I learned about the Hilo from an engineer at Rupert Neve when I was debating the purchase of the Portico-II Channel. When I explained that I was looking for the best possible device to interface the channel to my MacPro for webcasting, this is what the Rupert Neve folks recommended. Well, since then I have purchased the Portico-II and now the Hilo is at the top of my wish list. This video was very helpful in explaining the basic hook-ups and I'm definitely looking forward to my purchase.
Excellent video! So much valuable information in less than 10 minutes! I was seriously thinking on purchasing one, and I already have a TC 96k. All I have to do is add the Manley C/L. The diagram was so helpful and the pace was perfect. Please continue to post more videos, as I am sure they would be very educational and professional! Thank You!!!!
We love our HILO... Since Firmware version 7, the RTA is a very nice addition - thank-you... The scenes, the routing and now the RTA are what makes the Hilo a perfect tool for us... Look forward to seeing even more great new features added! MID SIDE monitoring - a MONO button... LEVEL MATCHING (capture and and match) - Hint hint :)
Love my hilo, but can't seem to get it to work on my mastering chain with vst systemlink! Is it compatible? Any suggestions, routing, tips would be highly appreciated.
I'm buying one really soon, I'll be doing a video on unboxing it, installing and setting it up. May also demo it too. I know it's in need of some videos. Also got a video on the Lynx AES16e card coming soon too.
@@rigovargas17 No problem, there wasn't really any in-depth videos on the Hilo. It has a lot of features, including being a digital medium converter, which I didn't discuss in the video but might in another video. Any questions or requests please leave a comment on the video.
Could you please tell me - is it possible when I connect to usb, to send track from computer to analog outs and record from analog inputs AT THE SAME TIME? I need this for re-amping.
Hi there. I have no way to test out your product in Calgary.... how does the quality of the headphone amp compare to SPL Xe ( or SE)? How about the DAC? How about agains SPL Mercury? I’m 100% ITB with no external hardware using exclusively headphones. My headphones are Audeze LCDX and Focal Clear Pro MG. This is an one time investment I have been saving for for more than 5 years... Thank you
Hey Paul, "spiddif", really? It's generally pronounced "As Pee Dif", it is also officially written S/PDIF. This is because the S and P stand for Sony/Philips coop. And DIF stands for Digital Interface Format

We need an updated video on the hilo! We need to hear it in action like many other converter companies are doing.

Hi, does the analogue volume control affect the volume of both the Line Out and the Monitor Out? Thanks.
If you wanted to use it in a mix environment with a patch bay how would you connect it?? I know hardwiring is cool but it ties my hands.

I need this for re-amping.
Yes, that is the default.
@@LynxStudioTech ok, thank you, I did not understand this from manual.
The frequency response really disappoints me. But seems to be a good unit
