There's more than enough characters in the franchise I don't see why they're recycling the same characters and bringing them in from different multiverse.. They don't need a multiverse . I feel like The intro to mk Armageddon alone held more hype than Mk1's Entire Expansion

MK9 wasn’t made by a whole new development team. Midway was bought by WB and the Midway Chicago team that was headed by Ed Boon and always made Mortal Kombat was just renamed NRS since Midway wasn’t a thing anymore.

Multiverse nonsense was like penguins in the mid 2000’s, zombies in the late 2000’s/early 2010’s, or capeshit in the mid to late 2010’s. Unironically spider-verse and its consequences have been a disaster for animation and the concept of the multiverse.
