    Stone Temple Pilots, one of the most talented, successful yet underappreciated bands of the 1990s. They deserve to be in the Rock HOF- though the Hall is a joke.

    • @TheRealMrLofasz
      @TheRealMrLofasz ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree but at the same time, fuck that rock hall. So many great bands are ignored. It’s a badge of honor to not be in. Why have that bogus institution make money off of great bands?

    • @stevehope6283
      @stevehope6283 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Definitely appreciated. At least by me. R&R Hall of Fame? maybe but I'm sure there's others not on it that deserves to be before STP and I love STP.

      @@stevehope6283 Steve, I used have a mental list of bands that deserved to be in the rock hall, but in recent years most have been elected (likely due to running out of artists; more and more artists are from the Country and Rap/Hip-Hop genres).
      But I think STP is near the top of that neglected- and definitely underappreciated list.

    Honestly-always liked STP a lot; however, this interview in its entirety was the first full video I’ve ever watched of Rick’s and when it was over, I wanted more. I have a completely different way of looking at STP, their process, and the unique journey they took in creating some of the most memorable rock music of the time period. I had a friend in high school that was absolutely googly giddy over STP-I was like yeah, they’re good. Now I get it. Respect to this dude.

      Have you checked out Rick's channel? There are TONS of interesting videos. He has a series of vids called "what makes this song great" where he breaks down songs and talks about production details--Interstate Love Song is one of them and its great. Alot of interviews and other content as well.

    I remember when they hit the scene people were stating they were ripping off Pearl Jam or a Pearl Jam clone band. Just because the vocals from the song Plush reminded people of Eddie Vedder. STP is so much more than than that one song. They are on top with all the greats of that era.

    Anytime I get mad at myself for scuffing chords or notes I gotta remember that all the legends do it all the time too.

    You could really see it in the early days in videos and at the concerts I saw with them. It was his band. Megadeth crowd was ruthless.

    What an absolutely great interview! Who knew Robert DeLeo was so cool and was the talented song writer behind STP. Fantastic.
