Its just my husband and I. We have about 2 years of food and supplies. We didn't have to worry about the shortage the pandemic caused. We are also debt free. Gives a new meaning to peace of mind.

In 2001 we had someone do an audio interview with my mom before she died (within 6 months). Asked her so many questions about her childhood, school, being a nurse, marriage, and her 6 children. It’s one of my most cherished things I have. I only wished we had this done with my dad. He passed away a few years before my mom.

I recommend looking into the gamma lids for your storage buckets, they make it way easier to open and seal the lid for the buckets in use compared to the lids that have to be hammered on.

I didn't go anywhere but to the doctors and to see my kids once or twice for a whole year. I went out today to Walmart to get one item and right back out. The pandemic should be a wakeup call to all, I also keep a small supply of food, tissue, toilet paper, and other household items stocked in case of an emergency but because I had always kept and bought certain items before the pandemic, like toilet paper, I didn't run out of anything, I had cases and cases of water enough to give my son a few when he ran out, America, be smart.
Sam's won't let me order toilet paper for pick up in the Chicago area. I found about 3 months ago that they will gladly ship it tho. Just thought I'd share.

Advice.... Get the BERKEY water purification system! We have had for years and I would never want to be without. Also, consider getting Gamma lids for your food buckets. You will find it 100 times easier to get lids off and on. I get from Amazon.

Glad to see your pantry growing! I remember vividly last year we ate out of the pantry same as you right before the lockdowns. There was a brief time of concern there wondering if stores would close and you guys were traveling back from Florida! Prayers always. 🙏🏼💕🙏🏼💕
If you don't already ,you need to get a generator so that all your freezer meat isn't lost if something happens. May be more canned meats/ protein as well as dried milk / buttermilk
That grey celtic sea salt has the best flavor EVER. When I season food with it I can always tell the difference* And your pantry is so well thought out, I love it.
If I had a large family like yourselves I would definitely do all this emergency storage of things too. We are a family of 3 at home and I still do like to keep extra of certain non perishable things in case ( & loo rolls!) I have a real fear of not having enough loo roll! 😂
I started making my own peanut butter. Its really easy to make. But I also can my own fruits and jams. Both can easily be water bath canned and so much healthier then buyung stuff. I either grow my own fruits get from a local farmer or the few things like oranges I buy when i can get a great deal on organic ones!
LOVE my Berkey water filter. Best investment but filters are pricey. Worth the removal of fluoride and you can use your pool water for survival IF needed.
I like buying the huge boxes of plastic forks and spoons. We don't always grab for them but boy was I glad to have them when we lost power for DAYSSSSS and frozen water lines. We used our plastic utensils heavily then.

You should look into buying raw honey in 40# pails from a beekeeper. We found that the quality is much better and it's cheaper per pound that way.

LOVE my Berkey water filter. Best investment but filters are pricey. Worth the removal of fluoride and you can use your pool water for survival IF needed.
I like buying the huge boxes of plastic forks and spoons. We don't always grab for them but boy was I glad to have them when we lost power for DAYSSSSS and frozen water lines. We used our plastic utensils heavily then.

Stay safe!!.........working pantries are the best!! easier to take care of too then set it and forget it and come back to a mess years later because of pests or small animals...or it's just gone bad. working pantries you can keep a better eye on things....i've been trying to get a berky for over a year now....they are still sold out...sooo hope you can find one......as for the food you don't use anymore...instead of having it sit around, you could always donate it to the food shelters.

It is always great to have a emergency storage..we have one toojust incase..you never know what will happen in the future! i had to rent out a storage unit for my family's emergency storage,i just ran out of room in my house;lol. I LOVE THAT BIRTHDAY SONG :)
