Thank you for the lekker comment! I started this channel just for personal storage for videos of my fishing, as it's always nice to look back and reminisce. There's the added benefit of encouraging people to release their fish, which is what i hope for. Love South Africa, love the people and the beautiful rivers and scenery. We need to look after what we have.
@FishingEasternCapeSA forsure my bru.. i grew up in the Garden Route fishing here from the age of 5 and hitting 40 now... just never gets old hooking a sizer.. but ja they getting fewer and farther between, lots of oaks dont realise how crusial it is to release breeding fish. Morbit to talk about but the more one speaks out hopefully the more ppl wake up.. Diiiigggg your channel and honest videos brother!
Great catches and releases. Pity this type of content will be used by the unscrupulous to catch and bag…. TH-cam content which clearly showcases the area poses significant threats to overfishing, and further enabled by the ease of sharing on other social media platforms that broadcast the content far and wide.
I did hold on the footage for years. Go try catch a fish there now. Some of the people who live there actually killed these fish and taught there children how to kill a fish as old as they are. This happened before i released any footage. The river has opened properly long ago and all what was left is very likely long gone.
