As someone who used to max my drop rate via 4x flashy vellum souls and S rank drop jewels + running coffee and candy buff the entire length of every AB session, I think drop rate is quite useless. My drop rate was a flat 26% unbuffed back then. I personally feel speed > drop rate. Just my theory, but assuming that nodes have a hypothetical fixed drop rate of 1/5000 mob kills, a 30% drop rate increase would only mean it becomes 1.3/5000 mob kills. It’s a different story if 30% drop rate increase were 1/1666 mob kills but that seem very very unlikely. Well these numbers are hypothetical so take it with a grain of salt. I found virtually no difference in node gain whether I was using exp or drop rate jewels and souls. Speed jewels with CD souls however gave me a slightly better node gain more frequently. Better to just invest in speed or exp or CD to increase kill rate rather than increase drop rate imo. The best map for farming nodes under lvl 215 for me is definitely Af30. More kills more drops. Even with an emblemed lvl38 close to pba mythic weapon + lvl 45 showdown and lvl60 quad star boost nodes, I take about 4-6 hits to kill in Af90. Doesn’t help that night lord is a shit mobbing class. Look forward to NLs mobbing potential after showdown gets an upgrade from explorer revamp though! In hindsight , maybe my experience in drop rate and af90 is specifically just for NL and doesn’t carry over to mobbing classes like lumis, IL mages and FP mages etc or every other class for that matter.
as Nexon never revealed the formula for actual drop rate, that 30% might be just a small factor. for example the formula could be "real drop rate = 1/5000 x (1 + 0.1 x drop rate increase)" then it would be 1.03/5000 for 30% increase. You never know. But I do feel I got more nodestones when I have 50% drop rate increase. although it's hard to be sure statistically as you need a large amount of drops (like 1000 drops) to have meaningful comparison. I found AF90 pretty good as a luminous when you have a party of 5 people with good damage. The mobs count in AF90 is higher than AF30 and the default mob drop rate should only be equal or higher as mob's level is higher. unless your party is not able to clear AF90 instantly (you definitely need ancient weapon there)
Drop rate jewels vs Speed Jewels, what's best? also .. for Petites, I heard that having just 1 petite it can also help as they have magnet not like fever magnet but they can collect more than regular pets, (you will lose the auto buffs but sometimes if you are well equipped you can still ignore this just for node farming AB)
I personally prefer drop rate jewel when farming nodestones as it also gives some exp and KBK RES. Yes one petite also works very well but for most classes one buff skill will decrease your dps a lot and that will affect the amount of nodestones you get as well. but still it's one feasible method if you can't afford 3 set
@@maplestorymtips is that so? cause I randomly got kicked out or complaint for leeching when fully equipped luna pets. guess they just don't know how meso farming works.

each person only sees his/her own drops, they won't collect your drops so don't worry
