First time I've ever seen "Convert Selection"! WOW. Please never skip these modeling parts. The more advanced one gets, the more you need modeling skills. Thank you!
Glad to see you kept your troubleshooting and refining with attribute changes and tests as part of the video - this is much more accurate and useful for showing users the real process of developing these effects instead of tutorials where the perfect settings are entered the first time. Thank you!!
@@oceanchill lovely feedback! I know what you mean, when I watch other tutorials, I find that at least a mention of the significance of important parameters is helpful. When I edit, I used to be concerned about people getting bored, but now that I think about it, at least there's the option to skip ahead for those who are already familiar. 😂 Btw, is there anything you wish for me to cover in this series?
@@RonaldFong Yes, viewers can always skip ahead if they're impatient. I really liked seeing the use of both Blender and Redshift with Houdini in this case, so more content like this would be wonderful - keep up the great work!
This was fantastic. It was the first time I saw your video because I am new to 3D and Houdini. I really appreciated your method of explaining and the pace, coming from BMD Fusion, which is top-notch for motion graphics and compositing with some basic 3D. I like how it's similar to Houdini. Perhaps that's why I was able to grasp about 80% of this video, even though I have barely watched any videos about Houdini and 3D or used them in general. Or perhaps you just explained it very well. I'm looking to learn more about Houdini from the basics, as I am very comfortable with a node-based workflow. Please continue your excellent work.🔥🔥
@@RonaldFong Took a look back through your videos, you've come a long way man. I'm getting back into all things 3D and really appreciate yourself and others putting this stuff out there, Subscribed!
Hi, thanks for another great tutorial. I really like you style of teaching, plus seeing all the little tweaks to make a better final shot. Looking forward to the next one.
@@frigbychilwether aw lovely! Yea, leaving some bits of those tweaks in there does make it more relatable. Tutorials often feel a lil' too good to be true when we cut out all the tweaking. 🤣 Thanks for your feedback. Help spread the word on these tutorials ya?
Super helpful! One question: how did you get the Redshift preset materials to show up in the menu? I am on the latest Redshift version and have all the options you have in that menu, except the preset materials.
@@amaruqi good question! You're very sharp! I made them when they moved to the "Standard Material" system. Time saver. It's largely based on the good presets I use from Arnold and the legacy Redshift Material. :)
best channel 🔥

I know right! "Convert Selection", along with other viewport-based operations is one of those mystical things in Houdini. Glad it was helpful!
Always fun and inspiring. Thank you so much for sharing all the techniques.
