There's something about Kit Connor's expressions that can be so endearing, particularly the way he holds his mouth sometimes (almost like a smile and a frown at the same time, but not quite a "smirk"), while simultaneously portraying another emotion (joy, sadness, fear, etc) with his eyes... It's hard to explain if you don't already see it, but it's so friggin cute ❤
Charlie is hiding his scars, his old one and possibly some new ones. Jumpers and long trousers in the height of Summer was what made me realise my daughter was self-harming. Fortunately we're all good now, but I dpam acutely aware of who's wearing inappropriate clothes.
The song at the end, when Nick was talking to his Aunt., is actually “My Vine” by Wasia Project. That’s Will Gao (Tao) and his sister’s band. Such a perfect song for that scene.
I think Isaac is speaking up more this season because he is growing up a little and possibly becoming more confident in himself and his self-worth as he discovers a new part of his identity.
Welcome Back for Heartstopper!!! We all love Joe Locke. I was so happy you mentioned you’re watching Agatha All Along too. Joe is so good. So S3 HS…I have cried so much. The emotion and depth of the story this season is just beautiful. Also you can feel a difference in the acting…all the cast are more comfortable with each other and you can feel there’s genuine connection between them not just as characters but as friends. Congratulations on your 14 yrs together! That is so lovely to hear❤
As someone who's dealt with disordered eating for most of my life, I really appreciated the way they went about the ED storyline. I was Bulimic all through highschool and beyond (I still binge sometimes, but haven't purged in years and am much better these days), and while the behavioral aspects present themselves in different ways from Anorexia, there's a lot of overlap in the toll it can take on one's mental health, as well as the concern your loved ones can have and try to express. I think they're doing it in a great way, in how it doesn't dimish the seriousness of the issue, yet also somehow portrays a sense of hope.
Thank you for sharing your story so openly with us. And we are happy to hear that you are in a good place yourself. It's such a tricky but important subject, and we agree. They're doing a good job with this particular storyline. It's a topic in our community that is not often looked at. We can't wait to see how it continues, and thank you for watching 🫶
@@therainbowreels I love this show, and find is so incredible that they can tackle such serious topics while maintaining that sense of hope. Most of the media (particularly LGBT+ media) I grew up with was so incredibly over-sexualized or just horribly tragic, and I wish I had a show like this 15-20 years ago. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy a lot of the things from back then (like Queer as Folk and some of the cheesy gay rom-coms for example), but this show has always felt like a breath of fresh air to me, and I've gotten so many of my friends and family members to watch it because of that! I generally have no problem discussing my past struggles (whether it be EDs, addiction, s*xual abuse, etc). It's difficult to talk about sometimes, but if putting myself out there like that can be a forewarning to someone that's younger than me, or help someone currently going through those things, then I think it's worth it. I still have my issues today of course, but I've at least acknowledged and begun to work through my trauma and struggles, and I'd hate for anyone else to have to go through those things if I can help in any way... If that makes sense 🤷
Oh btw - they did not add the «only if it’s not marvel» just becuase joe is in aaa - it was actually in the comics as well, charlie is canonically a marvel hater. it just happned that joe got casted in a marvel show (and he himself loves marvel).
TW: Self Harm. Remember Charlie said he self harmed in the past, last season? He’s wearing a cardigan because he’s probably self conscious about scars. They’re walking a fine line at the end of season 2 and these episodes in season 3 between showing scars, talking about cutting, injuries and scars, here. Because depicting or talking about self harm and suicide CAN increase those ideations in people vulnerable to them, yet we need comics, books and shows like Heartstopper and Solitaire that depict ultimately dealing with those mental health problems in a healthy, positive, successful way. You two may really enjoy a rewatch of season one and two to pick up on some things you’ve forgotten or missed. While Charlie’s parents are aware of bullying he went through and on the alert for problems, they aren’t really seeing him the way Tori is seeing and worrying about him in the earlier seasons. Very few reactors pick this up, but his eating disorder specifically is catchable by season 1, episode 1. A rare few also pick up on another disorder during season 2 (although it might have been planted in season 1 and I missed it too?) beyond the obvious depression/CPTSD. There is also a veeeery carefully worded scene between Tori and Charlie where he confesses to suicidal ideation to her in one line. I am very happy you talked about the acting, because the whole cast is killing it, but Joe and Kit are especially outstanding, and especially so in episode 2 here. Those two actors think episode 4 is the best in all of Heartstopper, but personally I think it’s been better, and they’ve been better, outside of episode 4. Seriously bring in a tissue box guys. Grown women and men have been crying all over TH-cam during Heartstopper season 3. It’s not a spoiler to point out why Joe and Kit promised lots of horniness and sex in the back third of Season 3 all over their promotional interviews. To give us all hope for happiness to get us through the sadness of the mental health journey (that they also pointed out) of the first two thirds.
YES! Season 3 begins. I clicked this reaction so fast and watched with anticipation as you see the boys grow into their own; also seeing Isaac and Tori getting more time to speak to their truths/anxieties is so worth it. Another great reaction from you both, but a bit of advice: Tissues boys, you're going to need lots of tissues for next couple of episodes, arguably the best written and performed episodes in a show in quite some time. Joe and Kit knock it out of the park. ❤from Canada
The scene at the end of episode 1, where Charlie asks "Why are we like this?" Nick is iconic when he says "Because you're Charlie. And you love me. And I love you." It's so lovely and cute!!
it was charlie that was sending the i love you text at the end of last season, but he ended up not sending it. so neither of them had said it to each other before this episode!
Episode 1: I know I’m late to the party, because I was having Internet trouble and trying to binge!!! It was amazing to see the squad reunite for this season!!! And I gotta say that they really nailed the “I Love You “ scene!!! Can’t wait to see your reactions to the rest of this season!!! 🥹🥰🏖️🍂🍃🦋✨⚡️🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️💖💜💙 Episode 2: This episode had its moments, especially when it tackled not just representation in the LGBTQ+ community but in eating disorders or mental illness, etc. I really love how not only did Joe and Kit give a great performance in their characters this episode, but Haley did a great job as Aunt Diane, especially when she had to give Nick advice on that love can help but it cannot cure everything. It takes more than love. I can say that I have personal experience from what Nick is dealing with. 🥺🤧💔❤️🩹
All of Nick's family (that matters) was in Marvel shows - his mother was in Secret Invasion, his boyfriend is in Agatha All Along, and his aunt was Peggy Carter (in Agent Caeter and several movies)
It's hot, Charlie is wearing a cardigan cause he don't want to show his arms, just like he don't want to take his shirt off at the beach😔🥺 (fun fact : Someone draw nick and charlie watching AAA with Nick trying to convince charlie to watch it cause the main character looks like him 😅) And the auntie is played by.... Hayley 'mcu peggy carter' Atwell 😁 "Love can't cure a mental illness" that sentence made me teary in the comics, but seeing Hayley Atwell and kit connor deliver that scene was 😭😭
25:42 charlie is a year younger than nick so he will have to take the gcac exams in the upcoming school year that we’re gonna see. him, issac and tao are in the same year/form.

4 and up is passing, 9 is the highest. Charlie, Isaac, and Tao haven't taken the tests yet as they are a year younger than everyone else.
