- The Cleveland Hungarian Scouts Folk Ensemble, celebrating their 40yjh anniversary this year, performed at the 75th anniversary celebration of the Hungarian Cultural Garden in Cleveland. The dance they performed was from the Great Hungarian Plain just west of Transylvania in Romania. It starts with a Lad's Dance and is followed by a slow and fast Czardas. www.clevelandpe...

These kinds of dances and culture is what ruined polish culture! Magyars foisted their cultural dances , clothes, and instruments on us as west Slavs as well as the Austrians and Germans. Russia and Bulgaria hold the true Slavic culture within language, dances, clothes, old Church Slavonic, religion, etc. The list goes on, Poland sold themselves to the western devil! They thought that westernization was Modernization and it disgusts me!! Send the Tubas, trumpets, clarinets, bass, back to the Germanic hell in which they came from robbing Slavs their true heritage! Also the Goralski Goral peoples are not true polish , they were Magyar puppets as the Tatars was ruled by Magyars and Magyars foisted their culture on the south east Slovaks and polish nations!!!

Hello from Romania neighbors! respect for your outfits and the weird little dance...one thing I managed to see...you also have those girls in the backround that only know how to yell HUIUIUIUIUIUI...man they are annyoing..
Well, look at romanian folk dances, which is nothing else than hitting your feets on the grounds, like a primitive African tribe, yelling IUIUIUIUI, in your dresses which resemble the pijamas and dirty sandals (opinci), to a shitty balcanic music. I would be ashamed to be Romanian, having such primitive folk dances and costumes like yours.
OMG, such an ignorant comment! I am not Romanian, but their dances are also amazing! Just like the Hungarian one!
@ Ok, I did not went to a video showing Romanian dances, or music to make offensive comments on them. Even my videos were attacked by Romanians making hatredful comments and adding dislikes on them. Many many videos with Hungarian content, have 1 or 2 Romanian offending comments. I recognize, this was one of the lightest from them.
Many times they write: "You stole our dances or our music."
Romanians like to make hate comments on Hungarian music or dance videos, but I never saw for example videos made by Romanians presenting Hungarian music or culture.

We do not approach hatredful to their culture, but we are angered if they attack ours.

You try to live in an environment where nobody speaks your language neither practice's your tradition. They are trying there best to stay hungarian. I moved back to hungary at the age of nine and I have lived so far half of my life here. Im a violinist and pratice folkdance. Its way easier to learn it here because its naturally taught. I lool back to my days in America and the difference is night and day. Dont judge them, instead respect them for learning and keeping the tradition as much as they can. Trust me i know alot of people who are Hungarian-Americans but they know nothing about the mother country! Minden tiszteletem a tiétek így tovább!

Nincs semmi probléma. Legalább van aki belátja hogy téved. Sokan elitélnek minket mert amerikaiak vagyunk és szarul táncolunk, de senkinek nem jut eszébe hogy bármit megteszünk csak hogy magyarok maradjunk. Ez a fontos szerintem. :)

Wrong! s can be replaces with Z for hungarian.
Lachlan GMBH well not at all, cz is usually stands for accentual c in archaic Hungarian like czukor or czifra but cz and cs never replaced aaaand modern Hungarian do not use cz as an independent sound nowadays

Im hungarian and I do this dance- they are so lucky to do it so slow- we can barely blink while doing the sance cause we have to do it like REALLY FAST AS POSSIBLE and we will have to do the dance in heels.- rip my ankles
I’ve watched Hungarian dance before and there was so much fast spinning that I got dizzy just watching them! I’m Hungarian, too, andI loved watching this dance. It takes me back to my childhood when my family went International Village where we partook of Hungarian food and enjoyed the beautiful folk dances. The dance troupe was called the Tambouritzens.

I learnt the Czárdás quite differently. For one, it was much faster, for another the steps were entirely different. Who knows what this was ... And yes the costumes went as drab either - much more vibrant, just entirely different.

I'm Hungarian-American from my mothers side (Cleveland) and Irish-American from my dads side. I must say I just can't get into Hungarian dance or music. It's far too shrill sounding and not very aesthetic. Irish dance and music I like way far better.
Irish and Hungarian dances are related. But Irish a little bit simplified popularized with global fashionable features. And even Scottish is related in a similar way. Study them thoroughly and compare the Scottish sword dance for example with Hungarian "botos" . It is no quation there are some basic and important similar characteristics, but the main difference is that Hungarian csárdás is more ancient, genuine unharmed and consequnetly mor complicated, so less easy to be perceived and understood basically. The explanation is our country folks always kept them apart from Anglo Saxon, German or Austrian influences, instinctively due to mainly our so different language. So the nation and folk kept their culture in the countryside. Irish and Scottish people were in less lucky situation. Nevertheless as a side effect, their dance and culture can match the global culture and taste more smoothly. They are closer to you as you are further from your roots now.
