The nostalgia level is through the roof listening to this. I used to sit and play this just to scare myself. That was 35 years ago but hearing it now, it’s all coming back. This is awesome.
The first year it was kind of scary, but as I got older it became comedy gold with my friends.

I had this as a kid. I remember getting it at Osco Drug store.
We decorated the yard and had this blasting out the window.

This was the soundtrack of my Halloween in the 80's: a time when I could walk to the general store downtown and go up and down the Halloween aisle looking at masks, costumes and tapes like this. Love it.

I had this when I was a kid - me and my mate used to blast it with the lights off and scare each other exchanging ghost stories .

Because of utube iv been able to relieve some of my childhood,the innocent times just being a kid ty utube and all the viewer's for posting such great songs and vids
This is one of the classics. I don't know why I like this old stuff so much but I listen to it often. I sure wish they would make these kinds of albums again!
Segment of the girl screaming at 3:25 was used at the ending of Black Sabbath's song Am I Going Insane. Useless information. lol
As a kid, i was the horror sounds tape guru. I bought every version of tape the big box stores come out with. This one was by far the most common but it was under different labels and titles.

This cassette scared the daylights out of my brother and I as kids. Nowadays we're in our 30's and it's no way near as creepy, but the nostalgia is still there. Always will be. Good memories!

Had this tape new in the 80’s. Have no idea where it went but so glad I found it here. I missed it and never thought I would hear it again except in my memories. Thank you for bringing it back to life!
They sure don't make cassette tapes like this anymore. THIS TAPE WAS SO MUCH FUN BACK IN THE DAY TO LISTEN TO ON HALLOWEEN 🎃 This is a classic

I used to have this same tape. xD But my tape actually had a white label on it with black text that read "SPOOKY SOUNDS". It sounds like something that was recorded off a vinyl record in the 60's XD
Absolutely fantastic. I never thought I cld ever find this. The sounds and visual image of that tape- it was the only thing i managed to not.lose for a decade.

I can’t believe it. I had this tape. I ordered it from the “Things you never knew existed” catalog from the back of a Boys Life magazine.

Wow!!! Never thought I would here this again. Me and my friends used to put this on and laugh about it all the time. Great memories. Really appreciate this upload. I used to love horror as a kid. I wanted a good scare but ended up with many laughs. Still cracks me up!!!🤣🤣🤣

I have this cassette. It belonged to my mother. Although, I have misplaced it. So I am glad you put it up. My siblings and I used to act out the characters on this tape. It was fun.
Was there a characted called "lown" ? My sister had some orange, scary cassette as a kid in the 90s and has been looking for it for years.

I still have this tape and a couple others, I think one being A Night in the Graveyard/A Night in the Haunted House, black cassette, the other being Thriller Chiller Sounds, can't remember but it was an orange and black tape like this. I got a great lp called The Thrilling Chilling Sounds of the Haunted House but it isn't the Disney album. Some of it sounds like Night of the Living Dead.....

we play all these great tapes and scary sounds all night and we're the only ones to do it around our streets and the kiddies and parents just love it, we get between 200-300 kids every year. I think is should be as thrilling as possible !!

I've been searching and searching for this on here for so long, Thank You!! I had this as a kid too. I taught myself how to laugh like the witch. I loved witches, still do. hell, I ended up learning that I was born a natural witch :D! on the ghost part that everyone is talking about, I thought they were zombies moaning.

so cheesy!!! LOL, Everyone's comments are so true! This brings back ALOT of my child memories of Halloween.
Back then we used to trick r treat till 10:30 and have so much candy we'd have to go home and dump it off, empty our bags and then go hit the good houses again that gave alot of candy!
I remember Halloween costumes and masks were sold in boxes. And the still remember what the inside of my HOT rubber monster mask, with teeny tiny breathing holes, I could barely see out of and breathe!!! LOL
I remember buying this, I still have it .
The thing remember most vividly was the sound of Disco music bleeding through from the next studio filtering in and how it killed the mood .
That's a special kind of creepy, right there! lol

Thank you so so much for the upload. Like everyone else I had this tape as a kid and at first it scared the heck out of me but then I grew to love listening to it. Even after all these years I would love to own this. Had so many versions of this tape too but the black cassette with the orange label is what I remember the most. And yes if you could upload the stories too that would be even better. Thanks!

When I was in kindergarten my teacher put in a Halloween vhs like this it scared the absolute crap out of me
even as a young kid I felt slightly embarrassed by the ghost moaning. it's either a really lousy impersonation of ghosts by amateurs or a young couple in the throes of passion.
I know what you mean. I used to have to run to the tape player and turn it down as soon as those sounds started. haha I'm going to upload an edited version without the "subjective" material soon. I'll post a link in this video description. :)

Wait, where is the other side? When I was a kid, I remember listening to the full tape online. There was a story about someone who I think killed his wife and her ghost played the organ all the time and despite him destroying it, he could still hear it.

Yes, but there have been many different compilations over the years, so maybe you ended p with one that had these sounds, and then other things, too.
The album that you're referring to, with the stories on it, was called "Famous Ghost Stories" on Pickwick Records. Tell Tale Heart was on it, and The Railroad Signal Man, and others

I do not think so, but there is a few samples in here that I have found that were used from other phonk producers, especially Dr. F.
These tapes used to come packaged like action figures, captured in plastic and factory glued to a cardboard backing. I got this one and many others at what was a store called Cornet, which turned into Thrifty then into Rite Aid. Oh,.nostalgia!
