Thank you so much for showing us the initial learning experience! I did my very first resin pour this week! I de-molded it after 2 days and sanded it before the top coat, but when I used my heat gun to move the 2nd layer/top coat, the piece started to sag! I wanted to watch this video to see what factors allow the resin casting to change shape even after it sets...because I thought mine was set! Whoops. I tried to recoup by putting it on a flat surface but I definitely underestimated how much the heat gun could do even when the resin was hard enough to sand after de-molding. Thanks for all the effort that you put into your channel! You provide so much super-helpful info.
Really cool work, and love the mold! Thanks for this. Every time I see a tutorial, it teaches me so much, and saves me time and tears. I did get a good giggle thinking about all the things that could get caught up in the resin flow around my house (mainly cranky cats)
Gorgeous! I did this myself on my first ever resin try and it got so thin on the base that it cracked and split. It is so pretty though and you've made me remember it so I'm now going to pour clear into it and "glue" it back together as it's a very deep one that I made for a candle to sit in so you won't see the clear! Thank you, your videos are always really educational and inspiring. I love this bowl, going to try it! 🥰
I definitely like the fact you showed us that you are just like us learning different ways and even if they didn’t work you still aired the video. It makes you very honest in my eyes. Keep posting more videos I like your work 🙏🏼👌🏼
I love the things I learn along with you in films like this. Thank you so much! I bought a huge lamp st glass globe to try this with. I'm actually wanting mine to drip for a splash look.
That would be great for my Froot Loops! I think they turned out really cool. That larger blue one is probably still going to be quite beautiful when you're done fixing it. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Sheri - haven't tried this method, but it's good to see the good and the not so good results before attempting! They all looked good - very sculptural.
Thanks for the wonderful video! The first part of it was like oh so it happens to others as well😯lol! I really learnt from the second part because I was thinking of using the silicon mould method. And please don't throw away that if you haven't already.
Hi sherry well done I done the same basically but I used a bottle to drape it over so all hanging down and I left mine for seven hours but I thought that it was to long. It's cold here to. Keep up your cool work
Thx Sheri new subscriber here. Love the variety of your vids. Thx for sharing this n saving the rest of us from making these mistakes. I’ve made little trinket bowls from pouring leftover resin in between 2 silicone egg poacher moulds. They turn it out very cute!
That large blue fluted looking one can be recasted up side down. Just use clear epoxy resin while it curing in stages and it should harden the thin areas and make it stronger. Because im litterally in love with that one and it would be a shame if you just toss it. Also a dremal whould to totally be able to sand all the edges and get rid of the stuck stick lol. Hope that helps.
Temperature always plays a big part if curing.. i use a rope an put plastic over it to keep resin in then mold when at the consistency i want for drips or no drips. Masking tape painters tape is good to cinch in an does not stick
Fun fact; when it comes to goof ups in resin a heat gun is your friend!! With the large blue bowl that has thick edges and a thin center, I would remove drips and smooth edges (with a heat gun) and completely remove thin center and use this beautiful piece to hold a planter. Place potted plant in the center and VOILA!!! Statement piece. ✌Happy New Year all!!!
I think it's awesome that you show your mistakes. I loved all of them and my brain is on overdrive because I really want to try this technique. I was wondering what you do with the "mistakes". Can they be broken into chip and used in another pour to add texture in your design? Would like to hear if anyone knows if this would work and/or have other ideas on what to do with them.
I still think the big blue bowl looks great! I’m sure if you touched it up with a dremel (and get the paddle pop stick off lol) it would be great on like a hallway table? I’d say keep it for sure. Maybe cast a layer of clear on the inside so it gets a little stronger in the middle? Altogether AMAZING job. I also love the red and gold one.
I had the same problems. I poured a clear base inside the one like yours where the silicone ran down the sides. This made it stable & useable. Definitely too cold in Australia at the moment . I think we need a temp of 20 minimum to make it work. 😳😞Fun but frustrating
What kind of plastic sheet is that? I can't seem to find something that thick. I don't want to use Sarann Wrap or cling wrap because I feel it would get stuck in the crevasses and hard to remove.
Hello, Sheri im asking and asking where i can get this plastic paper? Because i just started to pour resin, and making resin coasters, and i want to try to do a bowl... With this paper. Thanks. ❤️
ooo i think some pigment from your canisters rubbed off on your hand. hope that wasnt bad for your skin health or anything! thank you so much for sharing this
even though you let it cure for 15 hours, when you try to shape it and you touch it/press it or something, doesn't it leave any mark? like fingerprints ?
Just found you today, your In Australia right? I truly thought it was always hot there, so when you said it was cold there I was like what’s cold to you, thinking you were gonna say like 60-70 🤣 I didn’t know it got that cold !! Anyways I love ALL your videos
You moved it after 3hrs, try doing it after 4hrs only because you ised so much thick Resin, done this before and it worked perfectly, try it and see. Goodluck.
Products are very good , only thing is most of the time in the video it was focused on you . Request if you can say small things by showing product status will be great.
Why are u not wearing gloves and a respirator? Breathing those chemicals is dangerous. You have to be the 50th person I’ve seen doing this. My lord, read the damn bottles

LOVE that you included your first take!
Thanks for showing us your first attempts at this process! It's great to see the ups and downs!
Loved this, the free form, organic work looks fun. Was great to see what worked and what didn’t! Great to see an Australian channel too 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great that your showing fails as well as wins, keeps it real.
it's all a learning experience
The large blue, is stunning, looks like a flower. My favorite
Thank you for being so transparent. I love that about you. It's nice to know that you're still learning as well.😊
The gold and red bowl is gorgeous!
Awesome work, I say we learn by our mistakes. Your work is beautiful.
I love you colour choices. Thank you for showing us the trial and errors involved! The final product is beautiful
Really cool work, and love the mold! Thanks for this. Every time I see a tutorial, it teaches me so much, and saves me time and tears. I did get a good giggle thinking about all the things that could get caught up in the resin flow around my house (mainly cranky cats)
Pam Miller cats 🐈 just do what they want 😂

Your work is just as beautiful and eye-catching as yours. Thank you for your instructive videos.
Thank you for watching
Nice to see when things do not go right .. I am still learning as well and have made similar mistakes lol but that last bowl looks really nice
That would be great for my Froot Loops! I think they turned out really cool. That larger blue one is probably still going to be quite beautiful when you're done fixing it. Thanks for sharing!
it looks great now that there are no paddle pop sticks stuck to it
@@sherivegasartist Ha! Ha! "Paddle pop sticks stuck to it." Say that, three times fast!
Wonderful video. Love the colors and your instruction is very useful! Thx for sharing!
Really love how both bowls turned out
love that you show the mistakes so helpful so I dont waste resin
Love the most honest presentation/tutorial-mistakes and all.
Can you believe on a second thought I like the first blue one more , I don't know if you can redo it in sea side version😍 and see how it looks 🤩
Thank you for working thru errors step by step. Great for a beginner
Thanks Sheri - haven't tried this method, but it's good to see the good and the not so good results before attempting!

Thank you for this video..Your second bowl is absolutely gorgeous!🤎
Glad you like it!
So cute you show the fail . Very helpful.
Love your honesty, brilliant effects , thank you for sharing

Definatly like that you have showed your mistakes, makes people realise what not to do 👍🏼
Amy Forrester I think I will show them more often
I really liked the last bowl, great job.
even though it didn't all go right, it's still so beautiful ... you're amazing ...
Lovely. The bowls are pretty as well
Thanks Sheri for the great tutorial. I am wanting to try this technique, so I feel a bit more inspired to give it a go now!
Helen Gaffney I would love to see what you make
love the large blue one....... hey, you now have a new large blue lid for your color! hehehehe love the other one. nice colors. tks for sharing!
Haha that’s so true
Really good lessons learned for when I get to try it
Such a great video and beautiful work 👏❤
I loved both of the big ones🤩😍
This is awesome best one ever and do good we get to see what could go wrong
Hi sherry well done I done the same basically but I used a bottle to drape it over so all hanging down and I left mine for seven hours but I thought that it was to long. It's cold here to. Keep up your cool work
Lyndall Car thank you 😊 I have a few more ideas now that I have done these ones.
I really enjoyed this video, I made the same mistake and have not yet tried it again....
Fab bowls! 💜
Kylie Wanstall thank you so much

oh that's a great idea. I might have to try that with my left over resin
I've been doing this too Nola, so far my success rate has been 25%. I'm still trying to figure it out.

Precioso. Cuánto tiempo debo de esperar para sacarlo del molde y colocarlo en el bol?

Pour some clear resin in the center of the blue bowl, sand some of the edges and then polish it up.
Great idea
Beautiful
Thanks for thd the laugh and showing the fails!
very very beautiful work
Amazing job! This plastic looks thicker than a saran wrap kind of thing. I know you said a table top cover. Where do you get that?
Great job

These are beautiful! Where did you find the mold?
Very nice
When you can tuch the resin and not get it on your finger when you pull it away from your piece then it is set enough to make your form
Itis beautiful
Can you please tell me what kind of different bases can you use for the Resin art?
I’m glad I’m not the only one. Lol
I loved this video. The blue looks like a flower. Where are you that’s it so cold?
It probably isn't compared to other places but it feels like it to me
Sheri is in Australia Nyoka. 😉
Fun to watch.
Girl this cracked me up. I did the same shit!! Got things stuck to my resin. Popsicle sticks included. Resin is soooo finicky
Hi where did you get thus mold xx I can't fi t one big enough xxx
from shatter shapes
@@sherivegasartist thankyouuuuu

It’s okay they are all skin safe
Im interested in your online course tried the link but need to know cost
even though you let it cure for 15 hours, when you try to shape it and you touch it/press it or something, doesn't it leave any mark? like fingerprints ?
No it didn’t cause it wasn’t gel any more it had started the hardening process

Ofishal Clipsta in some parts of Australia 🇦🇺 we get more snow then the Swiss alps.
sheri vegas I feel really dumb for not knowing this! Also have an Australian friend! American schools dont teach us much about the world.
How long would you suggest to weight to shape the bowl if living in Florida?
I wouldn’t know that as I’m from Australia. You might have to keep checking on it while it’s setting
the silver who was it from?is there a link
vicki jen from Barnes
Where did you get that mold from?
Shattered shapes
Theis beaultiful
How do you know how much resin to mix? Is there a formula?
For amount of resin need for each art work you can google resin calculator
@@sherivegasartist thank you. I’ll check that out.
I want that blue bowl
Jose LOVELIFE you can have it
i loooveeeee

You are beautiful 😍
Nice ❤️🇩🇰
Is the resin not hot
Art resin seems to be too viscous for free forming unless you get your timing perfect. Going to try a different brand
Jeffrey McKenzie art resin has a longer pot life then other resin so it would take a lot longer before you could work with it
Not tried yet
Your funny
3 hours are not enough

LOVE YOUR CHANNEL MY DEAR !
Is that into resin or let's resin? The color?
