- If you are in the mood for a good home cooked meal and want to support a local, mom and pop restaurant, come to the historic Douglass Loop and give Twig and Leaf a try. This authentic diner has been in operation in Louisville, KY for 60 years and is currently under new ownership. It has a cozy, old-fashioned atmosphere with quick and friendly service. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with breakfast being available all day.

Way, way back a long time ago my BFF and I would go to the Twig after Sunday School and skip church. We went to church at St Paul Methodist across the street from the Twig. Great memories from my long ago youth!
Those are beautiful churches through that area. Great area. Very nostalgic.
I think it was a few owners ago. I used to take the kids for breakfast on Saturdays all the time, loved the double loop. I gotta get back and try it out!!

That salad looked so super fresh and kinda reminds me of a taco salad with a beef patty instead of crumbled seasoned ground beef.

The eyes eat with but not always because if the taste predominates, the eyes are secondary I speak from experience my grandma always cooked a casserole that was also not for the eyes but it tasted fantastic :) good old home cooking :)

I suggest you try Kathmandu Kitchen and Bar at 3825 Bardstown Rd (at Bradford Drive) . I recommend their onion pakora and their chicken thukpa.
I also suggest Babie Bac'z Good Grill, on Terry Road - back in the mall behind Gorilla Bob's Grub Shack. Oh, and Mac Bros BBQ on Rockford Lane.
You can try my biscuit and gravy technique minus the hot sauce to cut out the vinegar. Thanks for the heads up on the other spots. I’ll look into them. I tried to review Baby Bac’z but they were not open for the hours they advertise. I live on the opposite side of the city and cannot do that again. I heard they were good though. I’ll check out the other spots though. Thanks.
My stepdad owned a bar a few doors down by Gibbs (and with the owner of Gibbs) called Ringside that was was an Ali haven. I think Twig has some pieces from it.
When did Ringside close? I don’t remember it. I remember Gibb’s BBQ though.
