I do the same, I sometimes have months away from this game, but its so easy to return to. Something was lost in the Epic sale, since there is almost 0 communication in games today. It can be a good thing since a lot of that stuff was just bad, but I miss people saying "gg" at the end of the game or saying nice shot! Even the kickoffs are automated, since people apparently decided that left-side goes for kickoff everytime.
Srsly tho, how does this channel not have more subs. The costume, the character. the memes, and that opening bit? Delightful!
I'm one of those people who cut their losses when they left Steam. I tolerated some grievances as the game was fun, but leaving Steam was the nail in the coffin for me.

Also completely agree about "nothing feels better than hitting the ball just right," but for a completely different game (with similar ideas): Omega Strikers. It's like the abilities from a normal MOBA meets air hockey, shit is sublime when you do some fucky angle math JUST right and land a close goal.
Egregious monetization is a rot we must excise.
Heads up for the IRL bits you might have set the video recording format to interlace (format with i in its name) or intentional did so in the editor. It causes that weird scanline effect when a object is in movement.

Great vid Skelly! I personally agree with a lot of folks in saying that when it poofed from steam it lost every ounce of interest i had. I never played it but it was always a lingering thought in the back of my mind that i should try it. Back when overwatch first released, the first Summer Games event had Lucioball which was kinda like a Mini rocket league. Everyone who was into ti was a big rocket league fan at the time, and people kept saying to try RL out, but i never did. I think it also suffers from the lack of Casual play that some games suffer from, whereas the competitive mindset is in every game, casual/ranked or not. Ironically Overwatch suffered from the same thing where you couldn't go into a casual game looking to play the game and chill. People would get pissed if you sucked ass, and everyone took it so seriously.

I liked this game at first, but I just got tired of it fully quickly after the first week passed after its steam release. The people were playing it extremely tryhard too, nothing wrong with trying your best but this game irritated me more than anything, and since they moved off steam I haven't played it and I don't intend to. Just like league of legends, I don't like the game, I don't stay. Great video as always!
conceptually rocket league is amazing. too bad the skill ceiling is so high that it's near impossible to enjoy. also it just so happens to combines some of the 2 most toxic types of gamers: car gamers and sports gamers
