This shouldn’t have happened to begin with. Century III was a nice mall for the community and a place for people to go. This only happened because of Moonbeam’s bullshit. If Moonbeam didn’t own it and if there was a company that actually cared, Century III could of been saved and would still be doing fine.
Unfortunately people that are responsible for that area of the townships or boroughs or cities have shortsightedness. Not the folks that are there now but the ones that preceded them when the mall was being built. People who are in politics very rarely think about what's going to happen 20 or 30 years later. What did you think was eventually going to happen to a building like that? You might remember, GreenGate mall in Greensburg faced a similar issue. There are remedies for situations like this. Remember when they knocked the three River Stadium down and the north side of $40 million was still owed on the stadium. They're not spending their own money, they're spending your money.

Agreed! I truly wished Simon Property had owned it...they are surely upkeeping Ross Park & South Hills Village
The foundation of the structure is bad, some Brutalist masterpieces are just cursed
They ought to rent out sledgehammers and hard hats and let people get a half hour to break stuff.
😜 Spencer's Gifts was the coolest place in Century lll. I bought edible underwear there once...

I suppose they'll build another amazon distribution center to replace it.
If Simon company had taken ownership of Century III instead of Moonbeam, this whole mess could've been avoided and Century III would still be around.
The foundation is bad because it was built on top a slag dump
@@ryanglaser5336 well that’s pretty amazing that it lasted over 40 years and lasted in great shape until it became abandoned.
