Ok, this is by far the best tutorial on Winisd I ever seen. I’ve learned several really good key areas I wasn’t using. Thanks for everything you do for the audio community. Cheers!!!!!
This was an absolute stunning tutorial, The best i've seen. What I loved the most was the back and forth between different scenarios or boxes to show how the changes you made impacted different areas and why they didnt in other. Thank You 🥰😀
@@RAW-CAt Cheers mate, you were 100% right its super fun once you get a few hours under your belt. I've been able to modify a box i made today from a Vented to a 6th order just by playing around as you showed. Thanks again
Merci beaucoup pour toutes ces explications, un tutoriel formidable 🤗. Je sais maintenant à quoi je vais occuper ma soirée. Good luck for your next sub box 👍
At 18:40, why is your xmax red line at 17 when you entered 24 when putting in the parameters? When I click on excursion, my red line is at what I entered in the ts parameters page.
Hello, in the program we have to enter the volume of the box with or without the sub volume include ? For a little sealed box it change a lot, Thx for the video.
Thanks buddy. You were very helpful. In the other video, when we transfer it to sub box pro, the port length appears to be different, which one should we use as basis? Which is more correct? @RAW-CAt
Quick question though. Your spec sheet shows DC Resistance is 3.6+3.6 ohm. In the Re box you said "this is 1.8 in series". However, that's incorrect. That would be parallel. But, in the "Voicecoil" box it is set at "1" and under "Connection" box is is set to "Parallel". Wanting to know if you misspoke when you said "1.8 this is series" or did not change the Voicecoil and Connection box appropriately. I hope this question makes sense, it threw me off as I was entering in my sub’s parameters. Thank you for any clarification on this, and again, thank you for everything you do for our hobby. Cheers!!!
There might be a mistake in the video yes. This will affect your data if you will be looking at the impedance curve or max SPL. I use this simulation 99.9% of the time for the frequency response. As anything that has to do with power in real world will be different from simulations.
@@RAW-CAt Any advice my friend? My subs are Rockford Fosgate P2D4-10 dual 4 ohm. The paperwork shows “Re” as 6.40 ohms with a note that this is both coils wired in series. Which gives each coil a value of 3.2 ohms (pretty sure). When I’m inputting my parameters, it auto calculates the “Re” as 6.4 ohms. Awesome. But with “Re” set as 6.4, I’m unsure of what to input into the box for “Voicecoil”…1 or 2…..and also in the “Connection” box…..parallel or series. Any help for a poor Texan audio enthusiast? I appreciate your time. Cheers!!!
@@RAW-CAtawesome, thank you sir. Does the “connection” box matter? As far inputting parallel or series? Once again, thank you so much!!!! There’s not a lot of people that would take the time to answer these kinds of questions. Cheers!!!
@@curbowbass6124 I believe it matters more if you are simulating a system with multiple drivers. Like a dual sub box. I will admit that I don't really know as I don't use that.

thank you, please I have a 30w, 8ohm speaker. that's the only 2 data I read on the emant. how I can calculate the air of my box (speaker) to be made using winISD
Now following triticums improved port area calculator, the max air velocity should not exceed 30 m/s, much more than 17m/s. And thoughts on why the big difference?

I designed a box to 25Hz but to get the port noise down I selected the option to use 2 ports. Winisd says the ports need to be 69cm long, does this mean I need 2x 69cm long ports or is it 2x35cm ports? The length of the port doesnt change in Winisd based on the number of ports used so I dont know if I need the total length of all the ports combined to be what Winisd recommends or if they all need to be the full 69cm length.
Whatever winisd tells you, you need EACH port to be that length. Yeah, better iption is to make a massive single port. Remember, the lower the tuning the bigger the port.
@@RAW-CAt I’ve tried another sub and it seems to be okay now, that setup was meant to exceed xmaxx at 55hz😂 I must have done something wrong, but now a different sub seems to be fine!

I have a question. Which graph shows which is better when comparing two different subwoofers? SPL? Transfer function magnitude?
SPL takes power into consideration. Magnitude does not.

That is the volume of the box without the sub. Sub displacement needs to be added.
