This is welcome news, we tried to remain positive but the flight to the Caribbean took us a few days to recover and like you said not how you want to start and end your holiday. Thanks for the update, we’ve been wondering when an announcement was going to be made. 👏
I'm relieved that future passengers will not have to endure them and that P&O have released their mistake. Will be interesting to see they will be partnering up with ??. Thanks for watching and also thankyou so much for subscribing x
We did a reposistioning cruise from the Caribbbean with Marella a few years ago. We chose it rather than P&O so we could fly back to Brum rather than trying to get back to an airport from Soton. Flight out to Bardaos was fine. The flight back from Malaga was fraught. It was an old TUI Nordic 767, everything was in bizarre languages and we couldnt pay for anything in £'s, had to be dollars, Euros or Kroners. Staff were great but there was nothing they could do with people who had paid a lot of £s and were grumpy. We landed at Brum and the plane taxied to somewhere near Bristol to a set of rickety steps to board an asthmatic bus. A bit of litrerary licence but it highlights frustrations at the end of a cruise, it took the gloss off a great cruise, really enjoyed it. It would be even worse flying out on the same aircraft.
Wow that sounds like you had a very interesting journey. I must admit I like to fly direct wherever I can and know exactly who and what I'm flying with. The journey is all part of the holiday and so it needs to be right. Thankyou so much for watching and commenting.
@@cruisingwithjohn Cruised many times with Thomson/TUI/Marella and the flights have been fine on their own airline. This was one case where the return flight ended up on a sister airline in the group. It was a one off and hopefully will not be repeated again. Someone did a tick box scheduling job, they forget about the customers, people who had forked out a lot of money only to have a disappointing end to the holiday.
Just came back from Caribbean on Britannia. We changed from Manchester to Birmingham to avoid Maleth and went with TUI. We had two excellent flights and no delays, arrived back in Birmingham early! Having said that we were interested in finding out how the Maleth flight from Manchester was and several passengers said it was excellent service and food, no delays and they took their own ipads etc so no issues with entertainment. They also said that it was not full so had plenty of room. So a positive review on this occasion. Probably the right decision by P and O overall. Right time to book another cruise...
We are back on the Britannia Jan 2025, really looking forward to it. It will be also interesting to see who else is partnering up with P&O ?. Thanks for watching and commenting
Such great news. My flight out was the worst ever, part of my window was broken 🫣 ice cold chicken not warmed properly had to be sent back, left us with our food trays for 2 hours, and flight home was delayed with no update (although cannot fault friendliness of crew). I tried to ignore the negative remarks until I formed my own opinion but it was an awful flight and seat belt signs on the whole way there too. Plus we overshot the island 3 times and had to circle back to retry and when we finally did land we almost came off the runway 🤣
@@cruisingwithjohn the cruise was wonderful. I miss the days of getting a chocolate on your pillow or finding towel animals in the cabin but otherwise I had a perfect cruise. Back on Arvia in January and cannot wait! Especially now I know we won't fly with Maleth Aero 🙌
@sammyjowigs9438 we just finished a Marella cruise and they still put chocolates on your pillow, not that I got to eat one 😆. Arvia will be fantastic. Do you know what stateroom you have yet ? We are travelling on her in June.
@@cruisingwithjohn no idea on room yet, my last cabin was 11332 I think? I was travelling solo last time but still wanted Balcony room so it cost a fortune but worth every penny. 🤩
Many people are waiting to see what P&O do before they rebook. Thanks for commenting and watching.

Too little, too late. I don't trust P&O. I got my fingers burned to the tune of 600 pounds
Very little detail.

Omg that's so worrying especially at the beginning of a holiday. Hopefully the rest of your trip was OK?. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.

@sammyjowigs9438 absolutely love a balcony. When I was on the Britannia I had a solo balcony, it was perfect.
