Millennials get the shaft from Boomers who think they're lazy and from an economy that is set up for them to fail no matter what they do.

One of the best jobs I've ever had was appointment setting for general contracting jobs. I would get the contractor through the door for a small job, and if they liked the job he did he get a bigger job and I'd get the commission for both, coming away with $500.00 to $700.00 paychecks every week. This was in the 90's.All went well until the owner of the company decided to bring an "expert" into the phone room to "improve things" He asked us the question about how we are getting sales and I proceeded to tell him what I was doing then he said that I gotta change my approach. "Huh??? Look if it ain't broke you don't fix it!!!" "Doesn't matter, we're going to do it my way." Needless to say that was the end of that run. Now whenever I see this short I can only think of, "Yeah but we got the freaking contract!!!".
@1:30 House number 18961 is about 5 houses south of 7 Mile Rd on a street in NW Detroit. Those were lovely brick homes built in the 1930's. Note the fancy masonry and stonework. All houses around there had that. I suspect this is near Livernois.
Ironically, after Pearl Harbor, all production of new cars stopped and factories made military vehicles instead! Maybe that's not as ironic as it is unfortunate for those car salesmen...
As crappy as this instructional video was, it made a good point. Every generation always decries the next as being lazy, yet they don't do anything to lead and always lay blame on the generation they raised.
18961 @ 1:37 That's 5 houses south of 7 Mile Rd west side of the street on the N side of Detroit probably near Livernois. That was a nice neighborhood back then. Those homes brick to the peak, and stone trim sold for about $15,000 in the 30's.

Just "shows ta go ya"...that Chevrolet was dumb, even back then. I mean...really..."DOOR TO DOOR...CAR SALESMEN???" LMAO. There was (literally) back then...someone who truly worked in HR for them and thought that was a "good idea". I LOVE IT!
The cars before the war had different pedal assignments. The brake and gas were in different places, depending on the brand you bought. It was how the ensured product loyalty.
So…..I’m driving thru Detroit and my exit is closed. Ughh, I take the other exit and I still can’t get on the freeway. So I find myself driving down East Grand Blvd and happen to look over. What did I see??? A big beautiful building with a large “Jam Handy Studios” lit up on the front. Yes, the Godfathers of informative shorts is right here in my very own city and I never knew it. Apparently the studio is still intact and popular for venues and weddings. I’m…,,.going…….to die. Young man’s fancy, the selling wizard, prom: it’s a pleasure and many more were filmed right there. Greatest day ever.

But you didn't swat at imaginary elves!
This is still the best work MST3K has done...and 14:20 is the best reaction ever!
22:15 "And never forget..." Tom Servo: I love you. XDXDXDXDXD
@1:30 House number 18961 is about 5 houses south of 7 Mile Rd on a street in NW Detroit. Those were lovely brick homes built in the 1930's. Note the fancy masonry and stonework. All houses around there had that. I suspect this is near Livernois.
It's still there?
Ironically, after Pearl Harbor, all production of new cars stopped and factories made military vehicles instead! Maybe that's not as ironic as it is unfortunate for those car salesmen...
Most of the salesmen probably went off to war anyway.
That guy in the video looks like he would have been a 4-F for sure!
Could you imagine that happening today? That's borderline communistic.
This was made in 1940. People were still poor from the late 30's recession - especially factory workers in Detroit who were laid off a lot in '39.
Love these shorts. I practically piss laughing every time I watch one.
But seriously, TEN CARS? Was there really ever a time when people bought a new car every other year?
Joel's incredulous delivery of that always kills me
Voxel Composer"And gas will always be cheap and in abundance!"
+DialectiCube I like your line of thinking and moxy :)
Voxel Composer Did I just come across a Sim City reference? Majestic.
such casual genius in this show
This ranks right up there with "Mr B Natural."
I like "Hired! The Musical."
First, hire good men...make sure they're clean.
I sold cars once. Best job in the world if you don't need a paycheck.
"AKA 'The Pantless Salesman'?!?!"
When I first heard that, I laughed so hard I didn't hear the jokes for the next minute or so.
As crappy as this instructional video was, it made a good point. Every generation always decries the next as being lazy, yet they don't do anything to lead and always lay blame on the generation they raised.
Well the first thing Harry drilled into me...
WAS HARRY!
ROFL! MST3K was wonderful with those sorts of cracks :) Sailed over the little kids' heads right to the parents :)
If my school ever does a play, imma suggest doing Hired the musical.
"Ahh, he's evil!" I laugh so hard at this every time I cry! 😂😂
work, booze, work, booze.
18961 @ 1:37 That's 5 houses south of 7 Mile Rd west side of the street on the N side of Detroit probably near Livernois. That was a nice neighborhood back then. Those homes brick to the peak, and stone trim sold for about $15,000 in the 30's.
4:42 shows how it's hard to storm out of the room when you have to stop in the corner to get your hat.
The best part is, the "that's something you didn't hear much during the Bush administration" joke still works for Dubya.
He goes door to door selling cars? "I shouldn't have wet myself on his couch!"
Aka The Pantless Salesman!!! ROFL🤣🤣🤣🤣
Aka The Piddling Peddler?!
The way Crow says “Perhaps I should not have dressed as the angel of death” fucking kills me.
"He always talks to me about my prospects."
Crow: your prostate?" 😂 Always be careful not to spit take on that line. That line always me chuckle. Its even funnier to see Joel to hold Crow down. Seems to me Trace was very proud of that line.
"The first thing that Harry drilled into me...Was Harry!" LOL
I'd forgotten how tight these shorts are. I love em.
And never forget..... I love you!
"Could you turn down the music? I can't hear a thing your saying."
Bye, folks! Stay pink, soft and oily!
"HE BOUGHT THE CAR!" Hilarious short, hilarious host segment - that musical is one of the best things they ever did.
They really did, I love to say that musical is THE best host segment in history, I wasn't into musical parodies, but this segment has me AWESTRUCK.
I didn't know door-to-door car salesman was a thing.
When I walk onto a car lot, the salesmen are coming at me with handcuffs and a cattle prod....
"He ripped you a new one every day."
"My failure looks more and more imminent" lol
"There have sign says 'We have a car'"
flying elves are back
So…..I’m driving thru Detroit and my exit is closed.
