That's what i was thinking. In air attacks cannons are useless anyway so having that extra one helps divert troops and waste the attackers' time to allow air defense to get those extra shots in.

Every super defense's a gangsta until Supercell brings out its nerf gun. Anyways, its the mines and collectors that need to be merged now. 17×9 tiles wasted for no reason. They should reduce mine and collectors to 4-5 each. While storages and army camps better remain as they are with army camp be made 3×3 instead of regular 4×4 size
I think its time for you to learn about something even more important than high dps : funeling. And sorry but not sorry, but that does really not help you with that to fuse your defenses.
This is a bad reason to not merge them because it's definitely harder to funnel out a Ricochet cannon/multi-archer tower over 2 cannons/archer towers. The merged defenses are really good against one of the most popular funnelling options in the game right now which is the siege barracks. And removing them with funnelling troops is also just much harder. A baby dragon can easily clear an archer tower but gets destroyed by a multi-archer tower

This doesn't take into account walls that can separate the 2 cannons.
Even then, it still ain’t worth it to leave them separated.
the only cons of having merged towers is prone to flame flinger. unless you placed it on the interior of your base

You can place cannons and archer tower all around your base but super upgrades will cover a specific area.
Definitely helps separate the strong from the weak! I do fear it might be necessary for TH 17 and I hope they don’t rush that addition.
They need to save space and I think this is an interesting way to do so, maybe even collectors will be merged eventually

th 99 : town halls have variants and you have town hall weapons with them having a shield in clan territory
But the merged defenses give more freeze value cuz if a freeze hits one it gives the value of 2 defenses
merged defenses are also stronger than both defeneses combined, their hp and damage is crazy

Its def better to get the cannons upgraded first as they are just better and with the giant gauntlet, you need as much ground dps as possible
