    jesus man, you work that octatrack like it owes you money

    This is thee best combo of the Elektron’s machines. A class apart and ahead of its time.
    In 2007 I wanted the Monomachine and Machine drum
    I got the Monomachine in 2007 and was lost.
    I sent it back to Elektron in two days. 😭😭😭😭
    And I still regret it each day. Then there were no videos or support and I knew little of sound synthesis.
    Today I miss it in my Elektron Arsenal

    I love the look of the new Elektron boxes more than the old ones, but the old ones look so cool too, remind me a bit of telecommunications and electronics test equipment from the 80s

  • @papertarrasque

    Nice tune! I blame the silver Elektrons for the start of my GAS even though I never got to own one. It's cool to see more people putting out videos of gear that aren't the latest and greatest (maybe this is just the greatest).

  • @trig2010
    @trig2010 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This is sonically gorgeous and massively inspiring. I’ve been pissing around with DAW centric setups for too long. This has made me realise that hardware is my future, and Elektron is my destiny.

  • @ascetik
    @ascetik 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Truly epic! Your breakdown of the strengths and weaknesses of each machine and 'the Elektron workflow' is spot on. It almost feels like a sonic love letter.

  • @aaronthompson317
    @aaronthompson317 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’ve listened to this a few times. But not until today realized what a great piece of work it is! Love the how you manage the dynamics of each part. Awesomely complex but too noisy. That screechy pad sequence that runs throughout most of the track is killer and the ending with the strings is epic!

  • @Megallicafan18
    @Megallicafan18 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is astonishingly well made, Monomachine and MD are probably my favourite synths ever, the eerie early 00s nostalgia (times I can't remember very well myself due to the fact I was 4yo in 2000, but I think the faded idea I have of that time makes it even more interesting) is captured perfectly here thanks to your programming skills and Elektrons' tone both. Thanks!

  • @dcosta7120

      It is easy to become dispirited when you see someone do it so well, but I think what's important is that you enjoy what you do yourself and keep learning. I've watched Jay, Ehsan Gelsi, Mr Dataline, etc, all brilliant at what they do, but also great teachers and I've slooowly gotten better to the point my wife no longer takes the P, but actually likes what I do :) Have fun.
