I don't want to hear another word about Utah for the rest of the season. They were never the 7th best team in the country. They should have outside of the Top 25, and all of those ESPN talking heads who talked them up only did so so that they could promote the SEC once Florida won.

As a Utah fan, I honestly found this game to be pretty entertaining. The receiver losing his footing on the last play was unfortunate but that’s how football goes sometimes. Florida is a pretty good team. They obviously know how to play with elite teams and that stadium is a pretty difficult place to play in. Good game.

To be fair I don't think he could have made the play if he didnt slip. The LB was just sitting on that route and a pass to the TE all the way and jumped in front of where he would have been anyways. Utah was using and abusing UF with TEs all night so he was ready for them to go to one again.

I knew we could beat them. I knew AR wouldn’t be perfect but could and would make plays. It was all up to the defense which looked much better than last year. They look like a strong, well connected team. LET’S GO GATORS!

AR15 was a man amongst boys. We don't win that game with Emory. Which leads me to ask yet again, what was Mullins thinking? Mullins argued there wasn't even a qb controversy, and Emory was far and away better. Anyone with two eyeballs could figure who the better player was... Mullins didn't care about UF, he cared more about his own mystic as being the QB maker. What a fool.

I’m still sad about the loss, but Utah held their own on the road in front of 90,000+ fans in humid, slippery conditions and first game of the season. All their other games will be a cake walk. Congrats to the Gators, best of luck this season.

Such a fun and exhilarating opening game! Both teams played extremely well with very little flaws for the season opening! As a Gator I always hope they will pull through but that was amazing. AR is a beast and force to be reckoned with. This game definitely got me stoked for the season!

@@nuggetmuncher2829 A lot of calls were against Florida. Like the extra time out the utes got..Like the “catch” that clearly showed the ball hitting the ground. And the Ute fans were loud, but not at the end of the game after the interception.

Utah is the defending champion of the PAC-12.
Florida finished 2nd to last in the SEC last year and is still probably 4th to last currently. Why would you doubt Florida in the swamp on a season opener?

Alabama fan here. Best play was the near sack fake throw spin out filaaay dart to wide open receiver eating a sandwich in the end zone. Hopefully Florida can keep the momentum and be a contender in the SEC. Utah played hella good. I remember they beat us in a bowl game a couple years back in the Sugar Bowl

Great game. Utah gave away 8 points that would have made the difference, but then again hindsight is 20/20 so congrats Gators. Utah will rebound and easily win the Pac-12 but will it be enough to get to a play-off? Really depends on how well Florida's season goes. I have to root for them to do well!

When were Utah fans hating on Florida? If you mean before the game somewhere, can't blame them really. It's not a fan base used to high expectations. But just remember CFB fans, Playing an unranked SEC team is like playing a mid to lower ranked team generally speaking. The only conference that sniffs the competitiveness of SEC football is the Big Ten I suppose. They do their sniffing with Pinnochio noses tho.
Also if you're a true fan of any SEC team especially one that's been on the ropes (like UF) for the last decade, you've probably developed some thick skin when it comes to trash talk.

What a Game...Florida QB #15 put on a Heisman showing imo...great decision making, great running, passing off balance etc. This team was ranked too low but proved themselves last night. The defense stepped up in pivotal moments

If this was in Utah, this would have been different and they have nothing to be ashamed of losing in Florida. They have a good team and will dominate the PAC-12 again. The Gators have a chance to be really good. Make no mistake, Utah is a dam good team. Go Gators!
To be fair we did essentially spot them 2 FGs (6 points) on some horrendous individual calls from refs.
This gators team is MUCH MORE disciplined in all aspects of the game. You can tell it’s opposite of what Mullen represented.

Florida is really that fast. SEC plays faster than everyone else it’s why they always win. Kids in the south are faster in general.

Utah is a tough and well coached team. They really came to play and had Florida on the ropes at the end. Amari Burney (#2) was chasing the Utah tight ends all night but he got his revenge with the interception in the end zone to dash Utah's hopes. Great game!

I noticed Utah need to work on situational call plays. This was all Utah game to win. 3 and out on a close td and an intercept at the end.

Letting those big runs and first downs on 3rd down, I thought the same but burney was being burnt by those talented TEs all game he got his revenge and stepped up and made a big play when we needed it. Big time players make big time plays, that pick will set the defense on fire and could be a catalyst for them to play better going forward, and give them the confidence that they can hang with any top ten team in the nation, something that was missing the past couple years

Defense made the win sealing play, but Richardson won the game. Take him out of the equation and Utah wins comfortably.
