I don’t have PCOS, but I do have Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis and hypothyroidism, and I also think I’m in perimenopause. I think a huge reason why doctors don’t know a lot about these and why they’re not super helpful is because they (largely) affect women. I’ve had to do so much research on my own and really advocate for myself because I feel like I’m constantly begging my doctors to give me any kind of meaningful help. I love learning about PCOS through your journey! I hope you figure out what works well for you!

Chandler!! Thank you so so much for all the PCOS info... you're so right about drs, the first thing they threw at me was birth control even though I've had bad side effects in the past. The new diagnoses is hard I'm not going to lie, it feels like my body hates me sometimes, though I know that's not true. Your progress is definitely a bright spot of hope.

I recently saw a great new video, which will become a series from Syd bookworm. She picks one book herself, one book picked by subscribers, one by patreons. And creates brackets out of winners, so in the end she will have one winner. Each 3 books have a separate vlog. I just thought that i would love to see such vlogs from you. Love your opinions and comparisons. Loved the trope comparison series.

I agree with the floor sample choice - I think the other one will look a bit too light, especially with how your paint/decor/furniture etc. tends to lean very light I would feel like the floor would just blend right into everything and not provide much contrast.

I love this video and the way you openly talk about the things you're trying for PCOS.
As someone with PCOS and blood pressure issues (due to a kidney disorder), I do want to add that people should definitely consult with their doctors and do their research. If you want to try low-carb diets and you're diabetic, on blood pressure medication or breastfeeding! Results can vary, and not everything might be safe to do (suddenly).

PCOS is a terrible echo chamber. Each factor makes the other worse. Metformin saved my life though! Once I started the medication is regulated my periods and I lost 25-30lbs. I think the #1 thing I can suggest for PCOS management is finding the right doctor and not giving up until you find a good endocrinologist.

I’m an oura ring (about a year and a half) and Apple Watch (something like 7 years) user (hate the subscription for oura for the record) but fortunately my job gives me a fitness reimbursement that allows me to have it partially paid for.
I also have PCOS and have found that I do enjoy the temperature tracking-my oura ring has caught when I’m getting sick before I feel sick and the temperature insights have made it much easier for me to tell when my period is coming based on the number of days my temp has been high. It also gives me insights into my cardiovascular age, which you can get through the Apple health app (ish) but it’s easier to comprehend in Oura.
That said-hate it for activity tracking. If that’s what you’re interested in, Apple Watch is way way better at tracking that info.

have you considered laminate flooring over LVP (my apologies if you did mention it and I missed it)? I've had both and I have 2 cats. I found that the LVP scratches a lot easier than laminate (my cats get the zoomies a lot), and is a lot colder, especially if you're installing it on a lower level over a concrete slab, even with underlay (less of an issue on upper levels of the home). I personally found that laminate tends to feel nicer on your feet, does not scratch as easily, and is not that much more expensive. If water/moisture and/or swelling of the laminate is a concern, of course LVP will be better, just depends on the application. just a thought! :) thanks for the long video, love these longer chatty vlogs !

i appreciate your insight! the colder thing would actually be MUCH appreciated here in texas. also the humidity is pretty high here which has us wary of alternatives. definitely something i will look more into though. i know for sure we don't want hardwood or engineered hardwood (which is what we currently have). but hadn't thought much about laminate!

At 6:29 you say that PCOS is something that doctors don't have a lot answers to, and that the root cause is unknown or not shared by all women.
    ■ The root cause of PCOS is elevated insulin
    ■ All women with PCOS have elevated insulin
    ■ This can be easily confirmed by taking either of these tests:
    - Fasting Insulin
    - ADIPO-IR
A fasting insulin of over 5 uIU/mL indicates elevated insulin.
Fasting insulin tells you your baseline insulin levels when food isn't adjusting it (hence the "fasting" term).
The ADIPO-IR test is actually a calculation of insulin resistance at your fat cells (adipose tissue).
The ADIPO-IR test can detect the earliest signs of insulin resistance (because fat cells are the first cells to become insulin resistant), and is a better test for insulin resistance than HOMA-IR (although HOMA-IR is a more common test).
If you fix your insulin problems, you fix all of your PCOS problems.
In other words, once you get your insulin levels under control, your body will automatically start reversing the PCOS symptoms over time.
If you are diligent to closely manage your insulin levels, you can see most if not all of your PCOS symptoms reversed in about one year.
If you add in exercise and other insulin-managing lifestyle changes, you can get even faster results, but it is not required.
There are many ways to manage insulin levels, but, if you only have the time and energy to do one thing, the most beneficial thing to do is to keep your total carbohydrate intake below 20g/day.
If you keep your total carbohydrate intake below 20g/day, your insulin levels will be fixed in two or three months (unless your are on hormone altering drugs).
Controlling carbohydrate intake controls insulin because eating carbs spikes your blood sugar which then spikes your insulin.
If you are controlling carbs, you are controlling blood sugar spikes which controls insulin spikes.
    It's really that simple.
I am happy to explain more, answer questions, or address concerns.
I'm not sure why so few doctors are aware of how simple PCOS is to reverse.
For whatever reason, most docs want to get women on birth control which will make it almost
impossible to permanently balance your hormones.
Anyway, y'all can be PCOS free in about a year.
    Peace and love.

    • @chandlerainsleyvlogs
      @chandlerainsleyvlogs  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @Hertz2laugh 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@chandlerainsleyvlogs Who said you ”have to" restrict carbs to fix insulin resistance?
