It really does. I want is close to that sound as possible from a Squire Affinity or '60s CV tele. Any recommendations on replacement pickups for either of those two teles to obtain, as close as possible, this awesome sound?
I bought mine from Andertons in there sale last December and got triple loyalty points👍 I’ve added the two stickers to mine 👍 I bought the Joe Strummer signature Camp Fire electro acoustic in January 👍🍺
LoL,.your welcome to go find yourself an affordable 1966 Telecaster that you can then wear down on your own. Im sure theres countless 66 Teles priced around $1800 just waiting to be discovered.
@@terryshrk Yes, perhaps, but this particular version is a "replica" relic (Very Well created!) not the real Telecaster as used by the real Joe Strummer from the Clash. That version is Priceless. To relic a vintage Telecaster from 1966 would be a little sinful, unless, of course, you wear it down while doing alot of live concerts :) Personally, I wear down and relic to pieces my 2 Harley-Benton Telecasters with Seymor D. pickups, which is ALOT cheaper and less sinful. LOL By the way, it was because of Dagan´s wonderful review and presentation here on the PMTVUK , that I bought his EVH-Wolfgang Special "Black Stealth" guitar a few months back. It is truly one rocking machine ! Superb in every way. I would not relic it one bit. Its too beautiful to scratch.
All well and good...but...Fender need to do an "OLGA" Telecaster. Michael Elgar is an excellent guitarist ,and 5 decades later ,deffo needs a yellow tribute. his band the "TOY DOLLS" are still playing ,even at the ripe old age of 60 !!!. So come on fender...do the guy a blooming favour eh !!!.
Wouldn't see spending the money on a custom guitar. I could probably buy a 60's tele from Squier and install 60's tele pickups. It would be less money and more bang.
Not sure what year model it was but I played one of these at Guitar Center. It had the worst fret job ever. Because it was used, I thought maybe someone switched the neck on it. Nope. It was the real thing.
Love Strummer, but I have played this is stores and the relicing is weird. Looks like a sticker (even though it isn’t). F one has one to sell me second hand for, say £700, I would take it off your hands. But I am not forking out twice the price.
Also, do you honestly think he would have been OK with this? I've been listening for decades now and I don't believe for a second he would have been OK with this.
In the seventies and eighties? Of course not. Before he died? Yeah, he would have been ok with this. His family and his foundation get a cut of the profits.
Joe Stummer is my hero. I love the man and would love a signature guitar, but this fake relic is just bad. Looks like it was painted on or stickers. Would rather have had a black Tele without the bad looking relic.
I returned this guitar because the relic job was pathetic in my opinion. Embarrassing to be more direct about it. Sounded and played alright but terrible finish.
This is the opposite of punk rock. Joe Strummer would have been LIVID that Fender is making a "signature" Tele. Notice Fender came out with it AFTER he was dead? No coincidence there. This may well be the least punk rock thing ever and screw Fender for pissing all over his grave with this grotesque ca$h grab.
Fender and Gibson faking old guitars. If anybody else does it it's called forgery/counterfeit and it's punishable by law and the guitar should be destroyed. Hahaha. It's exactly like faking antiques and paintings. You can make any good telecaster play and sound like that.
The Clash!!!!!, you exelent guitarrist, i am from brasil.
She's a punk rocker to the bone!!! Great tone!!!
tell ya what man your reviews are top notch right now, last few i've seen have been a prefect balance of commentary and tones, appreciated.
Joe and The Clash ❤❤❤
now that sounds amazing

You can buy the Strummer pickups separately now. $149.
Bought mine last month from PMT. It’s a fantastic and easy playing guitar even without Dagan’s skills.
Bought mine in December lol
Great demo of this guitar and the pickups!

The real Telecaster was no "relic", it was a pure road-worn rock concert machine!

the only guitar that matters
I have a rockers telecaster and it sounds like this Joe Strummer fender it's loud and clear on distortion and overdrive just like this fender.
I think my rockers black and white telecaster can match the Joe Strummer fender for tone and sound. Hell Yeah it sounds good.
You CAN do everything with a tele, if it has a humbucker in the neck thats coilsplitable. Nothing a few simple mods cant remedy.
Clash City Rockers, please.
It was on my list of riffs I HAD to remember to play! But I got caught up in the moment. It’s such a great tune!
There’s two things on my guitar shopping list I don’t have, a Tele and a reliced guitar. Mmmmm
Thanks for playing simple chords!! And a few riffs from the clash, not like the m 0 r 0 n of GregGuitars 😂😂😂
Do you have a band currently ? If so, where can I find your music ?
Great video brother.
Does it have copper shielding? How's the 60 cycle hum on it?

AMEN!!!! OLGA is 1000 times better guitarist than most any of these dudes with signature models!!!
@@MrWhiskeytangofoxtro high five matey !!!
What amp does Dagan plays there?
There’s nothing behind him so I’m assuming a modeller
@@Human-hq3dy I dont think so, mate
Nah, it’s my usual Blackstar St James 6L6 👍

Mine was the same way and Guitar Center had to sand down the frets
Does the Squire CV 60's Tele have these same dirty tones?
No

Not to mention the price. He probably paid a few hundred for his. Nothing punk rock about expensive guitars.

Who buys these lame signature guitars?
Non musicians mostly.
It is wrong color.
$20,000? Joe is turning over in his grave. This is the LEAST punk rock thing ever! Oh well, Capitalism beats everything.
