    Great series Cary. Black Knight just rules. I've had mine for 8 years. I played one in the 80s as a teen. It is part of my DNA. Can't get enough of this amazing game. Also love my BK 2000 and the music. But my first love will always be the original.

    Those polished ramps make all the difference to complete the finished look...And that stained wood on the shooter lane, awesome...It turned out really nice...

    Love the blue flipper rubbers on the upper yellow bats but all I see is ketchup and mustard with the yellow rubbers on the red finned posts...to each his own tho

    This thing is stunning. You did an amazing job on the restore and on this video series. Fantastic work, Cary.

    Nice! That clear plastic ball guide behind the upper right drop targets has to be custom made. Mine has a wire rail there. I've never seen anything like that before. Weren't you guys wondering why there were two holes in the playfield on either side of the drop targets and two holes on either side of the socket? Oh, yeah, the plastic you are missing is the one on the front right of the upper playfield. I thought it might have been the little one on the front left of the upper playfield. I think I got at least 2 of those in my kit from CPR.
    Excellent job and fun videos!

      We were for sure curious of the half sized posts that were used on that guide, and it didn't seem right. Never can find a good pic for behind those drop targets. Barely even visible while playing. I found a pic that gives me somewhat a better view and I believe I see the wire rail you speak of. Interesting to see that the custom job someone did wasn't that bad. lol. I have seen some hacks before. lol. Thanks for the info! I'll pass it along to Jason and maybe he can find that part online or off a donor machine in the future.

      Check the Pinside thread. Someone posted an excellent picture of what you guys are missing! I was just too lazy to go down and take a picture of mine. I wish I had painted black around my inserts as my hardtop went down just a tiny bit off and you can see some bare wood in a couple of spots. I love all the polished pieces and what you guys did with the ramps. You should put up a custom rubber kit on Titan so I can order a set of the yellow rings. :-) That looks sharp.

      @@dzorbas13 I went straight to pinside after your comment to set the record straight. lol. I have made an edit on the video description. I would add an annotation at that spot of the video, but youtube took that away. The rubber kit from Titan can be easily done. Just add the "Black Knight" kit to your cart. Then you can just change all the ring colors to 'yellow' instead of standard white. Titan has a very user friendly website. Thanks, bro!

    Any comments on whether the Hardtop plays significantly differently? I've heard people with PF protectors say they didn't like the change. Hardtop isn't a PF protector, I know, but... :)
    I have a High Speed, which is supposedly getting the Hardtop treatment soon. Trying to determine if I salvage my PF as-is or just wait for the Hardtop to arrive.

      It will make the game play faster for sure. Less friction. So, whether or not that is a big deal is up to the individual. I like games to play fast - so I can't wait for SoF to be released so I can really make mine look great!

      Just to follow up, I did install the Hardtop on my High Speed - and it is *awesome*! It is so smooth. Once you play a Hardtopped version of a game, you'll never want to go back to a regular playfield. For those who think of a Hardtop as a playfield protector... don't. They are totally different things.

    Hey Cary...This was agreat video series. I'm thinking of installing a hardtop also. I was wondering how this one is holding up after 4 years? Are you still a fan of hardtops, and will you continue to use them? Thanks.

    • @CaryHardy
      @CaryHardy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hardtops is still a product that I recommend. No issues yet!

      @@CaryHardy In your honest opionion, not considering cost or time as a factor, would you choose a CPR repro or a hardtop? What are your reasons? I'm in that situation now and can't for the life of me decide which route to go. Thanks Cary

    I see the missing plastic!! I love the LED kit for the GI. Did you select those colors yourself or is there a kit that has them already? I am in the first stage of my BK restoration. Thanks for the videos!!!

    • @CaryHardy
      @CaryHardy  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      We didn't use a kit. We primarily just used frosted white. He has a blur or red in a spot or two though.

      Nope, we moved on to Centaur. Then we have moved on to Addams Family. Keep on moving! lol.

    How many hours do you think you invested into BK in total? That machine looks fantastic and ready to win a "Best in Show" award! Those ramps look like butter, shiny butter!

    • @CaryHardy

      Somewhere between 20-30hrs. If the cabinet and backglass were in as good of shape as the inside - yes, very good candidate for BoS award. lol.
