This remake looks dope as hell, I remember really liking the original game when I had a chance to play it in arcades and this looks even better.
Not a remake technically a sequel
Hurricane is a million times better than the original.
There's also H2Overdrive which is also a Hydro Thunder sequel in everything but name & made by the people who worked on the original (Hurricane was outsourced to the Riptide GP devs)
It was arcade only but you can play it on your PC nowadays with Teknoparrot.
Was really pissed when it was removed from Xbox Game Pass. That's how I discovered it and have been recommending it ever since.
I don't think any other arcade racer has had this many setpieces. Maybe Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed has it, but nothing at this scale.
Sonic Racing definitely has better production values. It gets a lot harder than this too.
They brought it to games with gold for 15 days. Could be better but I’ll take what I can get

i played this game so much as a kid, im like 85% sure it came pre-installed or something
it was only the demo for it but it SLAPPED

It came preinstalled with our old Xbox 360 as well, it was our favorite game... I still remember coming home from elementary and playing this game against them for hours, we truly used all of the demo version as we could.
Looks like an awesome game! Sadly I have no system I can play it on but I’ll remember this one once I do, I really like these kinds of games. It’s seems to be a mix of Wave Race and F-Zero which I both really like.

Thanks for the wonderful video I didn't know that this game was available on PC I thought I would have to run it through the Xbox 360 Emulator
It might be worth it to emulate though. The PC version is a major downgrade graphically from the Xbox version.
This is the best racing game on the 360 it feels like you need some skill to be good the controls are smooth and i love it

Oh BOI, The first game i ever played on my life; I still remember into the satturdays go into my gramma's house to play that masterpiece (And OMFG is a 12y old game and has Xbox series X graphics rhats amazing)
4:20 Wake Dance and In the Draft are amazing tracks from this game. Still such a shame that this game was never touched by a grand public audience.

It's not and never had multiplayer on PC, it's a port of the 360 version meant for windows tablets. On Xbox 360 or newer it's still multiplayer and still has a playerbase. We've had some server issues in the last year or so but we got them sorted.

this game is one of my favorites! I remember playing it for hours every single day on the xbox when I was younger! oh the nostalgia
Ive played the demo for this game so many times on my xbox 360 back then, ive finally got the chance to fully buy and play all of it plus the dlc a month ago and its so much more fun than i remembered, its sad how underrated this game is and ,even though unlikely, i hope we get a third game that goes just as hard someday.

The 360 version is the superior version. Even better visuals and it runs plain better. Loved playing the demo back in the day.
Skeleton, you deserve more views. If you want to play a good racing game with nuance on it, I recommend you give Sonic Riders (the first one) a try, is really good and everyone slept on it.

@@ASkeleton I really liked that game too, loved the switching between ground, air and water. I specially enjoyed that each lap on the race changed the course, making each race being 3 different tracks. I remember loving the golden axe and skies of arcadia specially.

Awesome review. I'm gonna buy this on the MS Store. Tried to play it on Xenia but it's got some issues that steal away the fun. $10 really isn't bad at all. I'll be muting the music and putting on my speed metal tunes while I play.

You gotta check out the actual 360 version, it looks TONS better than the windows version. It was made for tablets on window 8
Got it for 2.49 on sale. Literally the only reason I set up an Xbox account on PC.
Can hard recommend HTH as well, but i'm just going to mention for anyone that's looking to buy this game: The Xbox version has Local and Online multiplayer (dead as it may be) instead of Ghost mode. There's a caveat where Bermuda, Atlantis and Castle Boom are a DLC unlike in the PC version, but if you have a xbox and want to boat with friends, you can't really go wrong with the Xbox version. Otherwise if you don't care about multiplayer, the PC version works more than fine.

Didn't know that they also made Riptide, masters of the water motorsport genre since it isn't like racing where you just get a flat track as the currents are your worst enemy as well. See Kandagawa jet girls on how NOT to make a water motorsports game

It was free with Xbox live last month. I just found time to play it. Awesome game! I like that it has many alternative rootes! Music is very addictive, not as good as Wipeout one. I would pay full price! 9\10

Checking out the actual "spiritual" sequel H2Ovedrive on Teknoparrot is also a blast, it's shame microsoft never did anything more with hydro thunder after getting it for hth, hydro thunder hurricane 2 would've been an insta purchase for me, no clue who owns the license nowadays
People keep telling me about that game. Think I'll look into Teknoparrot and see if it runs okay.
I’m a big fan of Hydro thunder I also spent my quarters on the original back in the day. I was excited to plat Hydro thunder hurricane when it came out. I was slightly disappointed but the game is great, and I still play it today on my Xbox series x . IGN was not wrong, I don’t agree with their review, but a review is just an opinion of the person reviewing a game, it’s not fact.

I enjoyed the original Hydro Thunder and I was considering buying the XBox Live Arcade version of Hydro Thunder Hurricane during the remaining few days when the XBox 360 store is still up but then I noticed the PC version is currently on sale for about $10 Canadian cheaper than the XBox 360 version so I'm really wondering if I should just buy the PC version instead considering it's only a few dollars and it's not tied to a specific piece of hardware that may Red Ring on me any day now.
I think the problem with Xbox store version is that in has no online multiplayer at all, which sucks because playing this game with friends is a blast
Try it on Friday evenings, you can still get some games. I play it from a series X

I've heard. Wasn't exactly a one button to activate thing.
@@ASkeleton Yeah, the game hides a lot of secrets that require it but doesn't tell you how to do it. You need to have the throttle all the way back and boost (brake and boost on console). You do expend boost and the amount you use determines the height of the jump.
I jus got this game for free for having gold. I wanted to make sure it was worth playing.
IGN is a lagging stock I've heard that this was a good game that's why I don't watch IGN reviews on TH-cam.
hydro thunder was the best game released that year, still the best of all times in xbox game pass and several times ahead any cliche shhitty generic zombie game or any battle royale
ign is not a base for anything, they raded extreme-g lower than f-zero x, that time evryone noticed that they are fanboys and never make a review with any coherence
