. I'm still trying to figure out how to take a picture of the bracelets and post them on FB. I'm very technically challenged so I'm having a hard time figuring that out. I recently bought a new camera so I'm hoping that works out for taking the pictures to post!

    ✿ NEW: Half Tila Herringbone Necklace Tutorial Video: th-cam.com/video/7jrhgOc4KEI/w-d-xo.html
    Hey all! I hope you're staying safe and well. For the slimmer bracelet variety shown, you will need approx. 5-6ft of thread and approx. 5g of Half-Tilas total (more for wider varieties). That should be enough for a 7-8" bracelet. The herringbone beading stitch is a great way to use many different types of two-hole beads, including the Miyuki Half-Tila variety (as shown). Please enjoy checking out some different variations on the same stitch, and let your imagination run wild! Tip: I have set up "chapters" in the video description section, below the video, so you can navigate to the sections of the tutorial you're interested in trying. Happy beading!! 💜
